I had an email a few weeks before. But I'm part of a neighbourhood midwives scheme, everything is done through them and one admin person, so it's all quite organised.

Teachervoice · 22/06/2017 20:40

I didn't get a letter either. They just wrote down my appointment time when I booked it after my 12 week scan.

Hazandduck · 22/06/2017 20:47

They printed my letter out after my 12 week scan at the hospital, I just put it straight in my little folder.
Congratulations on your scan and having a little boy @teacher! I'm so new at this, to me I could not tell if you were having a boy or girl from that picture! How can you tell? I must remember not to look on our scan next week so I don't accidentally realise what we are having!

lydiangel83 · 22/06/2017 21:07

Great picture @Teachervoice and @butterybollocks I haven't had a risk assessment so interested that they told you not to travel to London! I may try to work from home a bit more!

Teachervoice · 22/06/2017 21:11

@Hazandduck if you look at the knee, which is bent in the top left corner and then follow that straight down, vertically, you will see his penis! Haha.

Don't worry though, the sonographer wouldn't include that unless you specifically said you wanted to know. She asked us before she printed the photos out so we already knew.

Zampa · 22/06/2017 21:37

Home alone this evening. I put DD to bed then ate a whole round of baked Camembert.

Nom nom nom.

Hazandduck · 22/06/2017 22:30

Oh wow yes I can see his peepee! It's obvious now you've said :)

lydiangel83 · 22/06/2017 22:32

Thank goodness it's bed time I've been in a mega grump all day especially with DH's family who are quite demanding and smug sometimes. They do my head in! Also probably me over reacting and being emotional. Luckily had a nice dinner out that calmed me down before I retaliated and now off to bed with an episode of OITNB and a hot chocolate :)

tootsieglitterballs · 23/06/2017 07:21

@Zampa my very favourite! We've had 3 in the last week as I just can't get enough of them! The stinkier the better!!

GingerHanna · 23/06/2017 07:31

Back to the land of the living today. My friends wedding went really well although I hated the way I looked and felt overheated and crappy. Managed to keep it to myself for the day so there were no worries from others.

Himself and I have decided to get married before the baby comes. We have been engaged for a while but putting off getting married due to lack of funds. However with the complications and risks caused by my myoma and the laws here in the Netherlands on his rights and Power of Attorney we decided to quickly pull together a small wedding in Lewes. Between the venue fees, our flights for both the wedding and pre-visit registration and catering for 12-20 people, it's still going to cost quite a bit so we're raiding our UK savings. My hormones aren't helping me stay relaxed about it all!

Will be making my own dress as a) broke and b) 32H boobs mean nothing will fit! Date is 9 September so I have to get busy with it when back from holiday!

Oh, and the heat stroke has been much more manageable as it cools every day!

Ah congratulations @Ginger, that's lovely you will make your own dress :) We are getting married in August and although I already had a dress made that has now had to be completely redesigned, I am so glad we didn't change the wedding date. Having the wedding to focus on really helped me through the first 3 months of this pregnancy, after the MCs last year I think if we had waited til after the wedding and I only had the pregnancy to focus on I would've been even more anxious and obsessed/panicky.

My manager told me yesterday if I wanted I could go on maternity leave from after my honeymoon (15th -30th of September) but I am thinking I'll try and stay til mid-late October (due 13th of Nov.) It's so weird thinking about these things!! Feels ages away but OH is off on his stag this weekend, my hen do is 2 weeks after then before we know it the wedding will be here...eek x

Zampa · 23/06/2017 08:55

Congratulations Ginger. Hope that the planning I too stressful and that you have a lovely day.

Tootsie My friend bought me this after DD was born. It was yummy!

tootsieglitterballs · 23/06/2017 09:01

Gosh - all these weddings, making me reminiscent of ours! As someone who spent almost 15 years planning weddings, it doesn't matter how big or small, how much or how little money is spent, all that matters in that moment is the happy couple (and bumps of course!).

I've had several friends make their own dresses @GingerHanna and they are so special for that reason! I wished I had been better with the sewing machine and been able to make mine. We had 20 people at ours - it was perfect! And it rained. In fact, it poured! The day before I had to dash out and buy a second dress for the evening do as mine was so long, and our wedding was in a field and I didn't want it to be covered in mud!

tootsieglitterballs · 23/06/2017 09:05

Oh @Zampa .... I think I love you for sending me this link! I am salivating over my bowl of cheerios. Heaven in the form of cheese.

My wish list is currently, lots of cheese (all to myself, hubby can sort himself out) , a massive block of homemade pate, a platter of Italian cured meats, some rare venison, a nip of sloe whiskey and a glass of LP Rose! Not necessarily all together mind you.
Oh, and a cup of Earl grey - I've gone off it in pregnancy!

lydiangel83 · 23/06/2017 12:18

Congrats @GingerHanna I'm sure it'll be lovely - so nice you're making your own dress too! I hope you're able to enjoy the preparations x

TeamRocket · 23/06/2017 12:41

Hi everyone, it's not too late to join is it? A bit late to the party but I've been lurking since the first thread! I'm 20+2, we had our 20wk scan on weds and found out we're having a boy! It's definitely starting to feel real now Smile

butterybollocks · 23/06/2017 12:59

Welcome TeamRocket Smile

Gingerhanna congrats and how exciting! DH and I eloped a few years ago so we did everything on the cheap, we had a party 6 weeks later and didn't spend much - my mum made the cake, Mil made the decorations, my step-brother's band played, we did the buffet, a friend took photos, we used a village hall and the local brewery ran the bar.

I've called in sick to work this afternoon - feel completely run down and think I've got s virus as I've had a temperature over the past few days and feel achey. Watching trash TV for a few hours before I have to drag myself out on the school run.

lydiangel83 · 23/06/2017 13:21

@TeamRocket welcome!

@butterybollocks sorry to hear that, sounds similar to what I had a few wks ago and is not pleasant. Hopefully some rest, tea, choc, trash tv and paracetamol will help?

I've got loads of work to do and currently painting my nails ahead of anniversary wkend away!

DryHeave · 23/06/2017 16:14

We've provisionally booked a nursery place. For January 2019. Feels absolutely crazy (seeing as we've not had the 20 week scan yet & not really bought any stuff) but places in our ideal choice apparently get booked up fast.

Teachervoice · 23/06/2017 16:34

Hey ladies, has anyone noticed a CRB measurement on their 20 week scan notes?

Teachervoice · 23/06/2017 16:35

@DryHeave that's mad! I've heard it's necessary though - how scary!

Zampa · 23/06/2017 17:10

Just to reassure, I sorted a nursery place just a couple of months before returning to work after DD.

I know London nurseries are very competitive but it's certainly more relaxed in Manchester!

PrincipalCelestia · 23/06/2017 19:49

@DryHeave mine is all down to start nursery in Jan 2019 too! Crazy! I just had to put 'baby' as their name.
It's busy where I live and this amount of time to wait for a nursery place is normal (south east)

Hazandduck · 24/06/2017 00:00

It's madness thinking about all this nursery stuff, makes it seem so real!! So exciting. I just saw a March 2018 antenatal thread has popped up and it hit me that we are in our fifth month of pregnancy!! It's going so fast. In other news, my OH's two besties came round tonight to drop off his stag do travelling outfit for tomorrow...because of my love of the Little Mermaid they have got him an Ariel costume, lol! X
