I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

Ovia (I think it is called) is a good app. It has a list of foods and also medication that are/aren't safe.

SheSaidHeSaid · 07/07/2017 16:53

I'd love an app or something too, if anyone knows of one.

I've just been googling stuff but the advice can differ from the UK to the US (so, depending on where the website is from), for example, as well as advice seeming to change regularly.

SheSaidHeSaid · 07/07/2017 16:54

Cross posted, Panda. Will check that app as I do have it but need to have a proper mooch about the thing.

lokelani · 07/07/2017 18:42

I've downloaded three so far ovia, pregnancy + and the one from bounty. Pregnancy+ has done good articles. Ovia is probably better for tracking info. I will have a better look for a food list!

SheSaidHeSaid · 07/07/2017 18:58

Yep, I really like the calender on Ovia as I can work out how many weeks I'll be on certain dates easily.

stumblymonkeyagain · 07/07/2017 20:05

I'm using BabyCentre at the moment but haven't looked at any others so can't compare...with BabyCentre you put in your EDD and it updates every week to show you what's going on that week and relevant articles.

DancingUnicorn · 07/07/2017 20:12

I'm using BabyCentre and Pregnancy +. I don't dare redownload Ovia as I think it will remember my previous pregnancy details which will be just a bit heartbreaking! I think I'll get it again after 12 weeks, assuming I get that far! Only down side is it's very American, so uses American food guidelines, which I expect to be broadly similar to ours, but not identical. It has a lot of random fish I've never heard of, but lacks some pretty standard ones! It also isn't very useful in terms of suggestions of when midwife appointments will be etc (unless you're actually in America, in which case it's probably great!)

lokelani · 07/07/2017 20:13

Pregnancy+ does similar. It has a good section for the partner to read. DH just read it cos we're both a bit shocked (at the BFP) and surprised that it's having such a physical impact already. So it was nice to have something for him to read and get what's going on in/with me!

Ovia has a good calendar and has more detail than the others.

I don't like Bounty. I'll likely delete that!

stumblymonkeyagain · 07/07/2017 20:15

So I'm driving myself a bit mad with this but I had one leftover (cheap Tesco) preg test left so did it again today.

Now I wish I hadn't. It seems fainter than the one I did on Weds. They are both quite faint but then I'm only 4+2

Any cause for concern? I haven't had any spotting. Lots of crampy feelings but I know that happens in pregnancy anyway as the womb starts to adapt.

Pic shows both tests - top is Weds and bottom is today...

DancingUnicorn · 07/07/2017 20:48

Stumbly did you do one of them in the evening. That could be the reason?

Smiley1981 · 07/07/2017 20:50

Such hard work there Dancing! Thanks, nice to see all the dates together Smile

Smiley1981 · 07/07/2017 20:51

Stumbly, it could just be a different time of day?

SS81C · 07/07/2017 20:53

Stumbly I definitely wouldn't worry. The line from Wednesdays test could have darkened through evapiration and it's only 2 days and if you tested at different times of the day there might have been slightly more dilute urine leading to a fainter line.
I totally get the anxiety though....maybe do another one after the weekend if you're super worried - first thing in the morning - it will probably be loads darker! (Honestly i can hardly see a diffefenve between the 2 lines) xx

DancingUnicorn · 07/07/2017 20:56

Smiley I saved it all on an excel spreadsheet with formulas for the formatting so I can update and order the dates more easily! definitely not a geek

DancingUnicorn · 07/07/2017 20:59

Also feel like I should apologise - going back through the thread made me realise just how negative my posts are!!! Am feeling much more positive today, so hopefully can spread some of that instead!

stumblymonkeyagain · 07/07/2017 21:04

@DancingUnicorn Love the nerdy excel list! You're a star Star

My EDD is 14th March.

Weds test was at lunchtime, today's around mid morning. I'll buy a couple more tomorrow and see how it goes after the weekend...

How long does it take until you start being able to go to the loo without checking for blood? Confused

mamasiz · 07/07/2017 21:10

Hi @stumblymonkeyagain Smile My first test looked exactly like yours - I wouldn't worry, though I know it's easier said than done! I waited a few days and did a digital test in the evening - BFP! I did another digital test the next morning, first thing, and same result. I'm 4+5 today. I'm still checking when I go to the loo but feeling more positive now.

lokelani · 07/07/2017 21:17

@DancingUnicorn gosh well done! I'm totally confused about my EDD. Based on my last period I'm 6 weeks today. But my cycles vary in length I don't know when my OD would be. I'm waiting to hear from a midwife too so I'm going into the weekend feeling very uninformed! Hanging out with my other best mate tomorrow who wants a 'glass of wine or two' oh gosh.

SS81C · 07/07/2017 21:18

Love the spreadsheet @dancing!!!

DancingUnicorn · 07/07/2017 21:39

Loke don't worry too much. They will base you on lmp for now, but when you have 12 week scan they will update and give you an official EDD. I think everyone usually changes by a little bit from what I've seen on threads before!

The wine thing is hard. Try the dentist antibiotics? Or driving? Or it's not hot for wine I fancy 'preferred soft drink'!

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 07/07/2017 21:43

Hi all! I finally got a strong positive this morning! EDD 11th March 🙌🏼

March 2018
DancingUnicorn · 07/07/2017 21:46

Lovely line! 😃Congratulations!

stumblymonkeyagain · 07/07/2017 21:54

Great line. I'm going to buy a FRER tomorrow and see how mine turns out...

stumblymonkeyagain · 07/07/2017 21:58

It all feels so surreal at the moment. It's such a massive thing I want to tell the whole world and start preparing but obvs theres no point starting to do that until at least 12 weeks.

It's like everything has changed and nothing has changed at the same time.

I might start having a bit of a clear out at the weekend to at least partially calm my new nesting instincts!

I'm also getting five new foster kittens early next week (latex gloves purchased to deal with litter) so they will distract me a bit...
