Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

bluebell perhaps give them a call to check?
Our gender scan was £55 so not too bad. I couldn't wait the extra 4 weeks if I'm honest!

Bisquick · 05/06/2017 19:50

This was a very nice article I'd bookmarked @Peachi82 let's see if it works!

Wow lots of scans coming up! We have our 12 week scan next Tuesday and then I'm off to the states for a 10 day break - can't hardly wait! Won't hear back on the SAFE test until at least Thursday but so very anxious and nervous.

CarlottaJo · 05/06/2017 19:59

@Mrsbluebell17 they can do gender at any point from 16weeks xx

ScotsLamb · 05/06/2017 20:03

Hi all
4 pages already!
I'm Laura. Turned 30 on Tuesday. 11 + 4 with first baby. We are team yellow!
Morning sickness not so bad today but eyes are struggling. Very blurred vision.
Told family yesterday and all are very excited. NHS scan on 14th June.

Brens13 · 05/06/2017 20:20

Watching saving private ryan tonight.... Time to put those hormonal emotions to good use and have a good cry 😂

macsworth · 05/06/2017 20:29

Hi all 👋🏼

Thanks for the new thread carley. Now I've got a job where there is some work for me to do it's pretty hard to catch up.

Macs
Baby #1
14+4
EDD 30/11
Firmly Team Yellow (gut feeling is a girl)

I finally told my new boss today. She was very nice about it! What a massive relief to get that off my shoulders!

Peachi82 · 05/06/2017 21:38

Thanks for the article, Bisquick!

Good night everyone! Star

MaryShelley1818 · 05/06/2017 22:05

Thank you so much for all the kind thoughts, it's very kind.
Physically I seem to be ok, no pain and discharge now only has spots of brown in when wiping or placing finger in to check, there's been none on my pants. Emotionally I'm a mess, I'm still in bed and have cried on and off all day.
Going to ring midwife in the morning, think I've just had my head in the sand today xx

fishfingerSarnies · 05/06/2017 22:06

Back to the bilingual chat we are raising ours bilingualy dh speaks only Welsh to the kids and I speak English (more Welsh as I'm learning) neither were late speakers, both very strong in both languages.

Dh was out for the evening working so I was hoping to have an early night however have ended up chatting the night away to my sil and now the "too tired sickness" is sneaking up on me.

I love name chat but dh won't really engage, we struggle to agree on names as he only likes very very Welsh names and even though I do too I'd like my (English) family to be able to say the names of our kids!

fishfingerSarnies · 05/06/2017 22:08

Oh Mary it must be an emotional rollercoaster. I do think you should pester them for a scan or you'll be a complete wreck by the end of the week.
I hope you can get some rest.

Royalsteph · 05/06/2017 22:58

Don't feel very pregnant today for some reason. Bump is still there but smaller, boobs are only sore when I touch them. Scan on Wed, fingers crossed all is okay

MontyPants · 06/06/2017 00:31

So jealous of those of you who are bilingual! I think it's a great idea for baby to learn both. My neighbor is French, maybe I can get him to babysit (a lot)!

Mrsbluebell17 · 06/06/2017 04:33

Ok so I'm back to the 4am wake up time again. Random!!

@CarlottaJo how you doing tonight?

Hope you're ok @MaryShelley1818 - get yourself checked again if you're unsure. No point in stressing. Although I do understand the fear will not be helping. Thinking of you.

CarlottaJo · 06/06/2017 05:25

Hi @Mrsbluebell17 been awake since 4.20! So annoying! OH just said "you need to go back to sleep" oh how helpful! Had a horrid night last night, got really upset and gave myself an awful headache, so anxious for Thursday. Get my new car today so hopefully that will distract me x

CarlottaJo · 06/06/2017 05:26

@MaryShelley1818 sending you love xxx

TootsyBella84 · 06/06/2017 06:39

It's scan day! I feel sick with nerves on top of my normal sickness. Hurrah!

glitteryvibes · 06/06/2017 07:07

Hi all,
I'm 11+5 with no1
Edd from lmp 21st Dec
Scan next Monday, no scans as of yet.

Still vomming, tiredness not so bad but comes in waves. Cannot wait to have the scan and have some proof that it's not all in my head!!

Good luck to those with scans soon.

Hope you get some reassurance fr the midwife and they bring your scan forward mary

Jealous of all the bilingual chatter, me and dp are very much English only speakers but I've always been a bit jealous of my cousins brought up trilingual!! When the youngest first started speaking she would use all 3 languages in the same sentence as she hadn't learnt to differentiate between them.

Lixon · 06/06/2017 07:07

Good luck today Tootsy, keeping everything crossed for you!

I hope you can speak to someone who can put your mind at rest and organise a scan MaryShelley..

I can't believe how close to 16w some of you early birds are!!

I'm 31, pregnant for the fourth time hopefully with my first (following 2 miscarriages and a TFMR following an Edwards diagnosis earlier this year). I'm 12w6 and team blue following my harmony scan but still massively anxious something is going to go wrong..

I can't wait for the fabled second trimester with good sleep, skin and kits if energy 😃

Zaberwocky · 06/06/2017 07:16

Another day another internal debate Grin ...

Still feel sick. Still don't fancy playing on my phone/mumsnetting for ten hours even though you lot are lovely. I really want to feel guilty about calling in sick, and I would drag myself in if they'd made it possible for me to do any work...

Nope. Calling in. I'm sure the feeling of guilt will eventually fade.

Brens13 · 06/06/2017 07:57

You're doing the right thing. More important to look after yourself. Especially as you're leaving so don't need to impress them anymore. They need to be more understanding. Can't believe they just expect you to sit around for 10 hours.

Zaberwocky · 06/06/2017 08:02

Brens they've expected that the last four months. They're a horrendous employer. And honestly a generally appalling government body. I'm actually considering omitting them off my CV so I don't need to ever use them as a reference ... and also considering writing to the Daily Mail about how exactly everyone's taxes are wasted on staff that are paid to do nothing. There's at least 90k worth of pointlessness in my office alone.

Brens13 · 06/06/2017 08:16

Wow then you are definitely better off out of there. Once you're in your new job you shouldn't have to use them as a reference again as they won't be your latest employer. How much longer is it now? 3 weeks? I'd be careful going to the press unless you can do it completely anonymously as new employers might not trust you as much if you're a whsitleblower. Wrong, but probably true.

Zaberwocky · 06/06/2017 08:20

Last week! My DBS is in the post so I can sort everything out officially as soon as it arrives Grin

Ah I won't go to the press really. It'd harm DH's career so I'd only be shooting myself in the foot. I really hope someone does speak up though. The amount of money being frittered away is shocking.

Brens13 · 06/06/2017 08:34

Yeay! May as well not go in till the last day to do the HR rubbish.

I know what you mean. I work for a small local charity and our CEO is a disgrace. He does no work in the office, "wfh" whenever he wants, is an ego maniac who thinks the company is all about him, and had just persuaded the board he's had an outstanding year and should get a £20k bonus. Everyone is so angry as the board has no knowledge of the day to day running of the company so don't know just how lazy he is. And he's happy to take the money away from the charity. We'd all love to speak up but he's also a bully so others are scared or him. Thankfully he's scared of me so does whatever I say lol but I can't lead the uprising on my own 😂

JCHatchling · 06/06/2017 08:44

Hello new thread! I'm 13 + 3 and EDD December 9th. IVF baby so dates very accurate!! Had a 7, 9 and 12 week scan and thinking of also doing a private 16 week gender scan... Still very dizzy in the mornings. Going to call midwife today to check latest thyroid results as wonder if that adds to the faintness.

We should start sharing bump pics soon! Mine is ridiculous!! I must have no stomach muscles x
