Oh @gingerhanna you poor thing, sounds awful. Hope the pain is under control and you're home soon.

Welcome nerdy!

I really haven't started buying anything for the baby yet, although I have sorted out getting the travel system back from a friend who has borrowed it and we have various basics in the loft from last time. Feels like we have loads to do though, our spare room needs a new window, plastering and carpeting and then DD is moving in there, then we can start on the nursery which is currently her room. Nothing can happen until the windows are done and there's no date for that yet which is starting to make me nervous Confused

Zampa · 11/07/2017 13:23

Aargh ... Why on Earth am I going to a gig tonight? I was asleep at 2130 last night and I bet that the band won't even be in stage by then! Just hope that there are some seats available.

Disappointed at the lack of shopping opportunities for a second baby ... Can't really justify buying anything when we have it all already.

izzibee29 · 11/07/2017 13:39

@Zampa oooo who are you going to see. You'll manage to stay up once the music gets going

Zampa · 11/07/2017 13:52

Ride @izzibee29. I think most of you will be too young to remember them ... #longinthetooth

I'm in Italy going to a Filipino choir concert that doesn't start until 9pm tonight! So random! Here with my folks and working remotely. DH left on Sunday and I'm here until next wkend :) we were at a meal with cousins last night, huge amounts of food and didn't finish eating until 11pm, then was up early for work today. Tired and feeling fat and annoyed by work! Counting the days until I finish!

stuckinny · 11/07/2017 15:05

Oh my goodness @GingerHanna I'm glad you're okay and the staff have been great. I'll be sending you positive going home vibes. Flowers

lydiangel83 · 11/07/2017 15:09

Hope you get home soon @GingerHanna BrewCakeFlowers

Zampa · 11/07/2017 16:42

Our babysitter just cancelled ... Gutted ... Sad

Aliceinchunderland · 11/07/2017 17:01

@gingerhanna Hope you get well soon. I'm a SCBU nurse and 35 weekers tend to do really well. Most only stay in a week or so, if they stay in at all x

GingerHanna · 11/07/2017 19:14

Thank you for all the well wishes. Hoping to be discharged tomorrow morning but had to have another shot today so will see what they say. They may not be happy with pain management yet, we'll see.

Had the 20w scan redone today and all is well. Edge of placenta is only 1cm from cervix so they want me back for another scan at 32 weeks. Also due back in for more scans in two weeks to check the myoma.

The gynie I saw today wants me to deliver in hospital and move from midwife to gynie care. I really don't want this but didn't say anything at the time because, well, I was still taking it all in. Spoke to the midwife and she'll come and see me at home tomorrow if I'm discharged and discuss. I have the feeling this isn't the first time it has happened. We will see.

For now Limpet and I are well and I got to see him again. I'm fascinated by his feet for some reason and loved seeing them kicking around!

Hi all. Am finally feeling some flutterings! Especially when I curl up at night... the strangest feelings! Although there is still part of me that are doubting that they are kicks or movements. They range from belly button to low abdomen.... is that right? Hope everyone is ok.... x

GingerHanna · 11/07/2017 19:34

Sounds about right MotherHippy. Really happy for you!

I only get little light flutter kicks on occasion and they are very low and/or to the sides. I still question them each time as think I am imagining them - been over a week now!

Hi please can I join the group, I'm 23 weeks pregnant today and due on the 8th November :-)

SarahS17 · 12/07/2017 08:12

Sorry I should of added some of my details! This is my first, found out we are having a boy. Had lots of flutters aroun 20-22 weeks and in the past week to 10 days they have really slowed down, keep telling myself not to worry but I feel like they should be getting stronger and more often, is anyone else having this? Have my 23 week appointment today but as it's with the doctor I didn't know if they listen for bumps heartbeat? Also getting the whooping cough injection which they questioned due to my asthma but I think it's for the best, any advice would be much appreciated! First time mum and insomniac here!! X

lydiangel83 · 12/07/2017 08:42

Welcome @SarahS17 :) my mum (a triplet) is born on 8th November so is hoping that my baby (due 1st Nov) will be delayed a week to match her bday!

Not sure re whooping cough but keen to hear responses as also advised to get it

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 12/07/2017 09:13

Got my 20 week scan today and really excited. Planning to find out sex but keep it to ourselves (assuming little one cooperates).

Definitely feeling flutterings, feels like being gently tickled from the inside (and always makes me smile when I feel it).

NerdyViking · 12/07/2017 09:51

Hi @SarahS17, first time for me tooSmile just had my whooping cough vaccine last week; my understanding is that it covers baby for the first two months before they can have their own and as it can be quite serious if they get it, it seems worth it

I think I've been feeling movement, but not 100% sure, kind of popping and rolling/stretching feeling, but some days are more active than others. There was one day the other week that was really active, which was what convinced me it must be baby, but it hasn't been a steady increase for me, if that helps x

lydiangel83 · 12/07/2017 10:00

I've been asked by friends about baby shower, wasn't sure I wanted one but like the idea of getting my friends together pre-baby (and DM and Dmil too). Now DM is sulking that she isn't organising as convinced that she had previously heard me say I didn't want one (not sure about that).

Is anyone else having one that they are aware of? Seems far away but over summer one will go quickly and in to September before I know it!

Topsyloulou · 12/07/2017 14:09

@lydiangel83 I didn't have baby shower with DS. Didn't fancy being the centre of attention when I wasn't looking or feeling my best & having people staring at me as I opened presents. Instead I had two days out in London with friends. One was a day out we had planned, we went for afternoon tea & they then drank lots of cocktails after. The other one was arranged especially for me, it was a v nice afternoon tea, they gave me a token gift and we just had a lovely afternoon together. It was lovely to catch up with friends before becoming a mum. If you don't fancy a baby shower how about something like that. I'll be trying to get another afternoon tea in this time round.

GingerHanna · 12/07/2017 15:36

Home sweet home! Glad to finally be out of hospital. Cats are attached to me.

Midwife has already been over - had an 'interesting' discussion with one of the gynies on way forward to good to talk it through. Will update properly later when I have some spoons. Smile

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/07/2017 16:07

I'm not having a baby shower, it is my actual definition of hell on Earth - being the centre of attention! I've told my sister to spread the word that it won't be happening incase anyone has misguided intentions of "doing it as a nice surprise."

@GingerHanna glad to hear you are back at home

Zampa · 12/07/2017 19:24

Glad to hear that you've been discharged Ginger. Hope baby hangs on in there for as long as possible.

I'm anti-baby shower (for myself, not judging those who have them). I'd rather baby was here safely before the presents arrive.

One of the hardest things about DD's arrival was going back home without her and seeing her cot and changing table waiting for her. Sobbed and wanted to get rid of it all but fortunately didn't as she was home 6 weeks later!

butterybollocks · 13/07/2017 09:07

Great to hear you're home gingerhanna!

I am getting a serious kicking from this baby now! DH thinks we've got a footballer in there. Baby was kicking away until gone 11pm last night, husband is ill and was coughing all night so I'm completely exhausted today!

I'm supposed to be in London today but have had to cancel because I've got yet another virus and am coughing... I feel ok but I'm not allowed in the office with a cough. Bit disappointed as I was quite looking forward to doing something normal and feeling properly useful at work.

stuckinny · 13/07/2017 16:11

@GingerHanna glad you're home.

I'm not keen on baby showers either but DP's DS and DSIL want to throw us one. I have no family here and absolutely love DP's family so it'll be more of a get together I hope than anything else. I'm also hoping (but will be checking) that it DP and the 'men' are invited.
On the upside, they're planning on holding it at my favourite wine bar which just so happens to have my favourite wine. I'll be making sure I have a glass Smile

JCleRoux · 13/07/2017 18:41

@GingerHanna glad you're on the mend and back home.

I also don't want a baby shower for myself. Happy to be invited to one and attend but personally I would rather celebrate a baby that's already here.

Is anyone doing any kind of exercising? I used to run before pregnancy and always wanted to go back. It was impossible to do it in the first trimester with all the vomiting, constipation and constant exhaustion but now I have some energy and feel like being active again. Plus I'm eating a ridiculous amount of chocolate these days Grin
