Time for a new thread methinks.. will pop a link to this in the old one. Make yourselves comfy ladies - this one might see a few of us into the 2nd trimester 😱😱😱

Bet it was nice to see the little one though @Sereniela Smile Hope everything was otherwise well.

Re drinking water, probably better to need to partially empty than to have to sit in the waiting room for another hour sipping more water, no?

It is confusing though - I had my 12 week scan on Monday, and am having another today (at a different place); was required to have a full bladder for Monday but not for today's?! Bizarre...

CarlottaJo · 25/05/2017 09:04

Ahhhhh the full bladder, I definitely drunk waaaaaaay too much before my last one, was nearly bursting! She said a normal bottle of water would have done, rather than the 3 glasses and a hot drink I had in the 2 hours before hahahaha. Honestly was probably more concerned about my soon to explode bladder than the wellbeing of my teeny bean Blush

Oysterbabe · 25/05/2017 09:08

Yeah you really don't need to go overboard on the full bladder thing. Have a wee and then a pint of water an hour before and you'll be fine.

Brens13 · 25/05/2017 09:10

Grin I was having this conversation with my mum the other day about how much and how soon before you'd need to drink it. Neither of us could decide how long it takes for water to get to your bladder and if the speed is affected in anyway by you eating. We are normally two very sensible and fairly smart people but this had us musing for quite a while!!

glastogal · 25/05/2017 10:23

Have any of you ladies received your exemption certificate for free prescriptions etc yet? I got a prescription the other day and realised it's been 5 weeks since my midwife appt. Should I call someone to ask, do you think? Luckily the pharmacist let me tick the box and have the drugs free but I'm wondering how many times that will work 😂

Glasto I haven't but then mine has only been sent off for a week. Time is just going so slowly at the moment I'm sure.

pauseplayrepeat · 25/05/2017 14:07

glasto mine took 2 weeks to arrive. You can claim back if you get a green receipt from the pharmacy when you collect, although hopefully your pharmacy will let you check the box in good faith.

Beardy1 · 25/05/2017 14:10

It took 2 weeks for me. I would chase it up.

CarlottaJo · 25/05/2017 14:22

Mine came today actually, felt a bit funny reading 'after the birth of your child' on the letter......my child?! OMG! Had my nails done and am now sitting outside eating (supermarket non raw fish) sushi, it's absolutely boiling! Xx

Peachi82 · 25/05/2017 14:29

I had one already because of my thyroid gland, but it expired and I've not managed yet to get the new one signed off. So far it was always OK in the pharmacy, but I only needed the thyroid medication anyway, so they know that I am exempt.

Working from at home today. Had a medium crisis this morning, crying and feeling absolutely down... I went back to sleep after my post here at 4am and had a dream that I went to the scan and there was nothing and people were angry at me and said that this is fraud and I'm not really pregnant and that all my symptoms are imaginary.

Beardy1 · 25/05/2017 14:31

Omg peach big hugs to you. Pregnancy dreams are brutal. I keep dreaming about mum being alive and wanting to meet the baby. It's heartbreaking!!

Try and not focus on the dreams, it's just your hormones playing crasy tricks on you.

glastogal · 25/05/2017 14:44

Bah.. my form apparently got lost in the post! So I'm going down to the surgery to fill out another. At least it's a walk!!

Oh how annoying. Phew to ringing and finding out. Hope they sort it soon.

CarlottaJo · 25/05/2017 16:26

So tired. And I haven't really done anything Blush

LapinR0se · 25/05/2017 17:11

Went to a big hypermarket in France today and felt like I was going to faint about 5 times. Then to a BBQ where I ate very well but just came home and had a terrible acid puke.
Husband has invited people over for drinks this evening think I will have to bail Sad

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/05/2017 18:17

Had my Panorama test and scan today. Results in a couple of weeks. Little biker has grown exponentially and est due date is coming forward again by another 2 days (now 28 Nov)! At this rate I'm going to be a heffer soon! 😂

The cheeky muffin kept moving around as well - face up, face down, turning to the other side of the womb, kicking, legs crossed Buddha style etc etc! And we heard the heartbeat (previously seen only) for the first time ❤️ strong and healthy!

LapinR0se · 25/05/2017 18:21

Great news bikerchick!!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/05/2017 19:05

Thank you 😄 by the way, LB has grown 1.3cm in 3 days! No wonder she measured twice and then reduced it by 0.2cm in the actual report - probably didn't want to scare me! She was shocked that Monday's scan only brought the EDD forward by 2 days.

mamalovesviolet · 25/05/2017 19:06

Just scrolling down reading about NCT classes. Mine started in September and ended with a breastfeeding session mid October - for a mid November due date. (Ended up having baby 5 days after the breastfeeding session haha!) So I was the first in the group to give birth. It was nice when the other babies arrived but I did have my Mumsnet group for company as there were some early babies there.

I think the content is broadly the same across the board but the teacher is important. Ours was good and didn't push an agenda on us.

I might do a refresher depending on cost as I was so lucky to meet lovely ladies and hope I would be lucky again.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/05/2017 19:10

Thanks @mamalovesviolet Helps to hear someone's experience on when they gave birth relative to the rest of the NCT group.

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/05/2017 19:47

Congrats biker. That's wonderful! So happy for you.

Glasto my exemption card actually arrived today after all, so I'm glad you found out what happened to yours.

feelingcalledlove · 25/05/2017 20:09

The early scan went well Grin measuring about right for the dates (9+1 according to LMP) with a strong heartbeat. Am so relieved, had really convinced myself there would be a problem.
