Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

Brown discharge can be totally normal, the fact that you're not in pain and not having bright red bleeding are positive signs. Have everything crossed for you.

So sorry, Mary! I don't know what to suggest, I just feel so sorry for you.
Try and lie down, don't do any work, rest and try to think positive? It sounds so much easier than it is, I know. :-(
It still baffles me how difficult it is to get a simple scan here, it would mean so much reassurance for many women. My friends, who had their babies abroad, normally had up to three scans within the first 12 weeks and could see their doctor anytime when they had problems with bleeding, cramps or nausea and would be scanned without further question.

Oh Mary I'm so glad you're being seen tomorrow! I'm so sorry about the bleeding still, is it brown? 4 weeks ago I had a lot of heavy brown stuff coming out and EPU couldn't fit me in on the same day either, I was such a mess but did have a positive scan the next day. I really hope it's just the same for you. Keeping my fingers crossed and thinking of you xx

I know this isn't the reassurance you need, and I know everyone is different, but none of my miscarriages started with nroen discharge. It was instantly red, heavy, and incredibly painful.

All I can say is make sure you and your DH look after each other. And I second calling your midwife, she'll want to hear from you. Is there any possibility of asking to be referred to a hospital slightly further away if they could see you sooner?

All went well today! Moved forward a few days so now 12+6 and due December 13th.
Little monkey was upside down to begin with, I had to wiggle around, they kept on pushing their legs off the side and successfully flipping back over, arms and legs were everywhere so the scan took a little while to get measurements 😂

So sorry to hear your having a rough time Mary. I had a mmc last year but started bleeding before my erpc and that was red blood, not brown. It's such a worry, but try to be calm. Will keep everything crossed for you tomorrow.

I'm another one on the worry bench. The lady who took my screening bloods on Friday promised she'd call me yesterday if the bloods came back ok. She said I'd receive a call from the midwife either yesterday or today if there were concerns. I was distraught and beside myself last night as I'd had no call from her. I just couldn't stop crying, which seems silly now. I think tiredness and pregnancy hormones didn't help!

No call from the midwife either (still got time until 5pm though) so I'm going to take it that everything is fine and she either forgot to call or was off sick/ someone else did the letters.

I didn't realise how anxious I was about this pregnancy until yesterday.

Chocolate I was told the same ... then they posted them to me! There's no consistency, please try not to worry too much. If there was anything wrong, they'd call you.

Mary I'm sorry - I'm sure it's fine but hideous none the less. When I was spotting a lot I drank loads of water (have heard it can be associated with dehydration and I never drink much) and it did go away. I hope you get seen asap.

japan I had a read of the nub theory but couldn't quite make mine out! My DH thinks girl, I'm sure I see a boy nub but I've no idea!

I'm no expert, but I would guess girl from those. Really not professing to be great at this though!

I did it... I bought something for the baby. An organic wool overall that regulates the temperature nicely. Was only on offer today (and only available in red), they normally cost a fortune! But it's going to my mum and dad's, I'm sure if something is wrong next week at the scan, my mum would be able to send it back without me seeing it.

After all the nub chat I've gone back to my scan pic.

Mary as others have said put your feet up, try to rest and brown discharge can be perfectly normal.

ChocolateRaisin I know what you mean about anxious. I had a scan on Sunday but I'm still not convinced everything is ok. NHS on 14th. I've been told the worrying tends to reduce once you can feel movements. I'm hoping the sickness goes too.

Gender prediction is fun! I have a feeling it's a girl, unsure why. Nub theory potentially says girl, but I'm not quite sure if I'm looking at the nub or a leg grin My husband thinks baby's head looks very boy-like. Skull theory is also a thing, but I can't really see the difference!
What do you think, ladies??
