December 2017 babies #6 - dating scans, gender reveals, the beginning of bumps & the 2nd trimester!

Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

Sorry for going awol, I had a awful migraine all weekend and now frantically getting ready to go back to work after mat leave ends next Monday I had my private scan Friday and it went well, managed to chase the midwife and have now had my booking in appointment and they even rushed through a nhs scan, due date is now 15th December. Loving all the lovely scan pics congrats to everyone who has had their scans.

maryshelley I just wanted to offer some reassurance, I had a lot of spotting in my last pregnancy (which turned out absolutely fine) I have also had two misscariages which I didn't have brown spotting, I was reassured that brown spotting is old blood, I was told I had a small bleed away from the pregnancy which basically came away intermittently until it disappeared. It caused no problems apart from making my anxiety levels go sky high!! I also have a friend who had brown spotting with some small clots, she had her 12 week scan and baby was fine. It can also sometimes be something to do with your cervix (can't remember what the epu said It was called, but it was harmless but could cause bleeding), I know you won't be able to relax until tomorrow, but hand holding until then x

Loving all this nub theory stuff. I'd never read about it until today. Don't know if you can tell from my scan pics? See attached.

I fell over in the garden today and landed with a thud on my legs. Hoping baby is alright but I'm now worrying irrationally about that.

Mary I keep thinking of you, I know you've heard it from everyone else but try and stay calm until your scan tomorrow. As everyone said brown blood is known as not an issue usually so I have everything crossed for you that all is ok tomorrow.

I thought I'd feel better after my 12 week scan but now more people know (like almost everyone we know now knows!) I'm worrying our screening test is going to come back high risk. We are going away for a few days next week and I'm stressing it won't be back before we go! .

Anyway, here's my scan pics.....a few but I don't think they are clear enough for identifying nubs? What do you all think?

I'm more than happy with either, no preference whatsoever. Most of DHs family are boys so they would all like a girl. We have a definite boys name but not a definite girls name. Either way we are going to find out the gender so we can narrow down names and I may have accidentally purchased a 4D scan and gender test from wowcher today so we can go at 16/17 weeks instead of waiting until 20 weeks. Oops hehe.

We've just been out for curry and were discussing boys names, our joint fave now isn't my fave and I'm back on one he doesn't like! X

We also missed the happy hour by 10 mins and what should have been £20 was £44

Fox, is say yours is a girl but Mrs bluebell I'm afraid I can't see a nub in yours. All good fun - not sure I believe it tbh - certainly not a bunch of amateurs (like me) guessing on the internet. The irony is that I could know by Friday if I wanted but we chose not to have the sex part of the harmony. Can't wait to find out at the c section.

Hi everyone, so sorry for not replying individually but you have no idea how much it means to me to read all the lovely messages of support. Thank you so much for everyone who's taken the time to write reassuring stories, it really genuinely has helped and I'm so touched. No spotting at all right now so feeling a bit better, just hoping I can sleep!

Urgh, it's the time again, wide awake!

I'm awake as well......

Awake since 3am

Managed to sleep until 5am...seem to have sharp pains this morning but no spotting so not sure if it's just my nerves. Wish I could sleep a bit more.

5.05 wake up here with stabby pains in my right groin region plus a runny nose!
Scan day today am so nervous

Oh god! I was so nauseous yesterday it was untrue. Still not actually sick but felt like I could be any minute from about mid day until I went to bed at quarter past 8!
Still two weeks to the dating scan when I'll be 12+5. Feels a bit weird being one of the ones at the end of the month hearing that some of you have your 16 week appointments soon!

Managed to sleep again after a little while but woke up on my back again so feel stressed about that.

Hope the pains go away and the scans go well today for you both Mary and Lapin. Let us know how you get on.

Carlotta and peachi hope you both managed to get a little more sleep.

Don't worry about waking up on your back. Your body will naturally turn you over if there's a big drop in blood pressure

Very very crampy. Not sure if they feel like period cramps or not. Trying to persuade myself they feel more stretchy then that.
Not sure who said they had sharp stabby pains but my mw assured me that they were very likely to be digestive pains!!
Donna - I'm at the end as well, it does feel odd seeing that people will be at 16 when I am only at 12. 11+1 today. Time is basically moving backwards now........

Had a little bit more sleep and I'm off work today, because of my boyfriends birthday :-) so I can turn over in a bit and have another nap.

11+2 today, so, yes, also one of the last ones! And I also had cramps last night and heartburn, so I went to bed early.

Good luck with all the scans today! So excited for you! And fingers are still crossed for Mary!

11+6 here a fresh round of nausea this morning. I think it's because I'm so tired 😪😪
Second night in a row of toddler not settling until 1am. She's going through a leap and is very difficult atm.
Ah well, time to go to work and pretend to be productive! I'm meeting my NCT gang for dinner tonight so need to just tough it out.
