Thinking of you Jam, hope you're OK.

Sock - if it helps to reassure you, my DD was breech and a planned section. She was absolutely fine - she did have her hips scanned at a few weeks old but no problems. Yours has plenty of time to turn tho :) I think there are exercises you can do to encourage them to turn - I didn't bother because I knew mine was not for turning!

lydiangel83 · 07/08/2017 07:14

Sorry to hear that @Jamandbumpsmum it sounds horrible :( fingers crossed all ok xx

izzibee29 · 07/08/2017 19:23

Horrid feeling of awful guilt has hit me today. I have been coping and managing with very sore painful back pain for the last week or so. Last week I saw my midwife and having tested my wee she arranged for a sample to be sent off for further testing.

That was on Tuesday.

Today I found out that I have a UTI and am now on a course of antibiotics. Literally have had a massive sob over this as I feel so guilty for baby who must be feeling shite and I feel annoyed at myself that I didn't pay more attention to how bad I was feeling.

I know the antibiotics will shift it but just feel so guilty. :(

lydiangel83 · 07/08/2017 19:50

Don't feel guilty @izzibee29 it's not like you did it on purpose!! I took antibiotics early on for same reason and that also took me a couple of days to get to doctors. You're doing your best x

GingerHanna · 07/08/2017 20:56

How are you doing today Jam?

Hi, hopefully things are improving a bit. Little dude keeps having a wriggle now and again. My pain and the tight muscles in my stomach are easing up slightly which is allowing him a bit more space to move again. He's still not kicking the he'll out me like he had been prior to the accident but hopefully he is recovering ok. Glucose test this morning so hopefully after the fasting and when I get hungry he will start kicking up a bit of a fuss.

Zampa · 08/08/2017 15:44

Get well soon @izzibee29. I've got through 2 courses of antibiotics and still not recovered from my chest infection. Currently in France, holidaying but thinking of asking for a course of steroids on my return.

Feeling marginally better by looking at this view whilst OH and the DSC risk life and limb on the Via Ferrata.

Hope that your trip to France was successful Buttery.

Lovely view @Zampa

I hope you feel better soon @izzibee29 and @Jamandbumpsmum

We found a house! And more importantly got an accepted offer. The inspection is tonight so will know more after regarding whether we'll move forward and a time line. Going to take lots of pics tonight so I have a plan ready once we close and get the keys. We'll need to paint and rip up ugly carpet before we move in.

With the house hunting pressure gone I thought I'd make a start in baby stuff. Rang John Lewis to see if they could ship me a cotbed (I got DS's from them 11 years ago) and was met with nothing but brick walls. The fellow I spoke to was terrible. Couldn't give me any information about the box sizes or anything - I was going to ship it to my aunts then have it shipped over if John Lewis couldn't help. Thinking I might call the store on Oxford St to see if I have better luck. I wouldn't mind being told no but I already know they can because they've done it in the past.

Amd724 · 08/08/2017 22:52

Evening ladies, I haven't be on in ages. I was diagnosed with gestation diabetes on Thursday and I've been trying to get my head wrapped around it. I'm on annual leave for two weeks and then I start maternity leave. I'm getting anxious about the birth, I've been told I'll be induced. The aboslute latest they'll let me go is 39 weeks because they're worried baby could be big. But at her last scan, she was a smaller baby. I'm getting so anxious about an induction or a c section because of GD. I've heard so many horror stories now. I've been coping fine with testing each day, and regulating my bloods. In fact, I haven't had to change much of my diet, just cut out the random cake or sugary drink I'd have. No more sugar in my decaf either. I hope thats enough!

Zampa · 09/08/2017 07:40

@stuckinny John Lewis customer service isn't what it was. Prices aren't great either when compared to wider market. I still visit but generally only buy in the sales now.

@AMD724 Sorry to hear that your anxious. C sections are nothing to worry about but hope you get the birth that you want.

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 07:43

12 wks until due date today for me! OH can't come to midwife today which I'm a bit gutted about as wanted to talk about pain relief. Sleeping really badly which does not help my mood!

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 07:44

Any other 1st November due dates or am
I due to be first?! My date got re-estimated from 25/11 after 12 wk scan!

izzibee29 · 09/08/2017 09:45

Wow @lydiangel83 - that must have been a surprise such a change in edd! Exciting times I think you might be the first up!

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 10:32

It was a huge surprise lol! Had 28 wk midwife appt today and after some drama including having to go back home to collect forgotten notes all is fine. Had rhesus negative injection and first time belly measured and all fine :) heartbeat also fine. Baby was somersaulting about all night and I'm mega sleep deprived and mega grumpy. Just having a hot chocolate before getting back to work!

Hazandduck · 09/08/2017 12:16

God @Lydia that's so exciting!! 12 weeks to go! On Monday I'll have 13 weeks to go. Do you feel like pregnancy is just snowballing and before we know it we'll be actual mums with actual babies! Ah!

@Zampa where are you in France? I just keep staring at that picture, it's stunning.
X

theotherendofthesockportal · 09/08/2017 12:39

@lydiangel83 can I ask you about the rhesus negative injection? I have mine booked in and know very little about it. Where do they inject you? I'm going to the appointment alone, will I be able to drive afterwards?

I'm feeling rubbish today, I'm coming down with a cold and have a stuffy nose and sore throat. I feel very sorry for myself, especially as I noticed my husband is displaying the same symptoms as me, but of course I'm not on par with his man flu 😷

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 15:27

@Hazandduck I know so many exciting / terrifying! I am yet to read any books, have no idea about birth options or pain relief, and so really need baby to not come early so that I can do all my reading/ research in the few wks I have off after finishing work! I'm so over work and can't wait to finish!

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 15:28

@theotherendofthesockportal I was worried about it and also had to drive myself but absolutely fine :)

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 15:28

@theotherendofthesockportal it was in my upper arm x

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 16:08

And just had whooping cough this afternoon which hurt more and apparently more likely to have side effects :-/

lydiangel83 · 09/08/2017 16:12

Nurse said one side effect was irritability - already got that one covered lol

meltingmarshmallows · 09/08/2017 16:13

Joining in, I'm due in late November 👋🏻

butterybollocks · 09/08/2017 17:03

I've booked in for whopping cough jab in 2 weeks time. Apparently they hope my cough and cold will have gone by then which I'm a bit sceptical about because I've had it for 2 months!

I had an actual clean bill of health from the midwife yesterday - no protein in my wee and no high blood pressure! We recorded the heartbeat on our phones so we could play it to DD who thought it was amazing!

Time is going so fast. I'm torn between not wanting to finish work at all because I love my job, and wanting to finish now so I can tidy the house and lie on the sofa!

stuckinny · 09/08/2017 17:05

@Zampa, even though they probably not the cheapest they are still cheaper than anything I've found here. I'm also looking for something low to the ground (I'm only 5'2") and converts into a bed. All the ones I've seen here that convert only change into a day bed leaving one long side running down the back which I don't like the look of.
I did have some success with them though. After having another rummage around the website I found you could contact the Oxford St shop. I emailed them yesterday and they've already been in contact. Just waiting for shipping costs now.

The house is on hold . The inspector found termites last night so now we are waiting to get the bug people in to see how bad it is. Damn these American wooden houses!

@Amd724, I second that a c-section isn't too bad. I had an emergency one with DS and was up and about in no time.

I'm meeting with a new practice tomorrow. Once I make up my mind whether I'm staying or moving I'll book in for glucose test and whooping cough shot.
They gave me the rhesus negative shot in the hospital the last time. I was given paperwork about it at my last appointment but haven't even looked at it yet. Confused

Zampa · 09/08/2017 21:56

@Hazandduck We're in the Dordogne, camping. It's been a great trip (apart from my ongoing chest infection and DD vomiting all day today!). Sadly coming home tomorrow ...Sad

25 weeks tomorrow and due another scan at 26 weeks ... Hoping everything is ok and baby hasn't suffered from my illness too much.
