Fingers crossed this works, no idea how to make a thread but giving it my best shot. Let the May babies continue!

What a pout he has got dream - gorgeous boy!
Hope your home soon.

Good luck to all those on the induction / final days before induction trying to get baby out train!

Badgerbird · 19/05/2017 16:27

Oh god he's gorgeous dream Smile

Good luck rustker, thinking of you x

BouncingBlueberry · 19/05/2017 16:33

He's gorgeous @dreamofhungarianlanterns giving mine a talking to as we speak to make an appearance. Spent last night awake with cramps and feeling sick. Went to second sweep today and she couldn't do as much as my other midwife could on Tuesday although she was very rushed and didn't really try to relax me. Looks like blueberry is bound for induction on Tuesday

newbieho · 19/05/2017 16:46

He looks lovely @dreamofhungarianlanterns , look at those lips!

1004Rise · 19/05/2017 16:49

@dreamofhungarianlanterns what a heartbreaker!! Well done for standing up to Dick GrinBrew

@Rustler74 thinking of you!

PeachIcedT · 19/05/2017 16:54

Checking back in after a bit of an absence as my sweep on Wednesday afternoon turned into labour and baby peach arrived on Thursday morning! It was a longer labour than any of the fast ones in my family (about 12 hours from very first contraction) and 2 hour pushing stage but I managed to avoid the need for stitches which is helping me now. Struggling to use my phone much as hands are not usually free but trying out the lying down BFing position which is a bit easier on the arms. Congratulations to all who have recently had their babies and good luck to those imminently due. Will try to post on the birth stories thread if I can keep my hands free!

MrsJW15 · 19/05/2017 16:54

Positive if the gel is working @Rustler74!

@Sonnet18 and @BouncingBlueberry let's hope our babies get moving soon! Can't believe mine is so close but still no contractions.

@dreamofhungarianlanterns good work on the feeding. Can't believe they pressured you to top up!

teainbed · 19/05/2017 17:17

Congratulations @PeachIcedT !

@dreamofhungarianlanterns he is gorgeous, and glad you're sorting the feeding issues.

uptown8617 · 19/05/2017 17:33

Congratulations Peach. Smile

My sweep on Wednesday did absolutely nothing, which is fine. Although I'm only 2 days overdue and feel about 2 weeks with the number of messages I get! I never thought it would bother me but it's making it feel like even longer!

My partner's the worst though. Wakes up in the morning and asks me if there's anything happening - as if I might have been silently labouring all night without him noticing!

CoxsOrangePippin · 19/05/2017 18:51

peach big congratulations! Look forward to the birth story on the other thread.

uptown that's very funny about your DP

EsmesBees · 19/05/2017 19:06

Congratulations peach. Was it a boy nor a girl?

Uptown mine is driving me mad too. Asking if anything is happening every two minutes.

Had my 'birth preparation' acupuncture earlier. Nothing like I expected. I sat up on the bed and took my legging off, and she stuck pins in my ankles, lower legs and hands, and then came back every 10 minutes to stimulate them. It was fine, but not relaxing like the previous acupuncture Ive had. It's meant to make recovery easier rather than bring on labour, but she reckons it can help.

Sonnet18 · 19/05/2017 19:27

uptown as silly a question as it is, I was in labour all night with dd and didn't wake dh as I thought I just had an upset stomach!! It's now been our running joke the past few weeks that he asks if I'm in labour. It's wearing thin now at 41 weeks! I too am sick of the messages and have decided to ignore them all now. Will contact people once I actually have news!
peach what a lovely picture! Congrats!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned (preferably with some more of us going into labour!)

newbieho · 19/05/2017 19:44

Big congratulations @PeachIcedT on your little one arrival! It was easier for me to start BF lying on one side as well but after a few days I managed to learn cradle hold position.

Badgerbird · 19/05/2017 21:23

Oh peach that's such great news congratulations Smile

esme that acupuncture sounds interesting. I've not heard the making recovery easier bit before. I may ask my guy. Was gonna have a chat with him anyway re helping bring on labour incase I go overdue as would really like hb and know they not happy to do that after 42 weeks. I have a while yet....

Question for the bf mums... do you have to wear nursing bra at home/in bed or does a sports bra/ crop top/vest top with in built support work with breast pads?

savagehk · 19/05/2017 22:25

Any bra will work with breast pads but you'll struggle to feed in a non breastfeeding bra, and at first you'll be doing a lot of feeding!
I tried the acupuncture to bring on labour thing last time, nope. This time not really trying anything except walking.

MrsJW15 · 20/05/2017 00:23

I think acupuncture is the only thing I haven't tried now!!

lullaby23 · 20/05/2017 01:41

Congratulations peach and well done baby dream for passing the tests and showing Dick where to go!

Hope things are moving along for you rustler and let's hope we have a flurry of weekend babies!

mightymouse76 · 20/05/2017 03:48

@Badgerbird i don't bother with a bra at the mo, but even my milk bar boobs aren't hugely impressive! I have found it easier to just wear dark loose vests or t-shirts that I can hoik up easily to give full skin to skin, and that won't show the occasional milk leak. My boy is feeding a good ten times a day so it just suits me right now - I'm not really leaky (and I'm def not getting 'dressed' to see people so it seems less important). Easy access and comfort are the goals so if you can do that with existing clothing then all good Smile

EsmesBees · 20/05/2017 06:15

Badger you can get soft bras for feeding at night. You can just pull them down and get the boob out. Mine are from JoJo's. I only used them for the first bit until I stopped leaking.

Sonnet18 · 20/05/2017 06:37

Sorry, meant to write congrats peach and lovely photo to dream!

Barnes79 · 20/05/2017 13:33

We had a rather speedy arrival (2 hours start to finish) this morning, a whole 9 days early. Still trying to recover from the shock of it and to come up with a name. We're also waiting to hear from the Consultant Paediatrician as I got Shingles 3 weeks ago and they aren't sure if baby will need treating for it (and therefore a week long stay in hospital). Fingers crossed he doesn't need to stay in.

Will write my labour story on the other thread.

Northernexile · 20/05/2017 13:40

Huge congrats peach, dream, barnes and anyone else I've missed! Beautiful photos too. Sounds like you had a dramatic morning barnes- hope issue with shingles is soon sorted.
We had babynorthern's tongue-tie snipped on Wednesday, which seems to have improved his latch but not his terrible wind, and we had his christening last night, so it's been a busy week here. Have MIL's 60th tomorrow now too!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend, whether wrestling newborns or (not so) patiently waiting!

newbieho · 20/05/2017 13:50

Congratulations @Barnes79 , beautiful baby 💜

Barnes79 · 20/05/2017 13:57

The good news is in about shingles - no treatment needed. He is also tongue tied so have that to deal with at a later date.

Badgerbird · 20/05/2017 14:04

Oh my goodness barnes!!!! Congratulations Smile I was just thinking that you, me and bean are due around same time and was gonna ask how you were!?! Glad little one won't need to stay in. Gorgeous little face!!

Thanks for bra/bf advice everyone. :)

Any movement raspberry? Hope you ok.

Have a good time tomorrow northern
