Welcome @MonkeyPoozzled76 and welcome to the "elderly" club...yes that is what's written on my notes!

lydiangel83 · 26/07/2017 16:55

@MonkeyPoozzled76 welcome and pleased all going well for you. Your pregnancy yoga sounds far friendlier than mine, which is a bit cliquey! Have you updated spreadsheet at the start of this thread? May be some other people who live near you?!

Hazandduck · 26/07/2017 19:41

I've enquired about pregnancy yoga but not braved it yet! Welcome @monkey I think I remember you from the Staying Positive board? Sorry if I'm wrong. It is so hard being pregnant again after going through miscarriage, but there's lots of support here! I find just ticking off the milestones helps so much.

24+2wks today, saw the midwife yesterday and they measured bump as 24cm, I feel way bigger! My belly feels like it's stuck on me haha. Weighed myself tonight and I've gained almost a stone already! 😳 Hey ho! I just need to not balloon too much in the next 4-5 weeks as I picked up my wedding dress at the weekend :)

I had the worst leg cramp ever this morning at about 5am, woke up screaming and OH was so worried and then just holding my leg up in all sorts of positions for me to try and get rid of it lol. Have had sciatica all day now. It's a literal pain in the butt when I'm just strolling along minding my own business and my whole legs seizes up!

Hope everyone is well :) the weeks are going so fast xx

Hi @MonkeyPoozled76!

I have my scan tomorrow and cant see the notes on what to prepare. Do I need a full bladder for a 20 week scan? I'm feeling so disorganised Blush

theotherendofthesockportal · 26/07/2017 21:46

@JCleRoux I went to the 20 week scan with a full bladder. I had to go and empty it half way through the scan as the baby (as per usual) was in awkward position and they needed her to move.

Baby's kicks are getting stronger, and I love it. I read that they are most active between 24-28 weeks and as I'm 24 weeks tomorrow I am very excited.

JCleRoux · 27/07/2017 04:12

Thanks @theotherendofthesockportal 👍

I'm awake again this very early morning. I was hoping to sleek through tonight. Oh well...

theotherendofthesockportal · 27/07/2017 09:00

@JCleRoux enjoy your scan today :)

lydiangel83 · 27/07/2017 10:15

@Hazandduck I didn't get measured at my 24/25 week scan - is it usual to be? Not very impressed by care I've had so far to be honest :-/

GingerHanna · 27/07/2017 13:41

Had my check up today to see how the myoma is doing... bit of an anticlimax really as they did a poke and prod (no scan), said yep, seems okay. I've not had any pain for the last week so all seems good and back at 28 weeks for a growth scan as they cannot use fundal height measurements as myoma throws that off completely!

The doctor did say that when they deliberately kill a myoma they insert two tubes into it via your arteries and inject gel into it. Then they give the woman an epidural for four or five days to manage the pain, so it was no wonder I was in a bad place when it happened to me!

Glucose test tomorrow... joy.

@JCleRoux enjoy your scan

I have appointment and scan today too. Just regular check up and the scan is to see if the placenta has moved. Fingers crossed it has.
It might also be my last appointment with my current doc. I've found a new practice that I may switch to - it's a little further away but more midwife driven. I'm meeting with them in two weeks.

Hazandduck · 27/07/2017 16:57

Hmm @lydia I don't know, they've given me a growth chart so I thought it was normal from now on to be measured at every appointment with the midwife. Is your care midwife or consultancy led? Maybe that makes a difference? Think they are supposed to note it in your yellow notes now at every appointment! Xx

Hazandduck · 27/07/2017 16:57

@Ginger glad the appointment went well and they aren't worried. X

lydiangel83 · 27/07/2017 17:38

@Hazandduck I'm midwife led but had a trainee last time. Took her forever to find the heartbeat!!

JCleRoux · 27/07/2017 18:31

Thanks @stuckinny and @theotherendofthesockportal. The scan went well and it looks like baby is doing well and happy. We still don't know if we're having a boy or girl Smile

How was your scan @stuckinny? Has the placenta moved?

@GingerHanna glad your appointment went well albeit not a lot of excitement Grin

Does anyone else's tummy also feel very tight? I'm getting that a lot lately. I'm not feeling any movement yet, just twitches and I can never be sure if that's the baby or my lunch.

I left it too late but finally telling my boss next week. I think she may have guessed though as I have a small bump already.

GingerHanna · 27/07/2017 21:11

Oh my fricking word we just dropped a small fortune in PreNatal today (Dutch equivalent of Mothercare).

Have put down deposit in Joolz Geo, bought a maxi-cosi pebble and Stoke front and back carry sling, plus a few extras for the Joolz and a Boppy pillow. Nearly cried handing over my card and still have the rest of the Joolz to pay for!

I did get a couple of gift boxes and a free Joolz winter sleep sack (€120 retail) which is something for. One of the gift boxes has alcohol free beer in!

Good morning everyone one. Did my first pregnancy yoga last night and it was gorgeous! Really really chilled out @lydiangel83 but did some moves in it that I could really feel working. Will carry on with it but think I'll go back to the gym to do some more intensive things as well. Sorry yours is clicky.... not very helpful!

Welcome @monkeypoozled76 ! Lovely to hear from you. I am 22+2 today.... little man has def got into a routine of kicks and bubbles now which is very reassuring.
@gingerganna I totally understand about the money side... brought a travel system and mum2me pillow on Sunday as well as other little things but. Probably a good thing I can't spend money on wine and baby things at the same time!
We did find an amazing cot and changing table on eBay for £45 And they are perfect so highly recommend it for decent bargains. Mich love to all x

Motherhippy16 · 28/07/2017 07:45

Sorry @gingerhanna... half asleep typing this! X

lydiangel83 · 28/07/2017 08:54

I'm sending my dad to look at a silvercross pram in their local town for me today - looks in good condition so that could save us about £400! Otherwise yes v expensive!

Glad you're enjoying pregnancy yoga @Motherhippy16 I think I'm just at a bit of a lame class but not much choice around me. What other gym work would you do?

Motherhippy16 · 28/07/2017 09:11

@lydiangel83 I was going to go swimming and do gentle cross trainer and upper body work. Will speak to a personal trainer next week. Going to yoga last night has made me realise that I need to focus on my body more x sorry your in a lame class. Are there others around You? X

lydiangel83 · 28/07/2017 09:54

Not really :-/ I've got a friend who is personal trainer may ask her for a session. Hoping to go swimming later have been trying to go once a week.

Motherhippy16 · 28/07/2017 11:04

@lydiangel83 I've been awful at exercising. So tired at the end of the day just getting through work! Making more of an effort to walk and generally stretch support myself.
My friend had her little baby girl last night.... so so gorgeous x x x just want my little one now! X

GingerHanna · 28/07/2017 21:01

Exercise? What's that? I have a gym in my basement garage that hasn't been touched since I got pregnant. I did recently change office so now cycle to work most days which is a good 15-20 minutes each way, so that's something. Would be good to do some strength training again but I am so knackered most of the time it just doesn't happen.

Got a new book today - Work. Pump. Repeat. Guess you could say I'm getting ahead of myself but I need to feel like I'm doing something and regaining some semblance of control.

Pic is the blurb on the back cover. Bloody great.

I've been the same, all I do is walk! Feel so lazy and can't wait to get back in to running next year, but I just don't want to at the moment. I have bought the "what to expect" antenatal exercise DVD in good faith but it is just gathering dust.

When are people buying things like the cot etc? We were thinking end of September to try and get our cat used to it being in the room, as he takes avid interest in anything unfamiliar, but I don't know when you are "supposed" to buy these things. X

Teachervoice · 29/07/2017 11:25

We've just been buying things as and when a good offer comes up. Ordered our nursery furniture a couple of weeks ago because it was all on sale.

In the process of buying a new house too though so everything we buy for baby is currently cluttering existing house in its boxes! Can't wait to move house at over 30 weeks pregnant Confused

theotherendofthesockportal · 29/07/2017 11:44

I need to do some exercising, I'm not convinced the bump is all baby, I think it may be part malteaser. I've got a maternity swimming costume and a £12.50 month membership for swimming at the local pool.

I'm hoping to buy the cot in September. We need to massively decluttering the house, we moved in last November and are still living in the land of boxes. The house has needed a lot of work doing. I dream of having a nice functional house one day.

What's everyone up to this weekend?
