Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

You can update the spreadsheet at the below link:

Ooh oysterbabe thanks for the reminder, which version did you go for- just the London one?!

When are your results due Carlotta? Hopefully they'll come back soon..

I'm just heAding to the hospital for an appointment with a fetal medicine doctor. I'm secretly hoping for an extra scan but not sure that's part of it!

CarlottaJo · 16/06/2017 11:29

Probably by Wednesday, need to keep reminding myself I've already got a low risk result. I do hate my brain you know!

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2017 11:46

Let us know how you get on Lixon. I went for the Milan kit. The leggings are so comfortable.

Bisquick · 16/06/2017 12:02

Congrats Lapin on another girl! Yay Team Pink. And congrats to all the others on lovely scans as well.
It's 4 am here but I'm jetlagged and wide awake! Good luck for the scans this weekend, and Carlotta for your Harmony results - should be sometime next week?

Anyone else getting/have the BabyZen YOYO? We picked it mostly because it's easy to travel with and is quite light so I can hopefully manage it! DH also really loved the CityJogger with its one-hand fold. But it's a smidgen heavier.

MontyPants · 16/06/2017 12:27

Back from consultant appointment. Had an extra scan which I didn't expect, so I went alone. Got to see heartbeat again, and little wiggly legs and waving arms. DH is now gutted he didn't get to see baby again. Think we'll have to book a private gender scan so he can see before 20 weeks. I'm 16 weeks tomorrow though, so not long to wait. All good at the consultant. Referral was due to being on antidepressants, which I'm not embarrassed about so I will tell all on here. Doc quite happy for me to stay on them but I can't breastfeed with them, so she's switching me to a different type that I can breastfeed on. Also had a blood test for Down's syndrome due to baby refusing to get in to the right position when I had my 12 week scan! Hopefully will get results next week.

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2017 12:51

That's great Monty. Maybe I should take DH to my consultant appointment then in case there's a scan.

Lixon · 16/06/2017 15:13

Lovely news Monty!

Oysterbabe how tall are you? I'm only 5'1 so need to double check length before ordering in case they swamp me but that sounds really promising thanks! I also want to pick and mix between the different packages so need to make a decision 🙂

Lovely news on the girl Lapin!

Good luck Carlotta, anxiety is so rubbish and I know exactly how you feel. Im sure all will be very low risk.

I didnt get a scan at my consultant appointment and actually saw a not very helpful junior doctor. I did get a referral for genetic counselling which I've been trying to get for some time and confirmation from the doctor that taking diazepam instead of levothyroxine a few times (the packet is identical!!) was not an issue but not much else. I barely slept last night which probably contributed to (and was caused by) really bad anxiety do I booked myself in for a cheap scan in the City earlier (only £59 with almost immediate availability!) and all is looking fine. I know it's a slippery slope and I am definitely not having any more scans until 20w but it makes me feel a bit better before doing a big announcement at work.

Now to try and do some work!!

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2017 16:00

Ah I'm 5'4 and the leggings are on the long side.

TipTop333 · 16/06/2017 17:22

Just got the results back from my quad screening test (as couldn't do the combined test at dating scan due to difficult baby not getting in right position for nuchal measurement) and I've come back as low risk for downs and NTD which is good. However, I thought they also tested for Trisomy 18 but the results aren't on there. Dr Google tells me it should have been tested for.
Anyone had this test before? Should I follow it up?

Lillygolightly · 16/06/2017 18:04

Hi everyone, finally had my scan today, very pleased to see there was an actual baby in there. The sonographer was great and let my DD's come in and see once it was established all was well. My youngest DD who is 7 declared that we are having an alien 😂

My dates have moved slightly so instead of being 15.1 I am actually 14.4 so new due date is 11/12/17. Sadly I was still to far gone for them to do the Nuchal Measurement so will have to rely on the quad blood test alone. I really hope everything is ok.

Anyway here is a picture of baby...who was very sleepy and refused to move despite lots of poking and prodding so it's a bit blurry. Boy or girl?? Guesses welcome.

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2017 18:24

Congratulations Lilly! I'm going to say girl.

I've never had the quad screening tiptop but I got a combined risk for Edwards and Pataus from the combined test.

Lolabee · 16/06/2017 19:05

What's for dinner??? Starving but not at the same time...... it's a bizarre day.

Welcome to the newcomers and there are some g😍rgeous scan photos.

14+1 today. (I'm probs not on the spreadsheet though cause my mobile hates that sort of thing and I'm putting off getting a pooter till dd needs one for school work (september I think) )

Have some weird feelings going on down below. Can't describe them but a weird twinge every now and then. One of the unexplained joys of stretching I guess.

It's been an interesting couple of days, my grandmother phoned Wednesday saying there was something wrong with her washing machine and it had spilt water everywhere and wasn't on. So I goes round there because I'm not at work and everyone else is before she starts pulling things about and making it worse.......stressful day resulting in a little argument (If I can't pull the washing machine out because I'm pregnant then you can't do it cause you are old 😶. She's 90 soon but it wasn't one of my finest moments.....probably something to do with the bucket I used to scoop the water out had a tiny hole in the bottom of it so it leaked all over my leg 😂 sorted now with a new machine delivered and installed.

My mum and I popped into Mothercare and I've decided I'm going for a silver cross wayfarer but will wait until their October mum 2 be event to buy unless I find a really great deal elsewhere. Also confirmed that cot bed and swing crib from dd is still in their loft so just need new matresses.

Can't believe in 2nd trimester already.
Now to decide which takeaway to get tonight. Chinese, pizza, Turkish, kebab (dont fancy Indian today). Or do i cook and then not fancy it after making whatever

glastogal · 16/06/2017 19:34

Evening guys!! Dinner tonight is chilli cheesy chips with all the cheese and trimmings 😍

Been out all day with my friends and I finally have my first piece of kit!! A baby bouncer 😀 2nd hand but barely used so I'm chuffed to bits with it!!!

Lovely scan lily!! And hurrah for good test results tiptop 🙌

Sounds like a stressful time with your nan Lola but I'm glad it's all sorted.. also, I love love love silver cross but am gutted none of them work for me 😫 hooray for choosing a pram!!

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2017 19:42

We've decided on a mountain buggy being one of the most compact doubles in the market.

For dinner I'm cooking chicken with a crushed cornflake crust (I saw the recipe on some programme the other week, hope it isn't gross) and wedges.

rebs1993 · 16/06/2017 20:56

Does anyone else feel like they have a bump at around 13 and half weeks up not sure if I'm making it up 🙈! Came home from a 12 and half hour shift and the OH had made homemade Nando's wraps with spicy rice!! Amazing. Smile

Thewinedidit · 16/06/2017 21:15

rebs I'm just over 13 weeks and have a really noticeable bump. It just seems to have sprouted the past few days. I don't remember having even a wee bump at this stage with baby 1.

TipTop333 · 16/06/2017 21:19

On the fb group we have lots of proper bump photos!

MontyPants · 16/06/2017 21:24

Booked a private gender scan for Tuesday!!! Eeeeeek! So exciting! DH was a bit jealous that I got to see baby again today at hospital. Will be amazing to know what we're having so we can name him/her

rebs1993 · 16/06/2017 21:44

thewinedidit i have seen people say this is common with 2nd baby, this is my first baby so just was wondering if i could be imagining it 😂

Mrsbluebell17 · 17/06/2017 04:32

Glasto yeah I know the feeling re being too hot with the pillow.

Carley I'm here in the 4am club again. Hope it went well telling work.

I got lucky when I went to see my friend and get newborn this week as she gave me a bag full of maternity clothes. Yay.

Glad went well at your extra appointment monty and that you got an extra scan. I got a deal on wowcher a week or so ago for a £39 4D scan and gender check thing in Derby? Not sure if that's any use as i saw you've booked a private scan too.

Glad all went well for you too Lixon especially with your private scan too.

Nice scan lily congrats!

So we went to the local last night and I had like a BBQ chicken dish and now I feel like I've got what I can only guess as acid reflux. Never had it before but it's like a burning bitter taste in the back of my throat and I feel sick. Is that reflux? Anyone help?

Mrsbluebell17 · 17/06/2017 04:40

Lola yes, I've got those weird feelings and pains too. Makes me worry as I'm a total worrier.

glastogal · 17/06/2017 04:46

Morning mrsB - I'm in the wide awake club this morning.. I feel prickly from the heat and am so awake I'm thinking about actually getting up!!

I'm not sure I've ever had acid reflux, so I can't help you, but that sounds rubbish. Have you got any gaviscon?

I've got my gender scan in less than 8 hours!! ShockShock

CarlottaJo · 17/06/2017 05:47

I'm in enforced wakefulness! 3 hours til my bed, been a nice night though :) Off til Tuesday night after tonight, looks like the sun is going to be out so I'll be like a vampire later haha x

CarlottaJo · 17/06/2017 05:48

@glastogal I'm totally getting pink vibes for you x

CarlottaJo · 17/06/2017 05:49

I have no bump at all, just my normal food baby 😂
