Fingers crossed this works, no idea how to make a thread but giving it my best shot. Let the May babies continue!

Good luck Claire. Definitely better to be safe, and you'll have your baby very soon!

Interested to hear how you get on with the pessary - I'm also at least 2cm dilated, being induced Wednesday.

MissMooMoo · 23/05/2017 00:11

Goodluck claire !!

I have just woken up for my first wee of the night and I seem to have lost my plug properly.
TMI following,
Last night I noticed 4 little globs of blood floating around in the bath about the size of my little fingernail. This was just clear/milky snot like and REALLY long and stringy when I wiped. Normal for it to have no blood/pink tinge?

MrsJW15 · 23/05/2017 01:59

That's what I've been having @MissMooMoo. But it's been going for over a week now. Not constantly but every day. Lovely.

teainbed · 23/05/2017 02:06

Good luck @ClaireSunflower hope it goes well. Hopefully at 2cm you won't need much to get you started.

WishIWasSleeping · 23/05/2017 02:53

@ClaireSunflower - the pessary 'broke' my waters with DD last year, but did nothing for my contractions. That may have been because my waters breaking pushed it back out after only a few hours! Grin
I was induced (drip) with both of mine, and can honestly say I didn't feel it was a negative experience at all. I felt very in control of what was happening. (Except for the normal pushing stages delirium!) and actually liked the certainty that baby was definitely on the way.
Try and stay calm, and sleep if you can. You'll need your energy for pushing - it's useful to try and have a bit extra! xx

lullaby23 · 23/05/2017 05:09

Congratulations sonnet and good luck to claire and anyone else getting close to labour.

I am up and about and looking forward to a shower soon! DS and DH visited first thing which was lovely.

BouncingBlueberry · 23/05/2017 07:03

Still no baby here. Still leaking flipping fluid but st least I've had no more gushes. I was supposed to be being induced today anyway due to the GD but now I have to ring the labour ward at 9 instead of go to clinic as they may make me wait to see if I go naturally. Fed up now and fed up with having a soggy foof

MissMooMoo · 23/05/2017 07:20

@MrsJW15 had another bit of "show" this morning, more yellow with a pink tinge so I am sure this is plug. Do you have any hope you will go into labour yourself anymore? I am so hoping this is it but trying to be realistic at the same time.

MissMooMoo · 23/05/2017 07:27

@bouncingblueberry
Goodluck!!!

Autumnsweater · 23/05/2017 07:47

Good luck @clairesunflower and @bouncingblueberry

WishIWasSleeping · 23/05/2017 09:29

@mrspage1985 - any news this morning? x

@ClaireSunflower - how are you feeling this morning? x

uptown8617 · 23/05/2017 09:46

Good luck today everyone, hope some babies make an appearance.

After my failed sweep yesterday I've booked in for some reflexology on Thursday. If it doesn't bring on labour at least it will help me to relax and pass the time. (I'm also hoping the more plans I make, the more likely I am to go into labour and ruin them!)

RasperryInAMelon · 23/05/2017 09:59

Hoping that everyone is ok and no one was affected by last night - I know a couple of our ladies are in the Manchester area, fingers crossed you didn't need the emergency services last night xx

Autumnsweater · 23/05/2017 10:22

I was in Manchester city centre last night but thankfully nowhere near the arena and didn't know what had happened until this morning. Just horrible, poor people. Must have been terrifying.

MrsJW15 · 23/05/2017 11:31

@MissMooMoo still half hoping it will start on it's own but not counting on it. Just 24 hours until my induction and I'm hoping that whatever's been going on (losing lots of mucus, pain etc) means that the pessary just pushes me into natural labour or they can just break my waters.

Trying to enjoy today - it's our wedding anniversary tomorrow so we are celebrating a day early - and knowing that something will happen tomorrow!

mrspage1985 · 23/05/2017 11:39

Nothing happened here overnight, looks like it was the bottle of water spilt and wishful thinking! Thanks for advice last night ladies, hopefully it won't be too much longer before baby decides to let it be for real!!
Hope all Manchester people are ok xxx

vanilla8 · 23/05/2017 11:43

@MrsJW15 my wedding anniversary tomorrow too and baby's due date! Flowers good luck!

Very sad news about Manchester Sad

Badgerbird · 23/05/2017 12:41

Growth scan this morning was all fine :) funnily enough the sonographer had seen me in Sept to check my endometrial lining.... little did we know then that a little baby was snuggled in there then Smile

Thinking of you claire, just think you'll be snuggling that baby of yours soon!

blueberry soggy foof Grin Sorry that made me giggle. I really hope you are well and truly on the way!

FoxMulder · 23/05/2017 13:05

I booked a mw appointment for Thurs. Didn't want to because I don't want to talk about sweeps or inductions or anything! I'm totally happy to wait and trust my body. Not doing anything to try to bring it on because it will make me doubt myself.

RedBlu · 23/05/2017 13:46

Had a sweep this morning, all I will say is ow.

Apparently it was very favourable and I am nearly fully effaced (??) and she said something about being a good 1-2 and stretching to 3.

Now sitting on the sofa feeling very crampy

newbieho · 23/05/2017 14:36

I have got mastitis Sad which is weird as baby newbie feeds CONSTANTLY (5 hours in a row this morning). Hopefully antibiotics kick on soon. Breastfeeding consultant is coming over this afternoon. I hope she can give me some advice on positioning and nipple shields.

If any of you ladies develop shivers, high temperature and get red & swollen breasts please contact your GP and they will be able to help straight away.

mightymouse76 · 23/05/2017 15:29

Oh @newbieho you have my sympathies. I was a shadow away from it prior to getting the lactation consultant in. Boobs were getting really angry. Consultant helped me massively- my nipples have healed totally within a week (from scabbed and bleeding).

I've developed a UTI/bladder infection so am on antibiotics for that. Any c-section crew- if it hurts to pee again after the initial recovery, get seen. I started to feel weaker yesterday morning, and the painkillers weren't covering the discomfort anymore...

I'm just waiting at a clinic to have baby's tongue tie snipped- nervous for him!
Hoping it will help correct the terrible wind he has from not so great latch- he writhes and goes rigid crying between feeds, must be horrible for him...

EsmesBees · 23/05/2017 15:50

Oh Newbie I feel for you too. Mastisis is miserable. Glad you are getting some expert help Keep an eye on how the little one is doing once you are on the antibiotics. They made my 3 week old poorly last time.

teainbed · 23/05/2017 16:32

@newbieho that is a shame, makes you feel so unwell. Sometimes the baby isn't quite emptying one duct despite feeding well, changing positions can help I think to all the ducts get drained.

Be very careful of thrush those of you who are on antibiotics. Deep breast thrush was the most painful thing I have ever experienced (with DS1) and worth avoiding at all costs.

1004Rise · 23/05/2017 16:45

Aww @newbieho that's rubbish, hope the antibiotics clear it up soon 😣

Hope the FUC are feeling a bit more zen today 💐🤞for some babies soon though!

Etiquette question.... what do you do about thank yous for baby gifts... I'd like to know what I'm doing before the gifts pile up and I forget what came from where.... 😳
