Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

Did a ham in the slow cooker Nigella style (I.e. In Coke) so having that tonight. Mmmmm.

Tootsy I share your problem. I have to leave the house in a few mins to go to my antenatal fitness class but I'm a bit 'stuck' on the toilet. Argh!!

TipTop333 · 14/06/2017 18:08

(Yes I use my phone on the loo)

Angielka · 14/06/2017 18:52

I had pasta with garlic roasted asparagus and Parmesan. It was damn fine.

Enjoy all your events this evening ladies. I cycled to and from work today and will spend my evening on the sofa as a result. Plus I have a yoga class at work tomorrow - first time since getting pregnant. Not sure about shoulder stands... Confused

At the end of my scan today the baby did a big move with her arm. I said to the doc ´did my baby just punch herself in the face?' He was like 'er, yeah, I hoped you hadn't noticed that'. Grin

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 19:02

All those dinners sound lush. Glasto we are going to the mothercare baby event in a couple of weeks so you'll have to let me know if it's any good?

Monkeypuzzle32 · 14/06/2017 19:10

Zaber enjoy sharing with those who are excited for you and waste no more time on your DH's family, all some people think about is themselves-my Mom hadn't called me since I told her 3 weeks ago-given they probably thought it would never happen (age/1st pregnancy) you think she'd be excited but that's just the way they are and I've got used to it to an extent.

Fabulous scans ladies-I am still catching up reading !

Royalsteph · 14/06/2017 19:10

14+3 today. Can definitely feel baby when I poke him/her. Just over 9 weeks left in work. Can't bloody wait to leave this place. We're moving house and having a holiday in-between that so will be slightly less. Busy few weeks coming up. We're having pizza for tea as dh home late and none of us can be bothered to cook.

Oysterbabe · 14/06/2017 19:18

We've just had smoked haddock, boiled potatoes in butter, peas and corn on the cob.

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 19:20

Sounds like a busy time for you Steph.

Zaber* I meant to say try not to stress about the family situation. Sadly people react differently to situations and I've experienced that in the past too, but not with family. Things that frustrate me are the amount of people who said 'I knew it' or 'I thought so' when we told them we were expecting. Not, 'congratulations' or 'that's amazing news' or anything like that. Try and enjoy how excited your DH is for you both, and all the lovely things he keeps doing and getting for baby.
.....Also, was it you that said about the mothercare journey pram? We have been looking at it again online and it's really tempting but it looks like it's nearly 6kg heavier than most other prams? Have you seen it in real life yet? We are hoping to in a few weeks when we go to the mothercare event.

Our seabass was delicious. Yum!

Thewinedidit · 14/06/2017 19:20

Angielka that is a great scan story!

I'm so impressed with ladies that are doing any form of exercise. I'm currently lying on bed in my traditional post dinner slump.

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 19:21

Wine I'm lying on the sofa too. I keep going for a short walk whilst we are away and have had to tell DH I've had enough half way to a few places as I'm just so energy-less after a short while walking!

Bisquick · 14/06/2017 19:43

I'm having pizza. Had a super busy day at work trying to finish everything up before I head off, and just too tired to cook. DH has a work do to go to, so I'm going to try to pack before he's back. It used to be that I could just pack super light when visiting my sister and just "borrow" her clothes. For the first time since she turned 15 we're now completely different sizes so I can't fit in her clothes anymore!

MontyPants · 14/06/2017 20:24

I've just had Caribbean food for tea as a takeaway from a local restaurant. It was amaaaaaazing. Chicken stew, rice & peas, AND dumplings. I am so stuffed. DH had jerk chicken with hot sauce instead of the stew.

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 20:36

Monty that sounds amazing. What area do you live in? Wish we had something like that near us!

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 20:36

Anyone else totally craving dairy? I can't get enough milk to drink at the moment?!

LapinR0se · 14/06/2017 20:41

We had chicken curry for dinner. 32 degrees here today don't know what I was thinking. I am just one big sweatball

MontyPants · 14/06/2017 20:50

Bluebell I'm in Nottinghamshire. There's loads of good places for food here. I also had bubble tea earlier when I went shopping, so that's very milky. I really fancy some nesquik. I read somewhere that we are supposed to have whole milk but it's too thick

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 21:30

Monty ..... wow, really not far from me!!! I'm now going to be googling these Caribbean takeouts to see where in Notts i can get my hands on some yummy food, as I'm not central.....
Never had bubble tea before, may have to give that a go too.

Yeah I used to have skimmed milk previously, from my slimming world days, but now I'm on semi skimmed. I can't cope with whole milk, far too thick and creamy for me. Nesquick is a great idea too!

Lapin, I had curry last night too, although sat in a pub garden so it helped with the heat!

MontyPants · 14/06/2017 21:39

Bluebell go to Cha Time on Long Row if you're in Nottingham city centre, and order "milk tea with pearls, with slight sugar." And there's loads of Caribbean restaurants and takeaways in Radford, just up from the city centre. I'm such a pig foodie

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 21:52

That's great Monty I'll be sure to do that! I'm a foodie too, we live out towards the m1 side of town and have lots of good restaurants and takeaways in our area too. Thanks for the tips!

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 21:54

Which hospital have you gone for Monty? We've gone for city.....

glastogal · 14/06/2017 22:14

We ended up in ASK for dinner - I was angelic and had a salmon and grain salad and my fatso DP had a meatball pasta thing and a massive garlic bread stuffed with cheese.. I gave him evils with every mouthful!!

Mothercare event was ok. Learned a little bit of first aid (enough to convince me I need to go on a course or my offspring is doomed!!) and signed up for more info on baby swimming. Nothing special in store really. They had half price nappy bins but we didn't buy anything (as usual).

MontyPants · 14/06/2017 22:14

Bluebell I live near junc 27. And I've chosen city too!! Maybe we'll bump (pardon the pun) in to each other!

ScotsLamb · 14/06/2017 22:39

NHS scan today. We have moved 3 days from 21st to Christmas Eve. Very jealous of all those who have moved closer in date. Proper wriggly one today who kept turning his back on us then putting his hand over his face. OH thinks girl. I think boy. We are still team yellow and will. W until the end.

Bluebell I can't get enough milk either. I'm struggling to eat dinners with the sickness so it's mostly been milk. I can drink a litre a day. I'm a whole milk kind of girl. Dairy farmers granddaughter 🐄

Hope all is well with everyone. Any other Christmas Eve due dates?

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 22:43

Monty we really are fairly close to each other location wise! That would be funny if we are at city at the same time!!

Mrsbluebell17 · 14/06/2017 22:44

Scots in eating a lot and drinking a lot of milk Shock may be why my tummy is growing so quickly Blush
