Fingers crossed this works, no idea how to make a thread but giving it my best shot. Let the May babies continue!

Hugs to @newbieho and @mightymouse76. Hope you are both feeling better soon.

Less fed up today, probably as I know induction is tomorrow! Very uncomfortable though - baby is really pressing down. Had a lovely anniversary lunch, with a small glass of wine. But that, plus a swim this morning and not much sleep have left me pretty tired. Trying to get some rest before things get started.

Tickyboovicki · 23/05/2017 16:53

Sorry to hear that @newbie, hope it gets sorted soon for you.

Huge thanks to everyone who gave me advice on slings etc, had a consultation today from our local sling library & now have 2 slings in hire to try! Safe to say Freddie loves it 💕

@1004Rise I kept a list in my phone and ordered some thank you cards. I actually just got emailed a £5 off voucher for friends and family for Optimal Print if you're interested?

@Tickyboovicki sling looks great!

Badgerbird · 23/05/2017 17:20

Ouch newbie here's hoping the antibiotics kick in quickly and for you too mouse! Hope baby's snip went well?

Huw far gone will you be thurs fox?

Hope things go well for you redblu

Sling looks fab ticky, which one is it?

Had a lovely cuddle with my friends 16 day old baby today :)

Brightsmoke · 23/05/2017 17:39

Dream, I'm really struggling to keep up as well now! Thanks. I'm so in love with him, I didn't know it was possible to love something that keeps you awake all night so much 😍 Harrison reminds me of the baby on the johnsons baby wipes packet. Fab news about the 2% loss, up yours Doctor Dick!

Congratulations @lullaby23 and @Sonnet18

Hope all is well @ClaireSunflower

Sorry to hear that @newbieho, fingers crossed it's sorted soon for you!

@Tickyboovicki, he looks very happy and comfortable in there 😘

Keep hoping every time I come for a catch up, the FUC is reducing and there's more little baby spam pictures

I've managed to master eating everything from toast, to fish, to roast dinner. Today is the first day I've felt comfortable, though that is potentially from the codeine 😂
Rupert had his 5 day check today, 4.5% down on his check and passed his hearing test. Just the wait for the heel prick results!

Tickyboovicki · 23/05/2017 17:41

@badgerbird it's the close caboo, also have the connecta to try as I can see my other half preferring that one!

newbieho · 23/05/2017 19:14

Both baby Freddie and you look fab Smile

Well done baby Rupert @Brightsmoke

Thanks everyone for well wishes. BF consultant confirmed baby newbie has got a bit of a tongue tie and we would need to be seen once more to be referred to King's. At least some of a mystery behind baby newbie's possessed behaviour has been explained Envy

EsmesBees · 23/05/2017 19:22

Hope the sweep went well Raspberry and things start moving for you.

Ticky you do both look gorgeous, and so happy. My eldest loved the close caboo too.

Newbie glad the consultant helped. Amazing how often tongue tie is missed at the newborn checks.

Spent most of today being incredibly bored. I know I moaned lots about working until last week, but maternity leave does not suit me. No sign of any baby here but more acupuncture tomorrow which hopefully will help.

Congratulations on your anniversary MrsJW. Hope you get some decent rest before the induction.

RasperryInAMelon · 23/05/2017 20:06

@Autumnsweater pleased to hear you're safe and sound!

@MissMooMoo @MrsJW15 @vanilla8 happy Anniversary ladies!

@newbieho ouchy 😔 I hope you're on the mend soon lovely, a friend of mine had it too and said it was awful - hugs x

@mightymouse76 hope you and little mouse are feeling better now too?

@1004Rise I had a baby shower and took a lovely photo of everything we were gifted and did a big Facebook thank you and tagged everyone in it - was a lot easier. Will probably do something along the same lines with anything gifted post baby arrival to thank people for cards, gifts and well wishes etc a few weeks after the birth

@EsmesBees Sweep didn't happen in the end - after all the MW said last Appt, she suggested waiting a few more days, so I've got the first one booked for Sat (40+3) and a second booked for Tues (40+6) and then if nothing by then she'll book me another for Fri (41+2) and we'll keep going from there... a little gutted if I'm honest, but we'll see what happens I guess

EsmesBees · 23/05/2017 20:20

Oh that is gutting raspberry, especially if you are keen to get things moving. I'm not being offered one at all this time until 41 weeks.

Anyone heard from SanitySake or Nursebickypegs? Just wondering how they are getting on.

RasperryInAMelon · 23/05/2017 22:22

@EsmesBees yeah, it all goes along with my extreme anxiety about the delivery suite and the possibility of being induced. I'm trying to ignore the twinges as it just makes my brain work overtime and get my hopes up...

lullaby23 · 24/05/2017 02:38

Re: thank you cards we had some announcement cards made up and scribbled a note on the back for anyone who gave us a gift, will probably do the same again.

After an unsettled evening DD slept for nearly 6 hours and was would not be woken for a feed Shock just hoping she's getting enough calories during the day, last time my milk took 3.5 days to come in. We should be discharged tomorrow fingers crossed she hasn't lost too much.

lullaby23 · 24/05/2017 02:39

Forgot to add cheering on the FUC ladies, hope to hear some more announcements soon!

mightymouse76 · 24/05/2017 03:54

@MrsJW15 thankyou, I'm so full of drugs I'm practically rattling. Keeping my fingers crossed for your imminent arrival! Will be keeping fingers crossed.

@Tickyboovicki Love the pic, and jealous of the sling! Keeping my wanting to go to our sling library but it's once a week on wed mornings and I haven't been well enough yet . Here's hoping I get some sleep tonight (pigs would fly)

@Badgerbird Thanks it was pretty stressful but so pleased we had it done. Went private in the end for speed as we just want to ease his (and our!) pain as quickly as we could. I had to leave the room but DP bravely held his head during. We fed straight after and it felt instantly better - it's been so good to see his little tongue poking out his mouth for the first time! He had a 90% tie so pretty severe.

@newbieho We were recommended Kings also as the fastest NHS option- they apparently have the shortest turnaround. Good luck with baby newbie- to what degree is his tie?

Happy anniversary to @vanilla8 , @MissMooMoo and @MrsJW15!

And good luck @MrsJW15 , @RasperryInAMelon And anyone else due or due to be induced today. Can't wait for you to graduate to the sleep deprived milk bar crew!

Has anyone heard from @nursebickypegs ?
Wishing her well and hoping we see her again soon

My boy is busy nightfeeding... leaky boob crew, how are you dealing with the lack of sleep? I had a meltdown yesterday eve as had been out all day sorting his tongue so no nap to catch up in day. Was practically hallucinating come bedtime, knowing I was facing another loooong night of crotchety baby....this is as hard as nails!

mightymouse76 · 24/05/2017 03:59

Really basic question here too but we have a nasty red nappy rash and sudocreme not working. Consultant today said it can be an irritant

Any suggestions for a more natural option? Thank you!

Have just put him in his first reusable nappy to see if it helps...guaranteed a poonami as a result...!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 24/05/2017 05:02

Oh goodness mighty you're really going through it aren't you. Big hugs to you and Flowers. We've been dealing with a sore bum the last 24 hours too, tried metanium and then switched to sudocrem which seems to be improving things for us, sorry it's not done the trick for you. Nappy free time on an old towel has been fun and may have assisted. Any experience from the wise appreciated. Keep going mighty you'll get to a corner at some point!

lullaby23 · 24/05/2017 05:15

mighty glad you had the tongue tie sorted so quickly. Not really helpful as DS didn't get nappy rash until he weaned and sudocrem worked for us but could you try something like the Waitrose bottom butter? I'm assuming it's more gentle but you can check the ingredients.

Current mood here - afterpains, yow!

Tickyboovicki · 24/05/2017 06:33

@mightymouse76 thanks! Fingers crossed you got some sleep & make it today!

As for coping with lack of sleep, I'm not sure I am! I find it impossible to sleep in the day when baby sleeps (and he's generally on me anyway) so have really been struggling. Did manage to nap for a few hours yesterday evening once other hal was gone which has helped massively! Also appreciative of any tips for coping 🙂

Ha meant once other half was home, no chance of napping if he was gone!

WishIWasSleeping · 24/05/2017 07:13

Thank you's - I had comments back that people really appreciated the cards. (Just postcard type) when I sent out for DD. They can get a bit pricy, but I think even a little note helps. My SIL made her own with baby's footprint on the front of each one!

@teainbed I'm halfway through my optimal order, used them last time too and I was really happy with their prints. Could I use your code?

@mightymouse76 - tea and chocolate is how I'm dealing with no sleep. I'll be the size of a house soon no doubt. I think I'm living on the sugar rushes! And plenty of fresh air. I'm enjoying just being in the garden and having short walks. Although DS is sleeping for a good 4+hrs at night, DD still has nights where she's crying. Plus DS's shrill cry drives me crazy!

I tagged NurseBP the other day too, so that's 3 new tags she'll have! I hope you're well!

@mightymouse76 - no nappy time helps lots with both of mine. And I always found sudocreme to be totally rubbish. For DD johnsons nappy cream was the best, and didn't wash away with the wees between changing. Small white tube with blue writing. Is about £5. Followed by bepanthan when I couldn't find the Johnson's!

I was about to wish everyone a happy weekend- but it's Wednesday so I'll maybe not do that for another couple of days!! Grin
Loving the lovely warm sky, although carrying round both children yesterday made me a bit of a sweaty mess!! Confused

FoxMulder · 24/05/2017 08:02

mighty Weleda Nappy Change cream is nice, natural and effective and also ok to use with cloth nappies, which most creams aren't.

MrsJW15 · 24/05/2017 08:15

Morning all, hope the night wakers got some sleep! I've had 4-5 hours which is less than ideal but not unexpected - I've been lying awake for the last hour.

I'm ready to get up and get going really. Can't imagine the next 24/48 hours will be entirely fun but looking forward to actually meeting this baby!

savagehk · 24/05/2017 08:36

We never had nappy rash, so can't help with creams, but reusable nappies are supposed to help as is nappy free time and changing as soon as there's a poo (the mix of poo / wee is supposed to be the issue).

EsmesBees · 24/05/2017 08:42

Lots of good luck for today MrsJW. The adrenaline will see you through.

I'm hoping to avoid an induction for the same reasons raspberry. They only let you go 11 days over here, and DD came at 10 days over, so not much wriggle room.

Mighty mine had (and still gets) terrible nappy rash. I'd recommend bepantham and if it lingers, take him to the GP.

The no sleep is really tough. This stage doesn't last for long, although feels like forever. The best thing you can do is learn how to feed lying down, then at least you can sort of snooze.

crazyzooo · 24/05/2017 08:47

Flowers Flowers and Wine for the FUC crew!

@mightymouse76 I have given up and started co-sleeping because I started to fall asleep when feeding him anyway I was that exhausted. Read a lot around it and have made my bed as safe as possible (DP also sleeping in the spare room as he is back at work). It means I can doze while feeding and get about 1/1.5 hrs of sleep between
feeds which = about 5 to 6 hours!!

Baby had awful nappy rash which is now almost gone (phew)! Used a combination of metanium, weleda calendula and bepanthen. Found bepanthen really useful as stops the urine/poo from touching the skin. Also using reusable cloths rather than wipes and have swapped to sensitive pampers (probably a marketing ploy but in desperate times..).

Good luck @MrsJW15 Smile
