Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

15+1 stuck in bed with the most horrendous headache. Puked my dinner up last night and cried because my head hurt and my eyes were throbbing. Literally haven't moved all day, went for my first wee at 4pm.

pauseplayrepeat · 19/06/2017 17:25

Oh Royal, that's rubbish. Have you got ice packs? Really feel for you, I've been getting the most shocking headaches the past few weeks. Hope you feel better soon.

pauseplayrepeat · 19/06/2017 17:28

How did your first day at the new job go zabe? Hope it went well!

Zaberwocky · 19/06/2017 17:40

Thanks everyone Grin

Lovely first day. Very strange systems and ways of doing things, I won't have an induction till next week so until then I'll just be sorting out my office and attempting to orginise 10000's of pieces of paper ...

I didn't actually get chance to discuss pregnancy with my manager! Though seeing she had her son in with her for a few hours this morning makes me feel a lot better about actually telling her. They seem really family friendly.

biginjapan · 19/06/2017 19:24

Great that it seems family friendly zaber - hope you get to discuss pregnancy soon.

I've had no more blood since first thing. Do you think I can relax? I have a Doppler and maybe heard the hb v v faintly earlier but can't be sure. Still pretty early.

CarlottaJo · 19/06/2017 19:45

If you're still worried @biginjapan please ring your maternity unit and not use a home doppler for reassurance, it's so hard to listen in this early too, am glad the bleeding has stopped though, that sounds positive. Did you speak to your actual mw, she might be able to refer you in for a scan.

Glad your day went well @Zaberwocky, family friendly sounds good.

@Royalsteph I feel your pain, I've been sick twice today, my nausea is worsening and I'm 15 weeks tomorrow, have felt pretty rubbish today, took me alllllll day to clean my very modest flat! Xx

biginjapan · 19/06/2017 20:10

Thanks Carlotta - I have used a Doppler for the other pregnancies. Wouldn't use it for heartbeat monitoring later on, but it can be reassuring early. Pretty sure I did hear it faintly.

I think I'll leave it for now and monitor.

biginjapan · 19/06/2017 20:15

Plus still feeling sick/sore breasts etc. I'm sure it was just my cervix being irritated by something.

Mumoftheark · 19/06/2017 20:25

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all well and enjoying he sunshine ...... 😭 who am I kidding of course your not it's frickin horrible being pregnant in a heatwave!

Haven't been on here for about a month - will never catch up so won't even try lol.
Been keeping in touch with the girls in the Facebook group but hope everyone else is doing ok.

I'm now 12+4 had my scan last week and all looked good. They kept my due date the same so 28/12 which I love because it's my wedding anniversary. Sickness is finally coming to an end - still get the odd day of feeling horrific like today, but generally I'm a lot better than I was.

Will try to keep up to date with what's happening now looking at my phone doesn't make me want to vomit 🙈

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/06/2017 20:27

Ohhhhh totally just deleted my whole post I'd written!!!! Sad

I'll try again.....
Zaber, glad to hear your first day went well and they seem family friendly.

Brens, how was your first day back? That's really annoying re your cleaner. We'd love a cleaner but can't really justify the cost at the moment. DH is super helpful so I'm very lucky he does a lot of the cleaning, but I feel so guilty at the moment as I'm really finding it a challenge to pull my weight.

Carley, I am 15+2 and feel like my energy levels are slowly increasing again.

Steph, hope you feel better soon.

To those talking about being early, I'm one of the early birds too. Pride myself on being at places well ahead of time, and very organised. Doesn't always work out, but I try Smile

So I ended up changing the location I was due to stay at tonight with work, and I've luckily ended up in a hotel room with air con! Can't believe my luck. Hoping for a good nights sleep, although I don't have my big pillow tonight. Fingers crossed!

MontyPants · 19/06/2017 20:40

I went out for lunch today, but had a healthy-ish sandwich and lots of salad, then went for a walk, then powerwashed my patio..... so obviously I caved and bought a McDonald's for tea. Oops. Nice though.

Also, gender scan tomorrow!!!!!! I think it's a boy, will find out at midday

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/06/2017 21:02

Monty can't wait to hear your gender San result tomorrow Grin

I had tea out tonight as I'm away for work, but had two cheese salad wraps for lunch so I've not been tooooooo bad Hmm

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/06/2017 21:03

My tummy feels really tight tonight. Very strange feeling x

glastogal · 19/06/2017 21:09

Ooh.. excited to hear about the gender scan Monty!!

My tummy went really tight a couple of nights ago too mrsB.. didn't last ages but it sure felt odd!

Congrats on a good first day zaber

Lovely scan pic mumoftheark - glad to see you back and feeling a bit less sicky!!

Japan - happy there's no more blood. Hope you are feeling ok x

I had jacket potato and salad for dinner.. it's been a day of grazing though. Several ice lollies consumed! Feeling really lethargic which is hampering my glasto packing in a bad way. Got so much to do tomorrow Confused

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/06/2017 21:11

Glasto, it's kinda gone tight from the top - very odd feeling!

glastogal · 19/06/2017 21:25

That's what happened to me.. my whole tummy went rock hard!!

CarlottaJo · 19/06/2017 21:25

I am so itchy! What is this about?!

ScotsLamb · 19/06/2017 21:28

Someone on another thread said tummy tightness is actually Brixton hicks.

I've had an awful day of nausea and sickness today. Body tried to be sick about 20 times this morning but there was nothing in my tummy. Then nausea all day so it was a tub of micronoodles and a litre of milk for dinner.
I had a wee nap about 6pm and then had enough energy to do lots of marking :-) now feel happy to go to bed early.

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/06/2017 21:37

Having to go without my glass of milk before bed tonight as I'm in a hotel. Let's hope I can still sleep. Got some crisps, might eat them so I can fill my tummy again a bit before bed time.

Scots - glad you're feeling a bit better now. Hope you're ok.
That's interesting re the braxton hicks - didn't know they would be around so early.

ScotsLamb · 19/06/2017 21:39

Yeah I was surprised too but apparently (accordingly to another posted on mn) they can. I've not researched it further.

Brens13 · 19/06/2017 22:33

Pleased first day went well zaber lovely to be in a family friendly place.

My first day back wasn't as bad as I thought thanks bluebell

Just had my hockey club agm and have been voted in as social secretary 😂 (I did not put myself forward) the day after announcing my pregnancy... Not sure that's ever happened before! Not sure the 250 club members will want to take on a pregnant lady so hopefully social events will be well attended. Have already started the sweepstake!

Also got home to my screening results, 1 in over 12000 for one and 1 in over 16000 for the other. They're OK right?!

Brens13 · 19/06/2017 22:34

Also bluebell I hope you sleep OK without your milk. Hopefully the air con will help. I'm sure you could call down for some if not x

TipTop333 · 19/06/2017 22:38

They're fantastic Brens! Congrats!

TipTop333 · 19/06/2017 22:39

I read last time that braxton hicks start from the very beginning but it just takes a while to feel them. I've definitely had them at times too and I think they're responsible for the cramps I would get after walking really quickly/rushing around.

Brens13 · 19/06/2017 22:44

Phew thank you tiptop. You hear of people with 1 in 100000 and so my number is always going to look small compared to that, but I thought it was pretty average based on nothing whatsoever lol. Just needed some reassurance Smile
