Oh girls I feel ya on this heat! Our office has no air con and today in here it has been 29 degrees. I actually felt ill from it. I've booked Wednesday off now because I can't sit in our stuffy office in this heat for another day, and tomorrow I am in an office with air con for most of the day thank Christ! I feel huge already, I desperately need to start toning my arms, they are getting so flabby!

Hazandduck · 19/06/2017 17:16

Good luck to the 20 week scans too. Lydia - hope you are ok and get some answers soon x

lydiangel83 · 19/06/2017 19:48

Thanks all will let you know how it goes on Weds xx

lydiangel83 · 19/06/2017 19:48

Good luck for yours @PrincipalCelestia

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 20/06/2017 05:54

Hi all, I've not been on the thread in ages. Hope everyone is coping in the heat.
I'm currently lying in front of our fan in nothing but my pants with a damp sheet over me to try and cool down.

I just feel like a hot, swollen mess Sad

Good luck to everyone waiting for their next scan. Mine isn't for two and a half weeks, which feels a long way off. I still can't decide if we should find out if it's a boy or girl - I want to know, but at the same time, not knowing means I can't go crazy and buy loads of adorable outfits

lydiangel83 · 20/06/2017 07:12

Have barely slept and off in to London again today. Feeling sorry for myself and can't wait for reassurance scan tomorrow. Wedding anniversary today so got a nice meal planned for tonight at least

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/06/2017 08:54

has anyone known anyone to have the gender confirmed at the 20week scan and then it be totally wrong when baby is born?? I'm going to find out but don't want to go choosing names and buying stuff and it be wrong Grin

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 20/06/2017 13:39

Yes, a colleague of mine was told she was having a girl and her little boy is now nearly two.
I think it's less likely to happen the other way around though!

izzibee29 · 20/06/2017 14:12

@lydiangel83 happy wedding anniversary- hope you get spoilt. Not fun trekking to London in this heat I bet.

PrincipalCelestia · 20/06/2017 14:32

Thanks, my scan went really well Smile I was so so worried!
And we found out we're having a boy. There was no mistaking he is a boy, it's there for all to see!!Grin

Now just have to 'pass' the Doppler scan to check the placenta, but so far so good!

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 20/06/2017 15:07

Haven't been here for a while. Currently 17+4 and trying to combine buying a house with emotions all over the place. Managing with existing clothes so far (luckily my style is dresses fitted to waist with looser skirts), and hoping for some cooler weather for trying on clothes.

How are you all finding social things? Got a hen do this weekend that I was looking forward to but now not so much. I only really know the bride (have met some of the others but just found out none of our other uni friends are going). Also activity I was looking forward to and that wasn't about drinking has been cancelled (escape room) so spending a lot of money (I think I'm travelling furthest) to watch everyone else get drunk/play silly games (for 2 nights) and watch everyone at waterpark activity I can't do. I'm quite shy anyway, although more relaxed with people after a drink, so worried I won't really be part of things, although I'll do my best with games. It's the first time I've been bothered about not being able to do things, I've been out with people drinking plenty of times and that's been fine, and I'm annoyed with myself for feeling like this. But I'm only moaning here, will get it out my system and be cheerful for my friend and focus on her having a good time.

lydiangel83 · 20/06/2017 15:29

Thanks @izzibee29 :) having a meal locally tonight and going to Cotswolds at the weekend.

@PrincipalCelestia pleased your scan went well! How was it identified that you need separate scan? We are hoping to get this done as part of appointment tomorrow but it is expensive!

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/06/2017 15:32

@PrincipalCelestia great news!

@prettygirlincrimsonrose I've not been enjoying social things! mostly in my group of friends the events involve drinking and I hate being the sober person at a party or pub. also feel like I'm being used for designated driver A LOT. same as you I feel really shy without a drink. when my good friends are drunk theyre really annoying me, same as DH. this hen do sounds like a lot of money! but I'm sure you will enjoy some parts of it.

PrincipalCelestia · 20/06/2017 16:04

@lydiangel83 my 12 weeks blood test flagged up that I had very low Papp-A (< 3 percentile, 0.27MoM)...it can mean that there is a problem with the placenta (low growth) and pre eclampsia. It can also mean absolutely nothingHmm
It's a really new link so it's not entirely understood what it all means, but they screen people with low levels just in case.
It is crazy expensive to pay privately for a Doppler scan (£700 in my area!)

PrincipalCelestia · 20/06/2017 16:13

Oops think i may have mis typed that priceBlush
its still blooming pricey though!!

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 20/06/2017 16:16

Thanks Bubbas. I'm sure everyone will be nice, and it'll be fine, just not quite as excited as I'd normally be about girly weekend with lots of drinking!

Not sure with your friends but could you suggest meeting for (decaffeinated) coffee, or meeting with aim of doing something like pub quiz or a walk and pub lunch, so less focus on drinking?

theotherendofthesockportal · 20/06/2017 18:23

Just dropping by for a self pitying wail, my feet have expanded in the heat. I've had to buy an emergency pair of sandals that are done up with Velcro, they are the ugliest sandals ever. wails 😱😱😱

butterybollocks · 20/06/2017 18:24

I'm not coping well with socialising and am just sticking to seeing friends I know well - we went to see friends yesterday and I text them beforehand to tell them I'm shit company at the moment. They had a chair in the shade and a cold lemonade waiting for me when we arrived.

I feel a bit ill today - bit shivery and like I'm getting a cough. Also have s headache. Have a crucial meeting an hour away too so hoping I get some decent sleep tonight, it's a little bit cooler here.

lydiangel83 · 20/06/2017 18:41

Hi @Bubbasmama2017 I know how you feel. Just lost my sh*t (in a polite work sense) with my boss as she is so disorganised and doesn't understand my work and it's really frustrating.

Am tired and ratty and as DH said on permanent PMT! I'd take offence at that if it weren't true!

Just sharing some solidarity with you all (and your swollen feet)!

lydiangel83 · 20/06/2017 18:43

And hope you feel better soon @Bubbasmama2017

Zampa · 20/06/2017 19:14

Rude question time ...

How much weight has everyone put on?

I'm 17+5 and I'm 5 pounds heavier. It's totally not all baby and certainly quite a lot of Ready Salted crisps!

Must exercise and eat healthily!

tootsieglitterballs · 20/06/2017 20:13

Hi @Zampa , I'm 17+4 . Got weighed at 16+3 and had lost a Kg , however I don't believe scales anymore as everyone seems to tell me different! I thought I had put 3lbs on at that point (according to my scales) so who knows.
Those 3lb were solely through ready salted crisps, can't get enough of them!

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/06/2017 22:23

Very embarrassed now! 18+3 and already put on a stone and a half. I was eating a lot to start with as morning sickness/nausea was only relieved by eating. I'm making a real effort not to gain anymore.

lydiangel83 · 20/06/2017 22:25

I've put on 5kg not sure what that is in old money sorry. Am 21 wks tomorrow. Have grown bump massively in last few wks but also grown all over rapidly in last few weeks. I also ate all the carbs in first few months so tried to slow down a little only have one slice of chocolate cake per day since then!!

Bubbasmama2017 · 20/06/2017 22:27

I forgot to say my boobs have gone up about 4 sizes Grin and are incredibly heavy! So I think half a stone in on them
