was I meant to be helping to serve the drinks? Wondered why Ellie kept handing me so many - no wonder I was hungover on Sunday!

runnyhabbit · 19/03/2007 13:47

no more pains, but back is still really niggly iykwim.

oooggs - omg - 52weeks

runnyhabbit · 19/03/2007 13:51

Question for those planning a homebirth. Have you been given a birthing pack? I've had my prebirth appt, where we discussed birth plan etc, but on some other threads, I've noticed a lot of people talking about these packs that their mw has given them. All my mw said I needed to get was a shower curtain, and they'll provide everything else. Does that mean they'll bring it when the time comes?

Birdiebump · 19/03/2007 14:06

Hi everyone - busy weekend ladies!!

No notes so will try to be quick before I forget everthing.

Runnyhabit - they will drop of the homebirth pack to you well before your due date. It will have some stuff that you will need to keep in the fridge. I can't remember the rest but they will take you through it.

1B3 and Ooogs - ouch and ooo respectively!!

Had a lovely but v busy mothers day. DH bought flowers, cooked Sunday lunch, took DS2 out for an airing, and humped stuff in and out of attic as we got room ready for LO. WeeOnion - my Amby Nest is now also up and looks very cute! Also have mostly packed hospital bags. Got wonderful card from DS's along with chocolates and a little cuddly elephant. Bit worrying that I thought DS1's (age 14) handwriting was DS2's (age 3) though........

And had scan and saw consultant today and it's all good! She has turned back to head down and they have given me the all clear to have her in the midwife unit. Now all we need is for her to come on time or early (never happened to me yet.....).

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 14:21

That's good news!

mmk · 19/03/2007 14:28

hello all - have made it to the library computer, as ours still isn't repaired yet. Have made it here, even though ds had the MOTHER of all tantrums, starting at 6am this morning. After 2 hours, we gave up on him! DH took him to nursery, where he was just fine. I however, stayed home to nurse my cough and cold, and cried all morning!

Was delighted to check out the posts, and see that all my current ailments are being suffered but others, ie mat trousers not fitting, funny stuff going on under bump, etc.

computer guy came, and spent ages tinkering inside the box, but I wanted him to check the switch on the outside,as I knew DS had pulled the wire out. Finally, he did check there, and told me the wire was out, so I said 'ohhhh, is it'? with my puzzled face. New parts will arrive this week.

Anyone wlse got hormone fever? it feels like boiling porridge being pumped through my brain and body.

Best wishes all
MMK

Dd has been running riot, she had a chocolate biscuit which melted all over her hands, when I attempted to wipe her hands she ran off and wipped them down my patio doors
Then she bolted when I took her dirty nappy off and I have been cleaning poo out of the carpet, off the kitchen floor and the wall

So i have just sat her down on the couch to check out a new program on cbeebies, "the night garden", what a pile of crap, just like the teletubbies don't think she will be watching that again, she keep coming up to me and squeaking at me!

She has been attempting to put one of my support stockings on, it is quite funny to watch, makes me a bit less angry at her.

I think she can go back to bed in a bit!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/03/2007 14:41

Afternoon all.

1b3, your poor tummy. I really feel for you sweetheart. Hope the babes come soon and all will be better. xx

Oogs, keeping my fingers crossed for your babes to arrive soon as well. I cannot even begin to think how you must feel.

WO, you are putting me to shame with all your creativity! I think it is wonderful and am just jealous that I am so NOT creative!

Runny, hope you are ok today and the pains have subsided.

Liath, hope you have defrosted.

Birdie - good to see you and glad that babe has turned.

eca/Mammyjo, enjoy the minty sp* - eughhhhh!

I have forgotten everything else - hopeless.

I have just woken up after a 2 hour nap! Felt awful when I woke up, but have just stuffed some cauliflower cheese and feel human again. The bloody glands are up in my armpit again though and really quite sore

Anyway, better haul my arse out of this chair and do some more sorting.

See you later lovelies. x

runnyhabbit · 19/03/2007 14:53

1b3 - just watched the night garden programme too - what a load of rubbish - totally agree its just like the blooming teletubbies. Ds watching The Roly Mo Show, which he absolutley loves

Birdiebump - I'm 37 wks tomorrow, so should I have had the pack by now? My next appt is a week Thursday, when I'll be 38+2.

mmk - haven't got the boiling porridge going through my body - just a brain that feels like its on a go slow speed

claricebean · 19/03/2007 15:03

1b3 - the picture of your bump with the foot is amazing!!!!

Well my mum arrives in half an hour - hurrah! Getting them ready for school this morning was grim. DS was so upset about his leg he didn't want to do anything and screamed at getting dressed, having breakfast, having painkillers etc. DD2 sobbed all the time we were getting ready because her bottom is sore - sigh - it does actually look red raw but what does she expect if she plays in wet knickers all day without telling me. Even sudocrem didn't help apparently, although she seems fine now. She's nearly five, by the way, so old enough to mention wet pants. Anyway, I now have cover until after the birth.

WO - v impressed with your creativity.

Octo - glad your strep B was negative. I get my results tomorrow. I was positive with DD2 but negative with DS.

Sorry about the DH debacles on Mother's Day.

mmk · 19/03/2007 15:11

Clarice - what a tough start to the day?
ds peed his trousers yesterday-not really a problem (although he has been potty trained for weeks) but he was leaning on my leg, and I was asleep on the sofa. I woke up with a warm, wet leg thinking 'ohhh, ohhh, could that be...no, I'm only 35 weeks...

Ah, well, good luck to you all, until I can get in touch again..

runny, hope you get used to slow head! I quite like it now.

claricebean · 19/03/2007 15:16

mmk, LOL at your DS's waters breaking on you. .

Birdiebump · 19/03/2007 15:32

Sorry Runny - had a little sleep there! I think you should phone & ask re your homebirth pack, tbh. It does sound like they are cutting it a little bit fine. I seem to remember having mine a good 3+ weeks before my due date.

SOSPL - slow down!

Better haul my bump over the road to buy the dinner......

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 19/03/2007 15:32

MMK, I have a dirty mind, but pmsl at

"hope you get used to having slow head, I quite like it now"!!!!!

Sorry, I am FOUL!

runnyhabbit · 19/03/2007 15:43

lol - sospl - you have such a dirty mind!

mammyjo · 19/03/2007 15:51

Hi everyone. Mmk, good to know you are still around and doing ok. Lol at your waters on your leg! Hopefully you will be back online at home soon.

Runny, I am not as organised as you making food over the weekend! I have planned what we will be eating each evening this week though and been shopping for all the stuff I need so hopefully wont need to revisit tescos. Seem to spend half my life there and most of my money too so hoping this way might be a bit cheaper.

Oooggs, eek at 52 weeks measurement. God, I thought I was uncomfortable but dont have anything on you!

1b3, your poor tum looks so sore. Hopefully it can get back to normal pretty soon. Dont envy you the poo cleaning task today!

Birdie, great news that the baby has turned.

Clarice, hope your mum arrived safely. How is your dh doing? At long last you have some extra support. Dont know how you have been coping these last weeks on your own with the children.

Octo, really pleased your strep test was negative. One less thing to worry about. I will be getting antibiotics in labour after ds being infected at birth last time.

Sorry to anyone I have forgotten. Enjoy the rest of your afternoons ladies xxx

mammyjo · 19/03/2007 15:53

Had to go back and read that as wasnt quite sure about the slow head thing! I get it now. Doesnt take much to lose me at the moment. SOSPL, your mind is in the gutter!

eca · 19/03/2007 15:54

Runny - no homebirth pack here. They said they're going to give me a list of things to get, which mainly consists of a shower curtain and a desk lamp to do stiches (ouch). And to have a changing mat for them to put baby on and some warm towels and clothes for lo. Oh, and went to docs today coz if we want pethidine we have to go and get it ourselves (along with the anti-sickness drug) as they don't carry it. Am hoping not to use it, but want it on standby. Would ask you mw about it, in my SIL's area they aren't allowed to give it at home so it was g&a only.

MMK - hello! hope you are doing ok.

CB - soooo pleased to hear your mum's arriving. Hope she looks after you and the dc a bit and gives you a bit of time and breathing space to recoup after all your trials and prepare for labour!

maveta · 19/03/2007 16:18

Well I´ve left work early, my back was killing me and I just couldn´t get comfy so my lovely colleague and friend drove me home. Feel much better now I´m at home again, think I´m going to run a bath and have some quiet time.

Weeonion - I know, that trilogy IS really good, I really enjoyed it and just knew dh would too.. unfortunately due to coming home early I´ve not stopped off to buy him the last part, will try and get it for him tomorrow. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job with all the creativity, good on you. I´m all talk and no action with that kind of thing!

1b3 - [blowing get better soon kisses at your tummy] and ooogs - WOW at 52 weeks.. what a pair of little heffalumps you have in there. Don´t your twins know they are supposed to be little and come early?

Claricebean - good luck for your strep results and Octo YAY for yours.. I think I´m getting tested at the same time as my scan on friday but it´s not very clear.. really hope I don´t suffer preggers brain and completely forget to ask them about it as I am 35 weeks tomorrow so they really need to be doing it now. Most things are going in one ear and out the other at the moment.

Runny - promising signs you were having, no? Come on you lot with all these symptoms - stop teasing us and have a baby already I´m happy to be the first! PICK ME PICK ME PICK ME!

1becomes3 · 19/03/2007 16:35

TMI ALERT

Don't get all excited on me cause this is probably nothing but..........

Just had a shower to wash some DD poo out of my hair (don't ask)

Anyway was drying my downstairs department and I noticed a HUGE bit of ummmmmm well snot
I have had little bit's here and there over the past couple of days but nothing this big. (was HUGE)

Trying not to get my hopes up as I know it most probably means nothing with this not being my first pg.
I have everthing but my legs crossed hopeing that we see some action soon.

liath · 19/03/2007 16:40

Oooh, how exciting! Sounds like a show, hope it's The Start of Something (unlike mine).

charNbump · 19/03/2007 16:40

hi ladies, i have posted a question on the main pregnancy question board called "36 weeks oh the pain" would appreciate any feedback. 1b3 - how exciting for you!!! i'll keep my fingers crossed! x

Katy44 · 19/03/2007 16:41

1b3 is in the running....
octo will be going mad!

Tili · 19/03/2007 16:43

hi all,
just popping in to see how everyone is.

Nothing to report here apart from I dont think baby has moved to head down yet although im sure beth thinks im mad waving my bum in the air for a good twenty mins every now and again during the day to encourage him to turn.
1b3 what do you mean dont get excited your talking to the wrong people hope it could be the start of something for you as it must be feeling a little bit much now.Maybe you should try out a few things now to encourage labour.

Going to try and catch up properly.
Take care all xxx

Sorry theres no personals need to catch up properlyxx

maveta · 19/03/2007 16:47

1b3 - of COURSE we´re going to get excited - we don´t have anything else to GET excited about these days!

Quick and really stupid question coming up... on the nappy board there´s a question about changing at night, whether you should bother if it´s only wet.. so how do you know it´s just wet - do you just smell, open the side of the nappy and have a peek? I know I should probably know but I don´t!!

And do YOU guys change at night if it´s just a pee?

So many questions!
