OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 16:49

Well I am going to still go out and do a tesco shop, which for me is a big thing, may kill me or you never know my waters could go in the fruit and veg section.
I think a hot curry may be on the menu tonight.
Sex is out of the question.
Any other ideas to see if we can't get this party started?

liath · 19/03/2007 16:51

I stick a finger inside the wrap (unhygienic? Moi? ) to check for wet nappies. dd is in a disposible at night so that lasts the 12 hours. When she was little I'd only change at night if she'd poo'd but I'm planning to go cloth at night with this one so would change if they were sopping wet but probably not bother if just damp.

flumppootle · 19/03/2007 16:55

Hiya

Sorry for not catching up properly but have had conjunctivitus (both eyes) since last week and my vision is still blurred.

After a long and very stressful six weeks we have finaly sold our house - WOOOHOOOO!!!
We will be able to make the entry date in Scotland. Am so relieved could just sit and weep
Have nine weeks to pack the house/have a baby/ and move

Katy, hope that you have had some good news on yours too.

1B3, your bumps looks so sore! Could weep for you too Maybe the twins have listened to your pleas and are on the way???
That would be SO exciting!
Labour vibes for both you and oooggsss, measuring 52 weeks sounds so ouch.

Will catch up properly soon, cant wait for our first baby on this thread - COME ON BABIES

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 16:59

Maveta- when they are young they usually let you know when they need to be changed, I personally would never wake up a sleeping baby to change a wet nappy, a shitty one then I would try and do it without waking baby up.
I used to lean over into DD cot and give her bum a good sniff, if still in doubt then I would do what laith said and stick my finger in the side.

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 17:01

Mind you maveta I have only used disposable nappies so it may be different with the re-usable, can't remember what you are planning to use.

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 17:11

flumppootle, glad you've got the house sold!

maveta · 19/03/2007 17:13

Congrats flumppootle! I´m so pleased for you! If ever you wanted your baby to come early.. I think you´ve got enough stuff on your plate now to just about guarantee it! great news!

1b3 - will be using cloth (hopefully) and I see your point about not waking a sleeping baby

Liath - would that apply to daytime (cloth) nappies too then? You wouldn´t change it if it´s just damp? Esp. using cloth I´m keen to not change more than necessary as I´ll run out of nappies in no time, esp. with first timer nervousness but of course will also be paranoid about being a negligent mother and leaving my baby in a damp nappy!

OH MY GOD I CAN´T BELIEVE I´M GOING TO HAVE A BABY. Who let me do this? What were they thinking? I don´t know what I´m doing, I´m not fit to be a mother God Help my poor innocent child waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

maveta runs off screaming

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 17:14

maveta - you are and it will be fine.

Me on the other hand - who on earth ever thought this would be a good idea AAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH

(Katy runs off screaming as well)

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 17:16

Getting back to the important things - help again with the quiz please - the "think quickly" one with the bomb going off - I think that's just too much to ask of me at the moment!
Also, haven't got a CLUE what to do with the cat one, always just skip past it

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 17:18

Flump-totally missed you house selling news first time round D'oh.
Congratulations, now the fun sarts, I bet you don't want to think about what is ahead do you. GULP!

octopussyintummy · 19/03/2007 17:19

wooooohhhoooooo 1b3

Quick post before tea - I only change at night if poo but tbh they poo so often when little that change regularly anyway - even if just the pooey liner! When they get bigger and sleep for longer would def only do if wet. With a fleece liner in your nappies maveta - no need to worry about wetness at all really.

Right ...back to dinner!

octopussyintummy · 19/03/2007 17:20

sorry - only do if poo! Never wake a sleeping baby in this house!

maveta · 19/03/2007 17:24

LOL Katy - at least I´m not alone!

Thanks Octo - speaking of fleece liners.. where IS that blanket to cut up...? Weeonion, nip over here and get handy would you?

I´m off for a bath.. catch up with you all shortly x

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 17:26

Well we didn't sell the house
Never mind, wasn't looking forward to having to move by the end of May.

liath · 19/03/2007 17:28

Maveta, as time has gone on, dd's nappies have needed to be wetter & wetter to merit a change . Also, she is a champion at pooping so often it's a poo that prompts a change.

Wahay, Flump, what great news. When is the big day? We'll have to have a gathering for the Scottish contingent to welcome you up.

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 17:32

On the other hand, have sorted the quiz - didn't realise you could skip the bomb one!!

flumppootle · 19/03/2007 17:42

Katy and Maveta - LOL
Thanks for kind words ladies, am still wandering about like a space cadet....could go and get the ironing out of the boot I suppose seems to have lived there for the past six weeks

Sorry that your house didn't sell Katy.
I really wouldn't be moving if I didn't have to at the moment but we a legal date to move by in Scotland Has made the selling very stressful, lots of tears shed.

Liath, our entry date is the 18th May! Would love a meet up when we make landfall

Any action yet 1B3?????

octopussyintummy · 19/03/2007 17:49

Congratulations flumpootle - maybe we should have a south west meet up before you go and send you off to the frozen north!

Maveta - my wambamboo/bamineo arrived today - have put all the different nappies in order of favourites

DH home early - sitting with boys for dinner - ours is nearly ready - timing issue on my part! They are having the remains of yesterdays roast and we are having jacket potatoes with tuna & sweetcorn & cheese.

We are having another nit checking night tonight! yyyeuauuuuuuueeerrrkkkkkgghhhh Boots do conditioner for 32p - cheapest death possible for those little buggers!

flumppootle · 19/03/2007 18:04

Sounds good octoupussy!

Yak to nit checking, they have started going around dds class so I dashed off to Boots for some of that Nits Quits Repellant spray (someone on the thread recommende it )

I have just found my deoderant in the fridge eh?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/03/2007 18:07

Flump, fab news on the house - hope everything runs smoothly.

1b3 exciting stuff - bring it on!!

Katy, sorry you didn't get the offer on your house.

Hello everyone else - being a bit crap as feel ropy - as if coming down with something. Fortunately dh is home early - for once!

Back later. xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/03/2007 18:09

Flump, pmsl at your deodrant being in the fridge! Madness!!

We had to do Hedrin again at the weekend, as Full Marks Mousse did nothing. So peed off with it now.

maveta · 19/03/2007 18:17

Sorry about the house Katy44 but can imagine it is partly a relief aswell.

Octo - tell me, tell me, what is your order then? I got hold of a couple of second hand wambamboos but they are kind of crispy like a crunchy towel.. I know people say to wash with vinegar but with vinegar AND soap or vinegar once and then soap after? Very confused (what´s new?!). Sis arrives on thurs with the bamboozle and sandy´s that I ordered so can´t wait to see them AND I was a bit naughty and bought a swaddlebee velour but it was so cute. Think dh might cut the internet connection to stop me shopping.

My bath was FABULOUS and am sitting here all pink and smelling of brazil nuts (body shop cream) drinking an even more fabulous smoothy - frozen cranberries, frozen banana and orange juice.. to anyone who doesn´t already do smoothies - GET ON IT! They are sooooo good.

Fanko · 19/03/2007 18:20
