kiwibella · 16/03/2007 14:50

congrats Boo!! Hope everything went well and you are feeling ok.

Yay for you, Jay... not long now then?!? Also madhide... hope you are back with good news in a few days .

MissMossy has disappeared ... how suspicious are we .

Hope everyone is having a fantabulous Friday.

Mossie · 16/03/2007 14:50

I'm here! I've not gone into labour, I went shopping in Warrington (dh works there so he drove me in, as he was only on a half day) then we had his birthday dinner at a local pub, and now I'm back having had a clary sage bath... grief that stuff smells pungent!

I'm going to catch up with all the many many messages and report back in ten minutes!!!

kiwibella · 16/03/2007 14:55

Mossie... I don't know whether to be delighted or disappointed!! The tension is incredible

TheBlonde · 16/03/2007 14:59

Dolly - hope you feel better soon, thanks for passing on Boo's news

Boo- congrats!

Jay - glad to hear the sweep was fine and you are already dilated a few cm, that's great

I've totally got that Friday Feeling!!

Mossie · 16/03/2007 15:12

Right I've read through everything now I think, although my brain's a bit fuzzy. That clary sage stuff ... well it makes my head feel a bit like I've been on the poppers!

Muppet I finished all my piffins last night!

Mistiek I was going to say good luck for today but you probably already have your baby in your arms. Looking forward to hearing all about it!

Morocco your mw sounds fab, hope you enjoyed your foot massage!

Eids I'm glad to hear everything is all right, it must have been quite a panic for you. Will your dh not keep his mobile on?

Chocolatepenny my mw is the same I have to wash out my old wee sample bottle every time!

Madhide good luck sounds like you're on your way!

Foxy ow ow ow that sounds painful, I hope the stuff the doc gaves you works for you. Maybe the other gp's wife just didn't want him to go near her norks so she told him they were sore... for the next ten years! Although you and Kitty are scaring me a bit now with the horror stories... still better to go into this with my eyes open!!

Piffle sorry to hear it's so off and on it must be frustrating I really hope it kicks off for real soon for you!

Dolly get well soon birth buddy!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Booboo of course! Can't wait to hear how it went, she certainly waited long enough she must be well made up with little Jonny.

Jay glad the sweep went okay and you sound like you're on your way too!

Well I'm off to watch the cricket, although we're not doing so well atm. I bought my big fluffy dressing gown from TK Maxx, it's so cosy I could live in it!

Kiwibella don't be disappointed! Anyway I reckon I'll be the last to pop, I'll probably still be here in April!!!

The Blonde yes Friday feeling here too, and now I moved my driving lesson to Thursdays I get a lie in on Saturday a.m.!

Mossie · 16/03/2007 15:14

OMG just happened to notice the old thread and there is a new message on it from Evenhope!!!

"Hi all. Seen there's a new thread but want to post on the old one! My dear little girl was born on Tuesday at 10.58 by c section weighing 7lb 2oz. DS2 is absolutely smitten and we'd all forgotten how small babies are and how much space they take up!

Despite birth being complete opposite of plans it went very well and staff at hospital were fantastic. Couldn't have wished for a more positive experience. Came home yesterday and getting no sleep as madam sleeps all day and is awake all night."

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS EVENHOPE!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 16/03/2007 15:23

Wow, 2 births
Huge hugs and congrats to Boo and Evenhope, let us know all the details when you can.

Jay and Madhide, sounds like you could both be on your way, fingers crosseed for you

Mossy hope you had a great pub lunch

Dp is being a right mardy , moany pain atm, don't know what's got his goat. Hope he statrts getting 'better' soon, he's getting on my nerves.

I'm knackered but am really hyper at night, can't get off to sleep even though I'm tired, strange.

Piffle have you any more rumblings?
Chocpenny, I'm with you on the show business. What's one of those then?

lucielu · 16/03/2007 15:41

Hi All,
Yonks since I posted but wanted to let you know of our safe arrival of Alfie born on 14th at 7.56pm weighing in at a lovely 9lb 1oz.
Went in at 2.30pm with mildish contractions and measured 7cm dilated!!!! broke my waters and the next 3cm was more painful!!! Held off on the pain relief having had intervention with my other 2 daughters after having epidural, gas and air makes me puke and pethidine makes me trollied! so really gritted my teeth and pushed Alfie out in 16 mins! one minute I thought I'd be pushing all night the next he was flying out, my poor midwife Gary hardly had time to put his gloves on!!! He was an absolute star a fab "manwife". Home next day after lunch. Phew! Alfie is gorgeous, totally in love! Good luck the rest of you still hanging in there! Lucielu xx

Chocolatepenny · 16/03/2007 17:01

Congrats lucielu, Mossie, Boo, Evenhope Have I missed anyone? OMG I have only been away from my comp 5 mins and babies are flying about everywhere!!
I wish I could be as happy, just had the MW from Hell. Haven't had her before and I am glad. She said my EDD was rubblish and I could expect a 2 wk window either way so I had aanother 4 wks, thats not how I calculate it! I argued it should be 2 wks max after EDD then its intervention time. I know for a fact they induce after 1 wk overdue here anyway.
god I am so She wouldn't even let me empty my wee sample down the sink, she said it was dirty, despite the fact all the other MW do it for you usually.
She also got pissed off with me when she was trying to feel the babies head, even though I told her she was hurting me.
Wonder if you can ask not to have a certain MW if she is at the birth.
I think I'd kill her. Why don't people know thats its bad to tell at pregnant woman she will be pregnant forever? She needs a positive attitude, 'Yes you can expect your baby soon' thats what I want to hear.

Chocolatepenny · 16/03/2007 17:03

I've got typo rage too. That probably means another 2 months on my EDD.

Piffle · 16/03/2007 17:13

oooh sympathies it does hurt a bit when they try to feel the baby's head, esp if they are engaged
Mine always apologises.
My midife explained via my dates at my 38 wk appt what they do if you go over EDD, calmly and nicely...

Wonderful news about Evenhope and from LucieLu!
Sounds like Jay and Madhide are next

I'm not discussing my grumblings anymore.
But they're still there same as yesterday.
So that could mean something or same as yesterday NOTHING!

Mossie how dare you go shopping without telling us

Mossie · 16/03/2007 17:15

Chocolatepenny no need to congratulate me yet... unless it was on the success of my cooking or my lovely pub lunch!

Seriously though your mw sounds like a nightmare, I am sure you can say who you do and don't want at the birth.

Lucielu congratulations!

Kitty hope your dp stops being mardy soon, what's got his goat?

Mossie · 16/03/2007 17:16

X posts lol sorry Piffle I consider my wrist well and truely slapped and I won't go shopping without permission again !!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 16/03/2007 17:44

Well done lucielu!!!!

Mossy, perhaps I should bleat when he walks past . He's got a downer on eveything. Of course he denies anything is wrong. It'll all be in my head then.

Chocpenny the midwife sounds like a proper old moo. Take no notice. And yes you can ask for a different midwife if you don't 'get on' with a particular one.

LaidbackinEngland · 16/03/2007 18:46

Well done lucielu and evenhope. Babies galore !

Apparently "a midwife" will be visiting me at home sometime on Monday - couldn't be more specific about time ... so am expected to hang about all day I thought I had the midwife from hell last time... no kids, very abrupt, not touchy feely at all, but actually, when DS2 got stuck , she was technically excellent and got him out using the mcroberts manouevre (sp ?) - It was almost good that she wasn't emotional IYKWIM.

Kitty - hope DP cheers up, tether hinm up in the garden otherwise

1973magpie · 16/03/2007 19:01

Congratulations Booboo and Lucielu, and welcome to the new lo's, hope all went well for you both

Jaysecond · 16/03/2007 19:10

HUH after all the excitment i had this afternoon, i had a show about an hour ago, dont know if its a proper shos or if its a result of the sweep, but my BH have eased considerably and i feel like its all stopped, hmmmmm, this labour thing is a pain in the ass..
