I haven't had it yet, I am debating whether to. The reasons not for me are that I am currently on crutches and three weeks post major trauma surgery so my body will not be at its most immune. Plus I am on crutches so can't really have a sore arm at the moment.

butterybollocks · 28/06/2017 19:18

I think you can have it at any point from now onwards DuRez. I certainly won't be having it any time soon as not well at the moment, I think you're right that your immune system is likely to be weaker at the moment.

Great to hear your scan went well Haz Smile

I'm not sure if I'm having the whooping cough vaccine. I had it when I was a very young child and had a reaction to the first jab and my parents were advised not to give me the booster a few weeks later.

My midwife so far has said she doesn't think I should the vaccine incase I have another reaction.

izzibee29 · 28/06/2017 20:04

Hi ladies, haven't checked in for a while. Interesting to hear about how the whooping cough has affected everyone. Mines booked for the 12th so shall have to see. Had a horrid cold and cough this past week so at least bubs has been getting some lovely antibodies for colds to toughen him/her up for the outside world.

Who's feeling amazed tat we're half way there already!

Amd724 · 28/06/2017 20:17

I hope you don't mind if I sneak in here. My EDD is a bit earlier than most here, 6 November. So I'm about 21 +3. I couldn't find a thread for those with earlier EDDs. Its my first baby, I'm an American living in the UK with my British husband. I have very little support on this side of the pond, other than my husband, so I'd love to come on here, if y'all don't mind? We know its a girl, we've already named her Anastasia.

izzibee29 · 28/06/2017 20:24

@Amd724 welcome- no need to say you're sneaking in- we all are due Nov or even we have an early Dec due date.

Sorry to hear you haven't much support here, that's what we're here for though, we're very open and honest.

X

Amd724 · 28/06/2017 21:21

Thanks. I've already had my 20 week scan, last week. Everything was clear. We're about to start ordering stuff in and are putting together the nursery. I've put in my maternity leave request, and will be done with work in the middle of August (mostly due to how my contract is written) so I can have six months fully paid. If I wait until before she comes, I'd have 3 months paid. Its a long story, but it works out best (more time at home with her).

Zampa · 28/06/2017 21:26

I have a new niece! Born today! She has 2 big brothers so we've bought her parents girls clothes as they have everything else.

Whilst browsing online, I found the perfect "coming home" babygrow for our baby come November. It has a matching hat and vest too! Perfect for a little Manc!

I won't tempt fate and buy it now but might after my 20 week scan next week!

Topsyloulou · 28/06/2017 22:03

Congratulations Zampa, lovely news.

That babygro is so cute. I think you definitely need to order it after your scan. DS picked out some babygros after our private scan the other week so baby will wear one for her first outfit & then another one for her coming home outfit.

DS is getting more interested in the baby everyday. Today he asked me how big she will grow & how will she manage to fit through my stomach up my throat to come out of my mouth! That wasn't the conversation I was planning on having at 6.30am! Fortunately I could show him my csection scar & explain how he came out so not as awkward as it could have been!

Hazandduck · 29/06/2017 08:14

Aw @Zampa that baby grow! I said to OH last night "I'm going to spend a fortune on baby clothes!" There are just way too many cute outfits out there. We have bought a rainbow patterned grow with matching hat and a little duck patterned one in white and yellow as everyone calls OH Ducky so it's only fitting!
I had the WORST dream last night/this morn, have only just stopped crying so I can cake on make-up for work! I lost the baby and the only person I told was my Gran who passed away years ago and she gave me a big cuddle and it felt so real :( I've not dreamt about her for years, I keep dreaming about people who have passed on really vividly, it's so weird. I don't get why I'm still dreaming of miscarriage when yesterday I had a lovely scan!

lydiangel83 · 29/06/2017 09:17

Aww @Hazandduck I woke up crying a few weeks ago as I dreamt my mum was trying to kill me :( my mum was really upset when I told her! Where did you get rainbow baby gro from? Ducks and rainbows are two of my favourite things!

butterybollocks · 29/06/2017 09:38

Oh haz that sounds like a horrible dream!

@Topsyloulou how old is your ds? I've had to answer sooo many questions from my 5 y o little girl. The latest one was "you know when daddy put the seed in your vagina... Did you have to take your pants off?" Shock

She also asked if we got the seed, covered it in glitter and then put it in my tummy...would we get a glittery baby? Grin

I'm holding off buying anything but have been through the loft and given all of the girl clothes away! Also doing some online browsing which is cheering me up while I'm stuck at home ill.

izzibee29 · 29/06/2017 11:46

Aww ladies - those dreams sound horrid, so sorry. The only one I've had involved gorillas using parcel tape on a tiger (no idea why...) but I don't dream very often.

Off to see Adele later, sooo excited but having to pack tissues as lots of music has really been making me really teary eyed lately lol.

AGnu · 29/06/2017 14:10

buttery my 5yo wanted to know what it felt like, when we did it & why we waited until they were asleep. He suggested it was because we wanted to keep the baby a surprise... I just agreed!

Hazandduck · 29/06/2017 14:53

Oh @Lydia that sounds really scary! It takes a while to realise it's not real doesn't it?! The baby grows were both from Jojo Maman Bebe and had matching hats! I got them online and when they arrived I caught OH cradling them!

Haha @izzi love the animal dreams, they sound way more fun. Good luck with Adele, even just watching videos of her sing live has me in floods of tears!

@Buttery, your daughter sounds hilarious! X

Zampa · 29/06/2017 15:50

Frugi do ace rainbow outfits too! 🌈

lydiangel83 · 29/06/2017 17:22

Aww thanks guys! Excited about baby gro's may buy some tonight! Haven't bought any clothes yet and am at 22+1 now so hopefully ok to do so! x

DeadDoorpost · 29/06/2017 23:39

Hello, may I join? I'm due November 19th and my 20 week scan is on the 6th July. This is my first baby.
Been on mumsnet for a good few weeks but have only just found threads outside of the Hyperemesis one I'm currently on. Kinda tells you everything you need to know about me.

Hazandduck · 30/06/2017 08:24

Hi @deaddoorpost and welcome :) Oh man that sounds rough. How are you feeling now? I'm due the 13th of November so we aren't far apart. X

Hazandduck · 30/06/2017 08:26

@Zampa I've never heard of Frugi before and have just had a look. I can now see how I'm going to be spending my Friday :D It all looks lovely and quite quirky!

butterybollocks · 30/06/2017 10:28

Welcome @deaddoorpost! Hope you're doing OK.

I think I might be finally emerging from the fog of being ill as it's just occurred to me that I'm going to have a baby! An actual baby! ShockShockGrin

DeadDoorpost · 30/06/2017 11:00

hazandduck im still suffering from sickness but I'm on tablets to keep it under check

Zampa · 30/06/2017 13:22

@hazandduck OMG - I love Frugi and it lasts and lasts. Definitely navigate towards the sale section though. It's spendy!

I also love the following brands and I think that they're worth checking out ...

www.milktwobunnies.bigcartel.com
www.hucklebones.co.uk/shop/
www.bladeandrose.co.uk

I'll post about baby skincare later ...!

theotherendofthesockportal · 30/06/2017 20:47

Happy to report you you all that baby sock portal looked good at the scan today and she still is a girl.

I'm now dragging my husband to late night shopping at Asda to purchase lovely baby stuff

izzibee29 · 30/06/2017 21:49

@theotherendofthesockportal lovely piccie. Enjoy shopping for some lovely girlie bits :). Ooo it's going to be hard to make sure I don't cave and find out if we are having a boy or a girl.
