Thread #6 for the chatty mums due in December (or thereabouts!).

As we move into the second trimester there will be more dating scans, gender reveals and burgeoning bumps - and hopefully a reduction in nausea!

Ah Lapin and Mary, fabulous news. Onwards to the second trimester! Loving all the nub guesses - I'll have a go with the new ones later, but on first look I'd say all except southy are girls - see a bit of stacking on southy's I think. Fun fun fun.

glastogal · 07/06/2017 13:44

My DP doesn't even want to cut the cord, but also seems to believe he could deliver a baby..

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 13:44

Carley it's the sort of thing he'd brag about for years to come.

My argument is most of our mutual friends could deliver it. Doesn't mean I want them to Grin

glastogal · 07/06/2017 13:45

So glad the scans went well ladies!! Lovely pics of happy wriggly bubbas GrinGrin

Carley27 · 07/06/2017 13:48

I think my DH would faint if he tried to deliver a baby Grin

If I was far away from a hospital it would probably put me off but ours is only 10 minutes away in our little town.
The only thing putting me off the thought of one is the mess that could be made.. 😂 I want to join a home birth group on Facebook so I can ask about all these crazy thoughts but we haven't announced yet and don't want things like that popping up so it will just have to wait!

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 13:48

Ohhhh Grin just to challenge you Japan

I certainly can't see a nub 😂 I'm clearly raising an awkward and fidgety child. Like it's mother.

Lovely scan Lapin!

Carley27 · 07/06/2017 13:48

I am looking forward to seeing him change a nappy though..

Hmm I am guessing boy for zaber

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 13:50

Tootsy another thought ... where do you empty the pool water? Does the dirty (potentially pooey and afterbirthy) water go down the sin? Is there some sort of pump so you can water the plants with it?

biginjapan · 07/06/2017 13:50

I'm afraid I don't think I can see one zaber, but if pushed I'd go for boy... what are you thinking?

Anyone waiting or had harmony results? Any idea how long they are taking at the mo?

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 13:55

Grin Carley and Japan I honestly have no idea! We'll find out either way on the 17th, so it's just a few days to wait.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 07/06/2017 13:55

Oh @Zaberwocky - thanks to your post further google research brought up this website which should hopefully help in my conversation with whatever junior doctor I get on the emergency line tomorrow!

Thank you 😄

glastogal · 07/06/2017 14:00

zaber - my gender scan is 17th too.. exciting day!! What time is your scan?

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 14:05

Glasto 10:50 Grin what time is yours?

Did you manage to get into a local one? Or are you having to go a bit further afield?

glastogal · 07/06/2017 14:09

12:30 Grin it's local, right by our IVF clinic actually, so I don't even need to learn a new route!! How about you?

Can't believe it's only a week and a half away Shock

Carley27 · 07/06/2017 14:24

Glasto & Zaber how far along will you be when you have your gender scan?

TipTop333 · 07/06/2017 14:27

Ooh okay so 2 votes for boy for me. That fits with my own thoughts too but I was convinced dd was a boy so I am also adamant that there is no such thing as instinct for sex of baby, just very good guesses! (And very poor ones in my respect).

Lapin and Mary I am so pleased for you both!!! Brown discharge can bugger off for all the anxiety it causes!

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 14:41

Carley I'll be 16+1.

Glasto Didcot Grin so not too bad. But not really en route to Norfolk!

Bisquick · 07/06/2017 15:04

Woah such a busy morning you chatty bunch! Catching up on all the posts now. Don't know anything about nub theory but we'll find out sex from the blood tests. We should get the results tomorrow of the SAFE test for the trisomies and I'm honestly just petrified. Haven't been able to sleep properly in days, took the day off today to try to sleep but just tossing and turning and miserable. Sigh! Anyone with any words of wisdom on coping?
Glad I don't have to go queue up at the voting booth tomorrow - voted earlier - but feeling so weirdly nervous about the election too. Not sure why - it isn't rational. As much as one can vehemently disagree with Tories or Labour it's not like either is Donald Trump y'know?

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 15:10

Bisquick I think pregnancy is a valid reason for getting a bit more 'involved' in things than usual. I think being nervous as well is round fair, it's the unknown, and this could have a huge impact on our children's future. Or it could not.

I know that's not really helpful, but it justifies your feelings! You're not irrational.

All you can do is try your best to distract yourself, find yourself a good series to binge watch, start making a baby wish list, go on a Pinterest rampage and plan their first birthday party! Focus on all the happy things Smile

Or if you're me ... an excessive deep clean of the house!

Zaberwocky · 07/06/2017 15:11

... I clearly typed round because I was poking my stomach examining it whilst typing that ...

CarlottaJo · 07/06/2017 15:14

My scan is tomorrow @Bisquick and I'm the same, no sleep, an immaculate house and dinner made. Bath next. Distractions at their best, feel weirdly detached from the whole thing, think as self protection in case it's bad news. We will go vote before scan, school is literally two seconds from our house, then I'm nights so hoping it will be quiet to see it all unfold! X

CarlottaJo · 07/06/2017 15:15

Haha @Zaberwocky we've been simultaneously scrubbing today!
