Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

Carley27 · 17/06/2017 14:51

glastogal · 17/06/2017 15:01

Thanks ladies!! Yes @CarlottaJo - I predicted boy (in your face DP!!).. didn't buy anything though. Didn't like anything in Sainsburys (my one only has a small clothes dept)

glastogal · 17/06/2017 15:02

Ooh yeah - I did get some 4D pics!

Angielka · 17/06/2017 15:38

Congrats on your boys zaberwocky and glasto!! Can I swap with one of you? My DDs would love a little brother and it seems DH and I only produce girls Grin

How is everyone doing where kicks or more likely flutters and bubbles are concerned? I have felt the odd movement but everyone told me it was digestive stuff. Today though I have felt something similar three times and I'm sure it's the little un making her presence felt. 16 weeks today!

CarlottaJo · 17/06/2017 15:46

Awww look at that real life person @glastogal! Amazing!

@Angielka is this your third girl? I always said I wanted 3 girls! I think I'll have a boy though.

Eeek tooo exciting xx

glastogal · 17/06/2017 15:54

I haven't felt anything yet @Angielka (but I read it could be later for a first baby) but I can't wait to feel my first kicks and get that reassurance he is with me. It definitely feels more real now we know a little boy is on the way, but kicks will really top things off for me!! So excited you can already feel her!!

Oysterbabe · 17/06/2017 17:02

I thought I felt something the other day but seems too early at 14 weeks. With my first I had flutters at 18 weeks and kicks at 20.

rebs1993 · 17/06/2017 17:25

Congrats @Zaberwocky and @glastogal on your boys!! Wonderful news.

TipTop333 · 17/06/2017 17:39

Jealous of all those who know already! I find out on the 10th and despite being adamant last time I didn't want to know, I am very excited to find out this time!

I'd be interested to hear if those who have found out were correct in terms of their own guesses beforehand.

ScotsLamb · 17/06/2017 17:44

Oyster feedback is required on the cornflake chicken please!
Bluebell totally sounds like heartburn. Get the gaviscon on standby. You'll be amazed how good it feels after gaviscon. I get heart burn when I've not eaten enough and my tummy is empty.
Bump alert: mine was huge yesterday and nothing today. Very disappointed that boob size have returned to normal size but I've been warned this won't last for long 😊
My cousin has just Facebook announced her second baby due on Boxing Day. We still haven't Facebook announced as I want OH to do it but don't want to leave it too late in case folk think we are hiding it (no married but definitely a much planned and wanted baby).

ScotsLamb · 17/06/2017 17:45

Oh and I came on to discuss food!
I'm having chippy for dinner but I have a whole slab of Costco chicken breasts.
Give me your favourite chicken meals please!

Oysterbabe · 17/06/2017 18:16

Oh the cornflake chicken was very tasty.

We just stopped off in Mothercare and they had a mountain buggy duet in there. My 18 month old seemed very happy and comfortable in it. I reckon we'll go for it.

glastogal · 17/06/2017 18:39

We haven't announced on Facebook either @scotslamb - not sure if we even will. I think I have told almost all the people I feel should know, anyone else will get told as and when I see them or we get in touch somehow. Or it will get pseudo-announced after I get tagged in photos at the various weddings I have to go to..

Lixon · 17/06/2017 19:06

Congratulations on the boys Zaber and glasto, we definitely seem a bit imbalanced so far! At least we get to share lots of cute dinosaur and train clothes 😃

We're not Facebook announcing either but it is funny to see other people doing the same who will hopefully have little ones the same age.

I managed quite a haul in Seraphine earlier - stuff wasn't bad value but spent a small fortune, mostly on work type dresses. I tried on the London and Milan bump packs and liked both black dresses, only the London skirt but neither white top or the leggings really worked and I'm a bigger size on top than bottom due to massive boobs so decided to pass. I did buy a black version of the vest and a black body con midi dress which works for my short legs but definitely need to pick some more casual clothes up.

Carley27 · 17/06/2017 19:37

We (well I as DH isn't on facebook) facebook announced yesterday, mainly so I don't have to tell anymore people! Told family, close friends and work beforehand though. Went with a probably cringey picture as I'm crap at announcement statuses!

I had a chippy too Scots! Favourite chicken dishes would be:

  • Fajitas
  • Chicken and pesto pasta
  • Hunters chicken
  • Chicken curry

ScotsLamb · 17/06/2017 20:15

Carley sounds like lots of our dishes 😊 although I've barely cooked the last 10 weeks. Need to get back to it so mass cooking tonight. I post regularly on Facebook so would seem like we were hiding it if I didn't post on facebook but OH wants to post on his first. Pity he is out doing silage until the wee small hours 🙁

Royalsteph · 17/06/2017 20:15

Evening ladies. Haven't posted in a while been an epic week. We got the keys to our new house on Monday but only managed to get in today due to being at work. 6hrs driving last night was not fun. But have managed to get some baby bargains from Gumtree while we've been here. Going to book a gender scan for the 01 Jul, 20 wk scan is 25 Jul, definitely can't wait that long. Haven't told anyone except family, a friend and my bosses. I don't intend to hide it but won't be announcing it. Already had one 'don't you have a TV' comment!

MontyPants · 17/06/2017 21:58

@Angielka I'm also 16 weeks today and I keep feeling little flutters. I initially thought it was just digestive feelings, or I was making it up, but it keeps happening and everyone I've mentioned it to says it will be baby. But it seems so strange as I only noticed it yesterday for the first time, and it just seems very early! It definitely feels how people describe it.

MontyPants · 17/06/2017 22:02

Scots try Spanish chicken (I'm not sure what makes it spanish, it's just what I call it). Just stick chicken, tinned tomatoes, onion, olives, peppers, and diced raw potato in a big dish. Add salt, pepper, and spices. Cover with foil. Put in oven. Eat when chicken is cooked and potatoes are soft. Maybe a bit of bread to soak up the juices too. Yum. Making myself feel very hungry now.

ScotsLamb · 17/06/2017 22:20

Thank so Monty I have some chicken now stashed in the freezer so will give that a bash. I love anything that needs bread to mop up the juices :)
Is anyone suffering from night time nausea? Any hints or tips? Ginger ain't working.

Mrsbluebell17 · 17/06/2017 22:21

Thanks Miami, I'll have to get some gaviscon incase I get it again. I also have been occasionally getting up and getting a glass of milk to fill my stomach and then going back to bed and I often get to sleep again so I'll keep doing that. Hope you enjoyed your hair appointment.

Zaber congrats on the boy! Enjoy Norfolk, we've just come back from there. Where are you staying?

Glasto congrats on the boy news too! That 4D scan pic is amazing! Can't wait for ours, a few weeks to go yet though.

Angielka I've not felt any movement yet, not sure when I should expect that to start with my first?

Scots thanks for the advice re heartburn too, never experienced anything like it before so at least now I know for next time.

We haven't Facebook announced either but have now told everyone we want to tell ourselves and future photos will give it away when I have more of a bump.

Saw SIL today who gave us masses of baby stuff, which is going to be an amazing help!

Hope you've all had a good day. I'm currently trying to get cool before going to bed!

Brens13 · 17/06/2017 23:00

Congratulations zaber and glasto more boys! Very exciting.

I've had a busy day with family over, first of all helping us dig up some of our garden all day then hosting a bbq for 11 people. Exhausted now!

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/06/2017 02:02

Hope you're ok Brens. It's tiring work hosting isn't it.

2am club for me today Hmm

Miami81 · 18/06/2017 05:38

Bluebell I've been awake since exactly 4am. Could happily cry..........
