Oh my goodness! chocolate double congrats! how far along are you?

I had an early scan yesterday morning, I got stuck in hospital overnight as they were worried about ectopic and couldn't scan me at the time, it was a bit of an ordeal but I got my reward seeing the heartbeat, my only worry was the babies measuring a week behind, I was 6wk1 and they told me 5 weeks

MissyJones80s · 29/05/2017 00:16

Hi all. Got my first BFP last Friday-a total surprise as thought we were out this month due to DH being away when I ovulated...must have been a strong swimmer lurking!! Anyway EDD is 23 Jan. Only symptoms so far are cramping since just before I expected AF and sore boobs. Trying to stay grounded as know things can change so quickly.
Congratulations to you all.

Disinterested · 29/05/2017 06:37

Hi all, can I join? :)

After a pretty rubbish time of things recently, I found out 2 weeks ago my partner and i are expecting. I came off the pill in November due to the mood swings it gave me and this was the first time we had ever had unprotected sex so, although it does only take one time, it was still a shock!

I am now 6w 5d, so due on the 17th of January, and am so glad to have found this thread! I too keep checking my boobs to make sure they are still sore and running off to the bathroom to check my knickers haha.

I finally got my 3+ with clearblue this morning so I am really pleased. Grin

This is my first pregnancy so I will forewarn you that I will be asking a lot of questions here! Blush

flyingsprocket · 29/05/2017 07:20

Wow chocolate twins! Amazing!

forumusername you must be in Ireland? I had tickets to Guns n Roses but it clashed with a wedding Sad

My midwife called last night & I have my booking in on Wednesday, it's starting to feel a bit more real now....

weasledee · 29/05/2017 07:29

Hi missy and disinterested!
Congratulations and welcome to the group :) x

star1980 · 29/05/2017 07:34

Congratulations chocolate and rose!

Welcome to new bfps!

Rose, may I ask why they were worried about ectopic? Did you have any particular symptoms? I've had a dull ache in my left side on and off and not sure if I should be worried. not particularly worried atm.

KimmySchmidt1 · 29/05/2017 08:07

EDD is 25 Jan.

Is anyone else having this weird sensation where you really felt pregnant at first and now you've sort of gotten use to the sensation and at the times you're not feeling nauseous you start to think 'am I still pregnant?'

Rosehyd2 · 29/05/2017 08:09

Kimmy yes absolutely me - and now I regret feeling like that without appreciating it as I know feel so sick from the minute I wake up to the minute I (can't) fall asleep.

Rosehyd2 · 29/05/2017 08:10

*now, not know

Lolly34h · 29/05/2017 08:15

I'm due the same date as u kimmy and woke up this morning wondering exactly that. My boobs ain't as sore and I don't feel nauseous at all. I'm hoping it's just a good day.

weasledee · 29/05/2017 08:16

I'm having another day when I feel like I'm about to come on, mild cramps, mild backpain and feeling a bit warm!
Rollercoaster this, you can never relax fully! Confused

MissyJones80s · 29/05/2017 08:20

Hi all absolutely awful nights sleep, just couldn't get to sleep then when I was dropping off I had some sort of panic and sat up heart racing which passed in a few moments but didn't help with the not being able to sleep of course. When I did sleep I had random dreams. Grrrr feel like I only had an hour or so, off on holiday this morning at least wahoo.
On the feeling pregnant thing I pretty much feel the same I have done for over 2 weeks, nothing else has happened yet but I'm only 5+5 so waiting for impending nausea!
Does anyone keep doing tests to see if they are pregnant? I have aloads of ov tests in the bathroom cupboard and I have literally done one every day to see if a line still pops up, know this isn't good but can't get out of the habit...

MissyJones80s · 29/05/2017 08:24

weasledee I have that cramping thing, had it every day since cd 25. I think it's this cramping which led me to keep doing tests all the time. Some times it feels more crampy than others and sometimes not really crampy at all.

coragreta · 29/05/2017 09:01

Anyone read the thread about the woman giving birth at Portland? I just looked them up online. Omg! It sounds like a hotel. 24hr room service!

Rosehyd2 · 29/05/2017 09:14

Coragreta there was a tv documentary made about the maternity services at the Portland.. it looks insane! I would say catch up on demand if you can find it, but now I'm pregnant I'm not sure I want to see what I can't have!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 29/05/2017 10:01

I've just come from that thread. I don't really want to look it up because I might get sad about something I can never have Grin Curiosity may get the better of me though.

Roseandbee · 29/05/2017 11:03

@star1980 I went to the GP in the morning as I was concerned why my pains were mostly left sides, but the gp said its completely normal.
Get home and notice a bit of blood when I wiped (sods law it happened then) so I try and ring an EPU but as soon as i mentioned that as well as the bleeding i had left sided pain they said they couldn't see me and i have to go to A&E (i think its a liability thing as if you are ectopic then you need to be in A&E not an epu). The doctor wasn't overly concerned cos he said my pain would be much more severe if things were gong wrong, but he couldn't discharge me because I had a resting pulse of 120 and I mentioned feeling dizzy. They couldn't give me a scan there and then cos the EPU was shut, managed to get one the next morning. Anyway I wouldn't be too concerned if thats all you've got, but one thing i'd say is in hindsight is I wish I'd just gone for an early private scan to rule out ectopic as its only £45 near me and it took me over 5hrs to get seen in A&E and then an overnight stay waiting for a scan (plus this was the hottest day of the year with no air con in the hospital)

Maybebaby2 · 29/05/2017 11:58

Hi everyone just dropping in to say a quick hello, not been on for a while because all I think I'll do is moan, been feeling horrendous with nausea and exhaustion for last 5 days absolutely fed up with it! Anyway on the bright side I have booking in appointment tomorrow which is also my wedding anniversary but dh is taking me out for an early celebratory meal tonight, need to find energy to get dressed and hopefully not gag at the food!

Hope everyone else is doing well and not finding it all too stressful!

MissyJones80s · 29/05/2017 12:35

Happy anniversary for tomorrow maybebaby2
Question...the booking appointment should DH come or not I haven't asked him to come but now wondering if he should or needs to be there at all? I don't mind going alone to be honest we are both quite busy people.

Maybebaby2 · 29/05/2017 13:02

Thank you missyjones Grin
I don't think they need to be there, I'm not taking mine, only to the scans. Also they will ask him to leave the room while they ask you questions about domestic violence. Just make sure you know medical history from his side of family. Also it's a long appointment takes about an hour!

millsbynight · 29/05/2017 13:54

Huge congratulations @chocolateshortcake !!! TWINS Grin

Need to catch up on the thread properly and updated the list but huge thanks to the ladies that got back to me about my lower back. The pain has seemed to stop so I hope it was just stretching pains.

I'm still suffering horrendous flu so just chilling with DS watching The Lion King and I've cried through almost the whole thing. The film is just so cute and emotional I can't help but crying. DS thinks I'm a whacko. Damn pregnancy hormones!!!

Thanks Roseandbee, so glad everything turned ok and how amazing you got to see a heartbeat! Smile I hear what you're saying re private scan. Im only 6+3 right now so would like to hold off another week or two unless the pain gets worse. Totally gone this afternoon though so feeling quite calm.

chocolateshortcake · 29/05/2017 16:23

Thanks everyone! Think it's going to take a while to sink in 😂

WLMcI · 29/05/2017 18:34

Congratulations chocolateshortcake!
Welcome all newbies :)

Maybebaby happy anniversary Smile Our anniversary was yesterday and we went out for a nice pub dinner. I ordered onion rings, which were delicious but turned out to be a mistake...oh so ill feeling all night! Restaurant food is so much heavier than I make at home, I think I overestimated my pregnant digestion again! Grin

I got my 12 week scan date! 16 June--anybody else on that day??? It'll be 12+1 by my LMP date, but baby measured about 5-6 days behind that at the reassurance scan so it could be 11+ weeks in reality. 2 1/2 weeks to go, how will I cope?! I'm on the edge of reason a bit as morning sickness has mostly gone... still have all my other symptoms though, and still voraciously hungry, so trying to cling to that!

Maybebaby2 · 29/05/2017 21:05

Oh wow congratulations chocolate I think that's our 2nd set of twins on this thread!

Thanks wlmcl and happy anniversary to you too! Fortunately I wasn't feeling nauseous tonight for the meal... unfortunately that meant I ate EVERYTHING on the menu! Not the best idea!!
Hopefully the next couple of weeks will go fast for you. Mines not till 3rd July 5 weeks away... I'll swap appointments with you!?? Grin
