Mine kicks all over the place, sometimes right down in my pelvis and sometimes high up...and every where in between. He has decided he doesn't like me sleeping on my right and kicks me really hard until I move.

I'm looking at finishing work on 6th October which doesn't feel far off.

theotherendofthesockportal · 14/08/2017 18:15

I've had something strange happen to me today. For about the last two hours I have felt pain in the ribs, specifically on the right hand side. I feel like they are about to crack open.

I came home and asked my husband to remove my bra (he was delighted) I couldn't reach. I wanted to see if that relieved the pain, which it had to a certain extent. Husband has said that bump has moved up and that ribs look bigger.

Going to buy a bra in the next size up from the supermarket tonight and attempt to go to bravissimo on a day off next week.

Has anyone else had the ribs about to explode feeling?

@lydiangel83 I'm sure one cup of liquorice tea won't harm you. I've been drinking a lot of turemic milk to ward off my cold then discovered that it isn't advised in pregnancy. Everything is such a mind field!

butterybollocks · 14/08/2017 18:50

Sock it could be a breech thing, if they get their head up under your ribs it does push them out. Also DD who was breech used to grab my ribs in her fist in the third trimester - it bloody hurt!

Zampa · 14/08/2017 19:39

Sock Do try bra extenders as someone here recommended to me. I can send you a couple if you like? Will save the expense of Bravissimo!

Also finishing on 20/10 at 35 weeks. My boss wanted me to work another couple of weeks but considering how tired I am after a day at work now, I dread to think how bad it will get towards the end.

A bit worried about my weight gain. Have only put on half a stone and "the internet" reckons that should be more like a stone by now. I know we're all different but it's a hook on which to hang my anxieties!

theotherendofthesockportal · 14/08/2017 19:48

@butterybollocks I just winced reading that! I hope that my little lady keeps her hands to herself!

Oh yes please @Zampa that is a very kind offer 😊 I will pm my address to you.

I am leaving work at 33 weeks, I can't bear the thought of sitting in the traffic being enormous! I have no idea how much weight I've put on but I feel like a walrus already so staying away from the scales.

theotherendofthesockportal · 14/08/2017 19:50

@Zampa I will pm you tomorrow when I'm at work. I can't work out how to do it on the app and my laptop is broken 🙀

Zampa · 14/08/2017 21:35

Sock I've PM'd you so hopefully you can just reply.

Let me know preferred colours and whether you need 2 or 3 hooks.

Happy to send some out to others if needed. The pack size from Amazon was very generous!

izzibee29 · 14/08/2017 21:36

Omg so I might be being over optimistic- I won't be starting my mat leave until I hit the end of week 36!

@Zampa, don't fret about weight gain, I've not gained anything but wasn't a skinny minnie before and so that's fine. Keep in mind we've got plenty of time before we get to the end to put on weight. I say, as long as I can keep getting away with eating two breakfasts a day and not putting on any weight, I'll take it. If I ate like this and wasn't prego I totally would be a stone heavier before I even blinked my eyes.

lydiangel83 · 14/08/2017 21:55

@theotherendofthesockportal I've had quite a bit of tumeric milk too, didn't realise you weren't meant to!

Belly been really uncomfortable today not sure why but will pay more attention to specific pain location tomorrow and see if it may be due to baby moving around. Happy that we have a scan tomorrow so hoping that will show all is ok x

Hazandduck · 14/08/2017 22:27

My due date is the 13th @ginger so we are very close! Ooh exciting to hear a few of us 'break up' at the same time haha. Mumsnet maternity party! I am cheating a bit as have wedding and honeymoon holiday in between so in reality have about 7 weeks left actually in work I think. Can't come soon enough :D x

GingerHanna · 15/08/2017 05:46

So good that some of us finish on the same day! I will take a few days off for my wedding next month, but my boss is off for three weeks so cannot take more as I'm covering.

izzibee I'll be 36 weeks also sonI wouldn't fret. :)

@izzibee29 I'll also be 36 wks when I finish :)

Topsyloulou · 15/08/2017 07:30

@izzibee29 I'll be almost 38 weeks when I finish work!

SarahS17 · 15/08/2017 08:12

I run an manage an office, been there 10yrs and I'm the first to ever go on maternity leave and after months of searching and finding someone they suddenly changed their mind yesterday and are not taking the job :-( don't know what I'm going to do, at this rate il be giving birth in the office! I'm due 8th and was hoping to finish around the 13-20th which I thought was optimistic and now god knows that I'm going to do.

@Zampa I was concerned about weight put on as I'm 28 weeks and only put on 10lbs but I had a scan yesterday and he's right on the 50th spot for weight.
They said the baby will be getting all its nutrients but just maybe at a deficit to us!!
I have a severe hiatus hernia that I've had since a child and it's getting worse by the day, struggling to keep anything down after about 4pm so I'm having about 10 breakfasts a day all washed down with buckets of gaviscon!

Struggling to figure out what is a hiccup and what is a kick and to find any pattern in his movements. From the scan I know he is head down which at least helps with where his legs are but is anyone else having this problem?

butterybollocks · 15/08/2017 09:01

@sarahs17 it's difficult but you have to go on mat leave at the right time for you, and essentially your employer just has to deal with it.

My job has been advertised for maternity cover today - feels very strange. I love my job and don't really want someone else doing it for a year!

lydiangel83 · 15/08/2017 10:16

@SarahS17 I have no idea of what movements are and feel like I should pay more attention but I don't know how others know what it feels like!

Had our scan and all is fine :) baby on small side but in proportion. Saw him/ her in 4D which was a bit freaky but also cool, definitely has my nose the poor thing lol!

Motherhippy16 · 16/08/2017 08:00

Hi all sorry I've Been a bit quiet. Hope everyone is Ok? X

Motherhippy16 · 16/08/2017 08:04

Trying to read through all the posts so sorry if I have missed anything. I'm also going on mat leave at 35 weeks and tbh I can't wait! It's been quite a stressful time here but it has all quietened down now. St and I had a really good talk and have sorted some things out. I don't have a birth plan yet but am going to start daisy birthing classes which I have had great recommendations for. Am unable to go to any nct ones due to the nature of my job.

Had 25 week app yesterday and everything is great. Also had whooping cough vaccination and my arm is killing!

Much love to all
X

Zampa · 17/08/2017 09:52

Just had a scan at 26 weeks and all reassuringly normal. Baby currently weighs 850g so heading towards being about 7.5lbs when born at 39 weeks. Will be interesting to see if she tracks the growth charts.

redfragglebiker · 17/08/2017 13:31

Longtime lurker checking in here. 26 weeks today with anterior placenta so getting used to feeling proper movement. Bump got measured yesterday and she kicked the midwife! Grin
In other news the Aldi baby event starts instore today

redfragglebiker · 17/08/2017 13:33

@motherhippy16 - My arm feels rally dead after the whooping cough vaccine too :/

lydiangel83 · 17/08/2017 13:42

That's good @Zampa we had scan this week and was 1.2kg at 29 wks so looking at similar birth weight. Slightly on the small side at the moment but still in range of normal so fingers crossed it stays that way x

Zampa · 17/08/2017 17:11

@lydiangel83 Our baby is also under the 50th percentile but within the normal range. Having a ELCS so I don't suppose it matters really, as long as she's healthy!

Would I be unreasonable to keep my section date to myself? I feel like I want a bit of time with my little family before family visit. I'm hampering myself in relation to childcare but as DD will be in nursery, I think we might be able to get away with it.

lydiangel83 · 17/08/2017 17:30

@Zampa I don't think so I think u have to do what's right for you. Could always accidentally get the date wrong or maybe it got pulled forward ;-) I don't know how it's going to wrk as my parents are 2.5 hrs away but we definitely want some time as a threesome before family descend.

We are on 19th percentile which seems so small given DH and I are both tall...

lydiangel83 · 17/08/2017 17:31
  • I meant strange rather than 'so small'!
