Katy44 · 19/03/2007 11:28

gmm - I know what you mean about Durham, although I havn't been in for a while. Which shops were you thinking of?

geordiemacminx · 19/03/2007 11:36

poor 1b3 that looks so sore - is there nothing they can give you?

Katy, well there were quite a few shop in the new walk thing that are closed - icluding maccy d's - they never close!!!!

I was talking to the woman in mugwump, she was saying there had been a huge hike in the rents from the introductory rents that they had been offered when that bit first opened - its a shame really cos people will stop going, then more shops will close.

Any news on the house yet?

liath · 19/03/2007 11:37

Ooh, 1b3 your poor tum . Those twins need to listen to their mummy and come OUT!

Just been to the park with dd. Was a lovely sunny morning then as soon as we left it clouded over and started snowing. Didn't stop dd belting around like a loon but now we're both defrosting under a blanket on the sofa, brrrr!

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 11:44

they have given me cream for it but it doesn't seem to do anything, so I put DD sudo cream on it, at least that stops the itching a bit.

No wonder DH wont sleep with me!

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 11:48

That candle shop (opposite BHS) closed, and put up a fairly strange note, think there was some problem with their rent too. It's a superdrug-type place now.
I miss that bookshop that used to be near vennels

Thanks for asking about the house. The people who came to look round over the weekend were deciding between us and others as they've now sold. So I'm sat by the phone waiting for it to ring!

nuttygirl · 19/03/2007 11:52

Well have been trying to catch up!!! Can't remember much tho

1b3 - that looks really painful. I feel v stretched can't imagine what it's like for you. Utmost respect to you and Ooogs...I have no idea how you guys manage.

Oogs - love the names you've picked, hope you don't mind that DH & I have chosen Erin Grace!

CD - sorry to hear about the car bump you had. Taxi's are a PITA, in fact round here they're downright dangerous...next time take pleasure in the fact you're holding one up!!!

Bugmum · 19/03/2007 11:53

Hi All,
Haven't posted for a thousand years, but then as I don't post much anyway, no one noticed

Have had my FOURTH bad cough of this pregnancy (just getting over it now) and DS has had a cold as well. Also, have very itchy nipples - what's that about? Don't remember it from last time. And I have something horrible happening to the skin at the bottom of my bump, as though it is preparing to become elephant's scrotum once I have popped. Lovely.

Am waiting for the carpet man to come to fit a nice offcut in the nursery (the benefits of having such a tiny room). But this is the MOST inconvenient time, as DS has his nap now (when he has one). And who arranged this? Could it be DP by any chance? Mind you, he is an absolute gem really, and given what I've been reading on here, I really mustn't complain at all.

Am 35+1 today; I feel very left behind some of you forward ladies!
xx

Bugmum · 19/03/2007 11:54

1becomes3 - OW!!! Oh my goodness, wishing you a swift return to a trouble-free tum

eca · 19/03/2007 12:03

aloha

back from docs with huge bottle of gaviscon (daren't say my sm!!) and 4 inhalers all for free. Hurrah, that would have cost me a small fortune!

Liath - i haven't sent my forms off yet. In fact it's getting a bit embarrassing. I had one, filled it in and then it disappeared, neither me nor dh can remember posting it. Then I got another, filled it in and lost that too. So now I've had to get another today! Am worried they think I'm pulling some kind of scam!!

WaspElly - can't believe your dh yesterday!!!! I think we should round up all the dh's who failed miserably at mothers day and punish them! Not sure how though ...

Wo - no, not working this week, got a couple of weeks off after my latest sick-spell! Am deciding if i can be bothered to go back for a couple of weeks. Maybe it would be good to haul myself of the sofa a little bit! The weather is lovely here. Sun's shining and not a hint of snow! Very at your blankets! Might have to think about getting the sewing machine out! Did you get the daisys done???

Nutty - lo at you having a tree, not a baby!!!

1b3 - awwww. You poor love. They look painful! Surely your dh will take pity on you soon!!!

Katy - end of the world one you click on the ! at the end of the sentence.

Hi SOSPL! What do you mean you can't sit on here all day? Should i be doing something else???

eca · 19/03/2007 12:06

oooo... katy fingers crossed for a good phone call!

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 12:16

I've just been to the post office (a ten minute waddle each way) and on the way back I got caught in quite a heavy snowstorm!

eca - thanks for the solution, off to try it now - I want to be up to 82 as that's where everyone else seems to be stuck

nuttygirl · 19/03/2007 12:28

Katy - poor u getting caught in a snowstorm, it was like that here yesterday (although strangely sunny at times too!).

mammyjo · 19/03/2007 12:29

Afternoon! Have been to gp this morning for big bottle of Gaviscon. I am getting acid up into the back of my throat and it burns. Really horrible so will have to keep on with the minty you know what!

Hope everyone is ok. Only a quick post at the mo, need to put the food shopping away and sort dinner for tonight. Have been super organised and done a menu for each week night meal. Have been finding it difficult to think of things to make every night now I am home on ML. Should be cheaper too as I have been going to the supermarket nearly every day!

weeonion · 19/03/2007 12:31

eca - daisies are all done! the curtains look lovely - very pleased with them. i have ran out of thread so off for a waddle into glasgow to find more so can get cot bumper done. i am normally creative but mat leave seems to have brought out a more manic streak!

weeonion · 19/03/2007 12:59

just got a text back fom dooby - she is fine. taking shelter from teh weather and nursing poorly dh. all ok tho - no baby to report as yet!

octopussyintummy · 19/03/2007 13:02

Good lord you lot are chatty! Love the thread title Priority for an octopussy delivery will be given to 1B3 and oogggs as we get double to coo over!

Can't remember anything - all gone blank! Lots of folk seem to be ill/been to doctors again - hope all well soon xoxoxoxo

Weeonion seems to be having some serious nesting instincts and being very creative - I have to confess I did give in and buy a noo noo!

My strep B test came back negative which is great news - must remember to tell midwife on wednesday.

Need to do some cleaning - so will catch up later.

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 13:03

Glad your strep B test was fine octo!
What's a noo noo?

octopussyintummy · 19/03/2007 13:06

its a very very cute kind of security blanket with little tags and embroidery - one of those things which you know you don't need but MUST have!

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 13:16

My god, I only just realised that I missed out on a whole thread over the weekend!

You lot were busy!!!

octopussyintummy · 19/03/2007 13:19

They were all drunk - Fanko and Katy served us all drinks from the bar and the convo deteriorated somewhat

runnyhabbit · 19/03/2007 13:21

afternoon all

Thought labour had started last night!!!!! Had been having niggly back pains all day. So had a bath about 5ish, and really seemed to help. Thought it was just BH until I realised that they weren't easing off when I sat on my exercise ball. Then as soon as dh started to time them, they stopped! Dh told me he was secretly pleased, because he wanted the house to be tidied up before a homebirth!

1b3 - that looks so sore x

WO - amazed at your creativeness (sp?) My mum is like that - she just has to imagine something, and she can do it. Very of you.

Mammyjo - know what you mean about menu planning. I try and make pies and stuff on a Sunday ready for the week. Hard work for a few hours, but saves so much faffing around during the week

katy - good luck with the house

sospl - glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't fit into their maternity clothes even dh t-shirts are being stretched to their limits
Is anyone else finding that underneath their bump is getting very sweaty and (hope your not having lunch) pooing a lot? it seems that everytime I eat something, half and hour later I'm on the toilet. I'm feeling fine, and its not diarroeha (sp?) My mum seems to think its just my body building up to labour, and getting rid of anything I don't need? Which kind of makes sense, but I don't remember being like this with ds.

oooggs · 19/03/2007 13:27

Hi all I'm knackered, hardly slept last night, but made up for it this morning after I had taken ds to nursery

1B3 - can relate to your belly hun and hardly any of my clothes fit

runnyhabbit - my bump sits on my knees unless I am lying straight so get very sweaty & uncomfortable

Nuttygirl - great choice of dd name

Now 36+4 and look and measure 52weeks

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 13:33

Please tell me you are kidding about measuring 52 weeks oooggs

I'm so glad they don't bother measuring me, i think it would depress me more if I knew what sort of size I am.

I'm right behind you oooggs 35 weeks today

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 13:37

runnyhabit - have you had any more? Or do they seem to have gone for good?
Bump doesn't get sweaty, but I've just looked at it and realised it's hairy!! Never noticed that before! I've also noticed the poo thing as well - am going a lot more often than usual.
Well, bet you all really wanted to know that!
