Fingers crossed this works, no idea how to make a thread but giving it my best shot. Let the May babies continue!

I was gonna go out for a walk but DS really doesn't want to go out and DH isn't exactly enthusiastic either.

Badgerbird · 21/05/2017 11:10

Welcome Baby Rupert!! Well done bright, sounds like you've had a really rough time. I hope all the snuggles are helping.

So all these people texting you all did they wait till due date to start asking? Sounds annoying!! Think I've been lucky.... I get the odd one asking how Rosie is from my mum or bf but that's it. Guess it's coz I've got another few days till due date?

Would it be nice to go out for a walk on your own fox or do you need the distraction at the moment? I'm a loner so quite like a walk and coffee on my own..... not for much longer of course!

Badgerbird · 21/05/2017 11:20

And rustler, thinking of you and hope all going well :)

MrsJW15 · 21/05/2017 11:52

@savagehk the texts are driving me mad. And I'm basically finding that I don't want to see anyone because I don't want to talk about how I'm still pregnant. I'm in a very grumpy mood today. @FoxMulder I also usually prefer the pool during the week but I'm off for a swim now to try to cheer myself up.

FoxMulder · 21/05/2017 12:21

I'm not doing too bad on unsolicited texts actually. Probably because I've got no mates Grin.

I've got DS and DH out now. Feel better. I guess I could have gone for a walk on my own just didn't fancy it. Also, I managed to fall over in a park yesterday so I'm not to be trusted to be alone!

FoxMulder · 21/05/2017 12:22

Leaky boob club - I needed pads for ages and ages. Sorry.

1004Rise · 21/05/2017 12:35

@Brightsmoke congratulations, hope you're not feeling too battered 💐

💐🍰☕️ for the fed up club, hope you're not getting too many daft messages!

Night times are officially not fun... if I didn't have to eat I think I'd hibernate during the day... she seems to sleep longer then! She is still gorgeous though!

Barnes79 · 21/05/2017 12:47

Just been to have Baby Barnes tongue tie snipped. Keeping my fingers crossed that helps with feeding...

teainbed · 21/05/2017 12:51

So cute @1004Rise ! Sympathies on the night duty! It's like the sun goes down and they realise the bar is open and it's time to party. Grin

Yeah also in the leaky boob club. It goes on for ages for me!

Fed up club maybe head out for a walk somewhere rural without your phone, bag and with no pad you're guaranteed to go into labour! GrinWink

Rustler74 · 21/05/2017 12:58

So !
Here's the news x
Our little bundle has arrived. Weight was 3.495kg so growth scan grossly overestimated!
Name: Geoffrey Georges Mitchell
Needless to say we are in love ! And knackered x

MrsJW15 · 21/05/2017 12:59

Ha @teainbed worth a try!

@Barnes79 hope that helps with the feeding.

Gorgeous @1004Rise!

MrsJW15 · 21/05/2017 12:59

And congratulations @Rustler74!!

1004Rise · 21/05/2017 13:51

@Rustler74 congratulations!! 💙💙

lullaby23 · 21/05/2017 14:27

Congratulations rustler!

Another long term leaker here, I wore pads for at least 4 months I think? Always leaked a bit on the side I wasn't feeding on and in the early weeks had unsolicited let down every 2 hours or so!

RasperryInAMelon · 21/05/2017 14:32

I managed to 'force' DH to go play on the PlayStation for a few hours uninterrupted, meant I could have a tub and watch Lion King and Aladdin - I was going for the treble with Beauty and the Beast, but he's just said it's such a nice day, lets go for a little walk to entice baby and the promise of an ice cream... who could resist?

Lots of hugs to everyone in the fed up and leaky boob club x

EsmesBees · 21/05/2017 14:50

Congratulations rustler! Beautiful baby.

And very cute pic rise the nights can seem to go on for ever at this age.

Took DD to a second birthday picnic in the park earlier, and she was in such a mischievous mood. I spent most of it running after her and retrieving her from far flung corners. Got a lot of shocked and sympathtic faces when I told people number 2 is due today. But it's not like you can keep them in all the time, and hopefully all the running around will get things moving.

newbieho · 21/05/2017 15:34

Congratulations @Rustler74 and welcome baby Geoffrey 👋

@1004Rise She is beautiful, love the colourful outfit too

@Barnes79 🤞

Hugs to all fed up and waiting

Baby newbie went for his first walk and took a bus to the local farmers market. We managed to get back home for a feed and nappy change. Visit to the local breastfeeding consultant drop-in group is on cards tomorrow. Hopefully I can get some advice on better latching/ positioning as my boobs are on fire during most cluster-feed evenings/nights.

teainbed · 21/05/2017 16:28

Congratulations @Rustler74 ! Beautiful picture. Hope you're ok. Smile

Tickyboovicki · 21/05/2017 17:20

Just caught up in several pages! Congrats to all new arrivals! Crazy to think how far we've come since j found this group.
Massive hugs to those still waiting and fed up as well. Fingers crossed bubbas start making an appearance soon.

@teainbed how did you start expressing? I don't know how old he should be before I start, and when is best to express etc but again every now and then it would help.

Right I've decided I think a stretchy sling would be beneficial, any recommendations?

We've finally moved, family we're amazing so all essentials are unpacked which is amazing. Other halfs gone diy mad so the house is a state which is infuriating me no end!
I'm still madly emotional and crying every time Freddie is sick or anything, definitely need to try get that under control.
First health visitor appointment tomorrow as well.

OP posts:
savagehk · 21/05/2017 17:41

If you're happy to 'wrap' the sling when you use it, Moby / Hana would be my choice, or Je Porte Mon bebe (the more expensive version though, which is what we have). They will last a bit longer (weight wise) than some of the cheaper ones (but anything will work for a newborn!).

If you don't want to wrap it each time, the close caboo.

Brightsmoke · 21/05/2017 17:56

Thanks everyone. He really is perfect 😍

I feel your pain @1004Rise, I slept roughly 34 seconds last night. He fed for over an hour with less than an hour between each feed. And same as you, he sleeps well in the day but not really at night 😩

Congratulations @Rustler74

Fingers crossed running has helped @EsmesBees

Milk has just started to come in for me, so I'm sure I'll be joining the milky boob club soon!!

Had a lovely dog walk yesterday and went to a local mum2mum sale, got one real bargains on boy items so he can now wear gender specific, woo! Today has been a bit alert paced with just a shopping trip and family visiting, 3 lots of visitors was a bit much though, won't be making that mistake again!

Hope everyone is doing well and fingers crossed for more babies soon

EsmesBees · 21/05/2017 18:20

ticky the close caboo is a great sling. I think you can only use it for 6 months though. The Kari me is one you have to wrap your self, but easy to get the hang of, and they can go in it for years.

I hope you are getting some day time naps in between all those visitors bright. These early nights can be exhausting

PeachIcedT · 21/05/2017 18:36

I just love hearing all the new arrivals! Congratulations @Rustler74 and @Brightsmoke and the fed up club I feel for you, it seems like ages but it won't be, at least you can take advantage of this nice warm spell we seem to have.

After a bad night previously, baby Peach had a great night last night - waking for feeds at 1:30 and 4:30 then 6:30. It makes all the difference to my sanity. Finding breastfeeding tough and my nipples look like they've been in a war but it's tricky getting the latch right at night when you're exhausted. @newbieho good idea to try out the drop in session, I would go if I thought I could safely leave the house!

mightymouse76 · 21/05/2017 21:07

Congrats @Rustler74, @Brightsmoke and all the other grads to the leaky boob club.

Really hoping the fed up club get some baby action asap- I found those last two weeks super tough and I only went to 38w! Thinking of you all

@newbieho and @PeachIcedT, are either of you in London? I had a brilliant (and slightly batty) lactation consultant come to my house last week as my nipples were bleeding due to poor latch and tongue and lip tie. (Which she diagnosed). She was £70 for 2 hours and whilst I hadn't planned for that cost it was so worth it to feed pain free! I can pass on details if anyone would like to use her.

@Brightsmoke Ouch for last night!! Was a bad one here too- think I got 2 hours max, and one of those was when I accidentally fell asleep with him on me still ShockConfused
I have a meltdown every day now as I'm so tired and emotional.

Really hoping we get better nights tonight- my boy has such bad wind though that it's so hard to lay him down after feeds, even with infacol! He just kicks off big time.
Can't wait to get his tongue sorted this week...should really help...
