PMSL katy!

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:20

yeah, NHS ones, i went with matthew, they were much better than i expected, not much of a 'teambuilding' type person bt they were ok. refused to watch the videos tho, i hve to go thro it, i don't want to watch it beforehand

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 21:22

We got the breastfeeding video which was a bit clinical and patronising - but the MW wasn't at all and is fantastic. Hope she's on duty when I'm in labour.

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:25

ooh no, we had the full-on, 80's perms, mothercare nighties, labour videos

bf workshop was done on another day, didn't go to that as i am firmly of the opinion that it is something you can only really learn with your child, sure you can learn the techniques and theory on a doll but every baby is different.

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:25

and don't think i don't know what you're up to katy, you're staying awake late just to get the posts over 400 so we can have a new thread

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:30

northern bastard or southern fairy?

found this test on another thread, just a quick one this time, promise it won't take over your life like the last one

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:35

apparently i'm a northern bstard, despite only ever having ventured further than uttoxeter a few times in my life

nuttygirl · 20/03/2007 21:39

1b3 - sorry you're feeling so down. hope you feel better soon.

Ellie - I did that quiz earlier (I'm a northerner which is true). DH also came out as a northerner....much to his disappointment so he did it again and cheated!!!

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:43

katy have you disappeared just to proove that you can?

so, new thread time?

oooggs · 20/03/2007 21:43

Please keep posting 1B3 - I need to relate to you otherwise I will be super moaning on my own xxxxxxxxx

Well last night the contractions started and I was up all night, determined it was not going to be another false alarm I waiting until 7pm before ringing the labour ward who wanted me in.

DH and I dropped ds at nursery and got to delivery at 8.30am this morning. On the monitor the twins were fine but contractions subsiding .

SHO said they would induce but registrar said no. Very upset and unhappy. Sent to ward at midday, DH and I dived to the pub for lunch then back to the ward for 2pm. No contractions, no infections and no reason to stay.

Asked at 3.30pm if I could go home (my next question was going to be about self discharge ) she let me go at 4.30pm so we went back to nursery to collect ds.

I am very tired, extremely upset and uncomfortable. Seeing the consultant at 9.30am tomorrow and I am not leaving without a induction date.

Sorry not personal but I don't have the energy. Hope to catch up more tomorrow. xx

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:44

hey nutty, how are you?

nice to have some company this late at night

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:45

oh oooggs

must be soooooo frustrating for you.

Bugmum · 20/03/2007 21:47

Ellie - did you see my complaint earlier? You cost me a fortune!

Bugmum · 20/03/2007 21:50

Oh, our poor twin mums. Ib3 - please do talk to your MW. And oogs - here's hoping for some action tomorrow

nuttygirl · 20/03/2007 21:53

Hey Ellie - my brain's not working v well today so not sure I'll be much company!

Oogs - how annoying, fingers crossed something happens soon.

Pesha · 20/03/2007 21:53

Im a southern fairy but i knew that already. In my mind theres a line that runs from the river severn to that bit where it comes in in the east above london (I'm great at geography me!), anything above that is NORTH. Although my sister was born in leeds and my mum was born in scotland but they were just temporary stops, we is all southern really. My dad was just telling me that all his family, or the men anyway, have been born in london going back to 1500's, feel like i have let the side down having my boy in somerset of all places But then as i said he had a daughter in leeds so who is he to judge?!

WestCountryLass · 20/03/2007 21:54

Ooogs and 1B3, I hope your babies come soon, hang on in there!

EllieK · 20/03/2007 21:57

bugmum

i'm on commission (i wish!)

they do seem to be a good place to buy from tho, got my text and email last night to tell me my order was dispatched so i knew to wait in today!

Pesha · 20/03/2007 21:58

Sorry x posted with everyone there doing quiz and then insulting at the very least half the people on here and by my definition of north prob alot more that that love you all really

Oooogs - that must be so frustrating for you, hope consultant appointment tomorrow goes well and you get yourself a date

Birdiebump · 20/03/2007 22:14

I'm a southern fairy - what a surprise! Although we too might be moving up to Scotland in a year or so.....

1b3 and Ooogs thoughts go out to you both. I can't believe you've coped as well as you have so far. I'm not sleeping either and totally can't get comfortable with just the one so I can only imagine what you are both going through. But you really are nearly there - keep lurking! It's all I have the energy to do most of the time....

Pesha · 20/03/2007 22:14

Saw my mw today, told her spd was very bad and had been referred for physio but seemed bit late as im 36 weeks. She said oh well you could still have another 6 weeks Yes, ok, technically i could but not really what i wanted to hear. And student mw tried to do my blood test (which should have been done weeks ago apparently but noone at hospital bothered ) and messed it up so have big bruise on my arm now. And i have glucose in me piss but she gonna wait and see if it still there next week when i have to see consultant as it was only a little bit so no GTT just yet. But she did write in my notes that i dont want to keep seeing mental health team and if i feel i do need to i will see my gp about it, so in other words stop hassling me about it!! Baby is head down, back now to the right but not engaged and she said probably wont be till im in labour as this is not my first.

duchesse · 20/03/2007 22:17

I think you ladies who are expecting twins are doing brilliantly to still be pregnant! The longer they stay in, the better, even if it is super-uncomfortable. Hang in there. Good luck to you, and to all of you.

EllieK · 20/03/2007 22:21

at last they listen to you Pesha

and hi Duchesse, good to know you're still following us and our madness

Pesha · 20/03/2007 22:27

Feeling abit funny today, bit down but not really sad, bit not all there really, vague and um dont know how to describe it really. Dont know why im still sat here talking to myself when i really should be in bed I think.
Was dps birthday today which is always abit hard for him i think althouh he doesnt say anything but yesterday would have been his dad's birthday only his dad died when he was about 3 so I think thats always on his mind. But i cocked up the cake, couldnt find him any decent presents, ds was a little sod and dd is ill so didnt really do a good job of making it a good day for him but he says he enjoyed it.

EllieK · 20/03/2007 22:29

sorry you are low Pesha, some days are just like that

try to keep thinking tomorrow will be better!

and yes, getting some sleep rather than staying on here encouraging me to sty up too would probably be a good idea
