Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

RainyDayBear it's intense isn't it! I've just finished one allocation and about to begin the next one. I've definitely been putting myself under a lot of pressure to meet all the deadlines - didn't really realise it was taking its toll, but I've had 4 sleepless nights in a row now. Whether this bleed is something to be worried about or not, I think it's a sign I need to ease off for this next lot. Bleeding seems to have stopped for now which is a relief so I'm not freaking out as much. Putting my feet up for the rest of the day now. Thank you for the support Smile

PumbletonWakeshaft · 25/06/2017 11:44

babayagga ahh I don't miss writing reports. Feeling for you. I didn't go back after DS1, it didn't make financial sense for us. I have been worried about lack of symptoms too, seems you're damned if you do and damned if you don't have them! Be careful what you wish for Confused

EmilyK83 · 25/06/2017 11:56

6w4d, and this morning a little bit of nausea's kicked in, which I'm actually pleased about, as long as it doesn't get too bad!

As a first-time, I'm loving some of the pregnancy apps that are out there that include week by week development and sizes, it's crazy to think how much happens this early!

lookatthemoon · 25/06/2017 13:38

Does anyone colour their hair? And if so are you continuing during pregnancy?

I don't colour but I do want to get some balayage (after 1st tri). I heard it is safe because it doesn't touch the roots/scalp at all but am curious about other experiences/opinions.

RainyDayBear · 25/06/2017 13:52

Pumbleton Yeah it's very full on. I think I'll hopefully just about get there with my allocation, but it's so stressful. Really wish the marking period was a bit longer! It was a lot easier last year when DD was nearly six months old and spent large chunks of the day napping (and I was on maternity leave). This year I'm working 3 days a week, pregnant and shattered, and DD is nearly 18 months old and demands a lot more of my time!!

lookatthemoon No idea about that, but last time round I asked about hair dye at booking in and the midwife said hair dye was absolutely fine - I still waited until the second trimester though.

Melody85 · 25/06/2017 14:44

Oh no I had my hair dyed a couple of weeks ago and didn't even think about it 😔
On another note does anyone know if we're allowed Stilton? I'm really craving some this afternoon!! X

choochooo · 25/06/2017 15:54

I've always checked with hairdressers and none have ever been concerned about dyeing my hair in pregnancy. I get it done regularly.

Stilton is a no I'm afraid - it's the mouldy ripening which makes it risky :(

choochooo · 25/06/2017 15:55

Oh hang on! I think I've got that wrong! I think Stilton is ok and it's soft mould ripened cheese which isn't allowed.

Melody85 · 25/06/2017 16:37

Great thanks @choochooo I'm going to make sure I have some later 😊
Thanks for the reassurance on the hair dye too, there are so many things to remember!!

PumbletonWakeshaft · 25/06/2017 17:02

So.. brown spotting has now turned to red Sad this is not looking good! My dilemma now is that I am due in London tomorrow for a compulsory training event. Do I go anyway and call the dr on Tuesday? Will one day make a difference?

babayagga · 25/06/2017 17:21

I had brown and red spotting at 6 weeks, had a scan at EPU and saw the baby's heartbeat, all was fine. They told me not to worry as long as the bleeding wasn't heavy or accompanied by cramps.

As for one day making a difference - as far as I understand, if it does happen, there is very little anyone can do, including the doctors (or am I wrong?) - but I am sure that is not what's happening to you!

PumbletonWakeshaft · 25/06/2017 17:39

@babbayaga I just phoned the local maternity triage line and they said similar. They said if the bleeding gets heavy with clots and there is moderate to severe pain then to go to A&E. I asked her about tomorrow, and she said that if it is a m/c then there wouldn't be anything anyone could do anyway, and if my symptoms remain the same as now then it won't hurt to wait til Tuesday and call the EPU then.

The only issue would be if my symptoms worsened whilst in London...

babayagga · 25/06/2017 18:08

Pumbleton - I hear you. Yesterday I had a light bleed in the morning, then was afraid to go for a walk with my family: what if I collapsed in a pool of blood in the middle of it? I chose to go, as the alternative was to stay in bed and obsess; had a very good time and was happy I'd gone.

In theory, that is something we are always at risk of. So by that token, we might as well never go out of the house...

PumbletonWakeshaft · 25/06/2017 18:25

babayagga currently lying on the sofa obsessing!! Nowt else to do but wait and see.

Blissfulignorance · 25/06/2017 19:49

Really sorry you're going through this @PumbletonWakeshaft it's an awful existence.

I have no idea what's going on still. Calling the epu in the morning. Also have to think about getting a sick note for the first time in ten years!

I'd like to thank all of you ladies for your well wishes and support. It really does mean a lot.

I sincerely hope you all have trouble free healthy pregnancies and babies.

For the time being I'll continue to wear pads and look at my gusset 200 times a day. Until the bleeding stops and probably forever.

EmilyK83 · 25/06/2017 20:25

Pumbleton and Blissful - hope you both get answers over the next couple of days, keeping everything crossed for you both Flowers

GingerRogers84 · 25/06/2017 21:06

Haven't been on for a while. I've been feeling awful for the last few days.
I'm bloated, a bit constipated (sexy) and can't eat much.
It was my birthday yesterday and my husband took me out for a fancy afternoon tea, which was lovely but it finished me off. I was in bed by the afternoon!
Also thanks to the bloating and ever growing boobs, none of my clothes fit properly anymore.
Pity party over! 😁

PumbletonWakeshaft · 25/06/2017 21:21

Thank god for online forums otherwise who can you vent to in these early weeks!

For the time being I'll continue to wear pads and look at my gusset 200 times a day THIS Blissful

I'm not going to London now, it's a relief to make a decision and means I can call the EPU first thing.

Emwahs · 25/06/2017 21:33

Hope all those going through a tough time take it easy and get some answers soon.

Got a rather extreme symptoms with my nipples sorry if TMI but everytime they get cold or a shiver goes through me they feel like they have been pinched and twisted, so so painful, has anyone else had or got this symptom? Would love to know how to ease it.

lookatthemoon · 26/06/2017 03:15

Emwahs I used to get something similar with my first pregnancy but I was much farther along (around six months?) The only thing that helped was gentle heat like a heat pad or hot water bottle. As far as I can remember it went away after a while.

Thattwatoverthere · 26/06/2017 07:17

I've got my early scan today and I'm terrified. I have to wait til 3pm and have no idea how I'm going to get anything done at work until then! Keeping everything crossed for a heartbeat... 🤞

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2017 07:37

Pumbleton hope you're feeling ok this morning

Thattwat keep yourself nice and busy today! Hope the scan goes well lovely.

Thattwatoverthere · 26/06/2017 07:59

Thanks emily. Will report back later Smile

babayagga · 26/06/2017 09:56

Thattwat I also have my scan this afternoon. Counting down the minutes... though the nausea is a 'helpful' distraction.

Pumbleton - glad you get to know how things stand today and not tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
