Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

babayagga I'm convinced that mine has gone away! Good luck!

emwithme · 26/06/2017 10:43

thattwat and babayagga I also have a scan today. 7.45 pm. So nervous, but OMG the pukiness has really ramped up today.

Thought I was going to have to pull over to the hard shoulder on the motorway today. Does anyone know the legality of that? I only go one junction (5 mins on a good day) but the non-motorway way takes an extra 40 minutes because it's all windy country lanes (and bits where lorries get stuck if they try to pass each other). Fortunately it passed by the time I had moved to the inside lane but that was not a good moment.

GingerRogers84 · 26/06/2017 10:49

Hope all the scans go well today Ladies!
I've got my first midwife appointment today, it's just at the local GP surgery.
Feels all official now! ☺️

boringbetty · 26/06/2017 11:22

Hi can I join . I got my bfp last Tuesday on my birthday Smile . I had a miscarriage in march so hoping this one sticks . I'm currently 5+4 . Not rang midwife yet as currently in Portugal

PumbletonWakeshaft · 26/06/2017 12:06

Thanks everyone. Still bleeding today sadly.

thattwat hope your scan goes well. I've been sat by the phone waiting for a call from the EPU all morning, just rang them and was told I might not be contacted until tomorrow Confused not sure I can take the waiting!

emwahs have a look at these. I used them for breastfeeding pain but might help? www.kiddicare.com/p/Lansinoh_-_Therapearl_3_In_1_Hot_Or_Cold_Breast_Therapy.htm?product_id=553453&utm_source=pla&affiliate=KC-google-shopping&gclid=CPbU4OCu29QCFeK37QodVhkClQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thattwatoverthere · 26/06/2017 12:15

em I've had that fear on the way to work too! I'm guessing it's better to pull over to be sick than try when driving? I haven't actually been sick at all yet but the nausea sometimes feels like I'll get to that point. Good luck later!

The midwife appointment is a good moment for making it seem more real Smile and making your own family medical history that bit more concerning

Thattwatoverthere · 26/06/2017 12:18

Ah pumbleton this must be so hard for you. I have everything crossed that they can see you soon and give you some news Flowers

TriJo · 26/06/2017 12:41

Nausea is way worse this time here than last - feeling sick nearly all the time and really uncomfortable when commuting. I've started wearing my badge on the train, I know 7 weeks is awful early but I do feel a little bit better if I can get to sit down.

babayagga · 26/06/2017 12:59

boringnetty - welcome!

Pumbleton - another option is to go to A&E with a panicked face.. you might still have to wait for hours to be seen, but at least you'll feel like you're doing something?..

SquintySquirrel · 26/06/2017 13:40

Hi all,

Wishing all you ladies with scans today all the best!

Pumbleton I would also consider a trip to a&e if EPU don't ask you in?

I'm still freaking out that my sore boobs have gone and I've been feeling less hot and bloated - almost 6 weeks and away on holiday then have early scan booked for when I'm back on the 11th July so I'm hoping and praying all will be well but I'm convincing myself it's not which is just so horrible.

I'm also worried as it's quite a hot destination we're going to so of course I've convinced myself that I shouldn't be going!

I'm a nightmare!

SofiePendragon · 26/06/2017 16:13

squirrel I'm also on holiday and worried my symptoms aren't as bad as they were. But, I am finding that every time I exert myself, even a little, I feel exhausted again, so I think that relaxing and not being at work are actually just making it easier to deal with (fingers crossed anyway)

Good luck for everyone having scans soon!

Thattwatoverthere · 26/06/2017 16:43

Just back from the scan and saw my little bean Grin. Heart beating away and measuring 7+4 so I was only a day out.

Now I have to try and relax between this one and the 12 week, pretty sure I'll manage to work myself into a state before that one too. Reassured for now though that the mc risk is less than 5% now the heartbeat has been seen

Hope everyone is doing ok x

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2017 16:59

Ahhh Thattwat I'm so, so happy for you - you must be so relieved! And is that right about the 5% miscarriage risk? That's made me feel a hell of a lot better after my early scan last week...

PumbletonWakeshaft · 26/06/2017 17:04

That's wonderful thattwat how fabulous! you must be feeling much better after seeing that Smile

Would I confuse myself further if I did a pregnancy test? I have thought about going to a&e but for some reason feel like I shouldn't clog up the emergency system when I can wait until tomorrow. Not that I'm handling the waiting very well...

Thattwatoverthere · 26/06/2017 17:26

That's what the nurse said emily, if you see a heartbeat the risk lowers massively. I'm hoping she didn't make it up !

pumbleton it might confuse things but I don't know. You really are being so patient though, can they see you tomorrow. Has the bleeding got worse?

PumbletonWakeshaft · 26/06/2017 17:49

thattwat I will take myself off to A&E in the morning if I don't hear from the EPU I think. My friend said she can look after my little boy. Just did a pg test and got positive. I am none the wiser! Still getting consistent light bleeding with cramps. Been obsessively reading the m/c pages on mumsnet which might not be helping....

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2017 18:16

Pumbleton not to put a downer on things, but I've read that a pregnancy test can still read positive a few days after things go wrong because you still have elevated HCG in your body...I'm not trying to scare you, I promise - just being honest. Definitely think you should go to A&E if you can't be seen by the EPU tomorrow, it's unfair to make you wait like this xx

Blissfulignorance · 26/06/2017 18:35

@PumbletonWakeshaft have the epu explained why you have to wait? Is it that they're busy? Or not concerned by your symptoms?

My next scan will be Wednesday. They said there is no point in having 2 close together as they wouldn't be able to tell much difference. It was going to be Friday but after I explained the new differences and my anxiety they moved me forward.

It was explained to me that unless you have period like bleeding it will probably be ok.

Unfortunately mine is heavy with cramps and clots so doesn't look good at all.

Hope everyone who has had or is having scans finds that all is well and get some peace from it.

ELFR · 26/06/2017 18:39

@emwithme I have a 30-40 motorway drive each way to work, I'm dreading it if I am sick in the mornings, sick bags at the ready!

Booking in appointment today, all went well. There are so many appointments though! My midwife doesn't do evenings or earlies, are women just expected to give up work when they get pregnant?!

PumbletonWakeshaft · 26/06/2017 18:54

@emily that's ok I only did it to give myself a bit of hope that there's a chance things could still be fine. silly, but had to be done!

@blissful sorry you're going through this too. What a mare. Bit confused by my bleeding as it is clotty but not heavy so doesn't tell me much either way! I do have cramping but not severe. I haven't even spoken to the EPU yet just the maternity triage line (3 times) - EPU very busy apparently.

@ELFR yes! women should be in the home, donchaknow Hmm

toots123 · 26/06/2017 19:55

Great news @thattwat! We booked our early scan, only 3 weeks to wait. Haha

Sorry things aren't great @blissful and @Pembleton (and anyone else I've missed)

I'm getting a lot of cramping but I vaguely remember this being normal from last time. Anyone getting the same?
I've been waiting on a 3+ on a digi but got another 2-3 today at 5+2 so may have to wait until the weekend.

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2017 20:14

toots123 with you on the cramping, only really started this week (6+5), feels kinda like a stitch on one side. No idea if it's normal but I'm working on the assumption that it is...

GingerRogers84 · 26/06/2017 20:51

@toots123 I'm 7 weeks and 4 days and I've been getting light cramps since my period was originally due. I think it's normal.

So I had my first midwife appointment today at the GP and it was pretty brief. Just gave me my (green) notes, took my blood pressure and a wee sample.
I have my booking in appointment on Saturday. The midwife is coming to my house! I've never thought they'd come to my house!
I feel like I'm rehoming a cat and they are doing a home visit! 😂😂😂

Emwahs · 26/06/2017 22:20

Thanks pembleron re the nipple shields have had to keep a few pairs and keep the, heated all day! I do hope you and blissful get some good news.

Everyone has seemed to have their booking in appointment and mine is two weeks today will almost be 11 weeks getting impatient now. Hopefully will get a quick scan date :-)

emwithme · 26/06/2017 23:28

emwahs I don't have my booking in for 2.5 weeks (I'll be 10 + 4) but midwife says should be fine to organise dating scan on time with that.

We had our private scan this evening. My womb wasn't playing ball (it's apparently tilted backwards) but we saw a single bean, with a lovely strong heartbeat, measuring 7+5 (LMP dates say I'm 8+0 today) so everything going really well.

Am v reassured, especially after having a MC in March, so am glad we could see I flickering .
