Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

Hi everyone, congratulations to all the new mums out there. We're doing ok, hoping to have Jessica home from special care in the next week or so. Eids - I can't believe that your CS date is the same as mine was supposed to be! I'll think of you as I drive past the RBWH next Friday. Huge good luck to all the rest of the mums to be.

muppethasakitten · 17/03/2007 12:08

Oh bums Jay ... still... better to be at home for the next couple of centimetres.

If it's any consolation - my mw said that often the longer you take building up with the first 5 cm the quicker the latter 5 cm go. No idea if that's true or not but i can think of a few friends of mine where that has certainly been the case.

However you look at it you are completely on your way now... won't be too long - infact could be very soon!

Why don't you borrow piffle's lawnmower?

divastrop · 17/03/2007 12:18

jay-dont worry, you will probably find things suddenly start going really fast soon.3cm with your 2nd is good progress.

i asked the mw if i was dilated after i'd had some mild contractions after the first prostin and she said she could stretch my cervix to 4-5 cm but that was only cos i'd had loads of babies and didnt really mean anythingnice.

kitty-i have the travel cot set up in the computer room for dd2.i had a playpen for ds1 when dd1 was tiny,i wouldnt have been able to even go to the loo if it werent for that.ds2 is fine with the baby, though,he's learnt his lesson after being nasty to dd2 when she was little

mossy-paddy's day...it was paddys day in that dream i had where you, rosy and i were in the pub,but you had also had your baby.maybe he'll be born on his dad's birthday!
i could drink alcohol technically, but id be scared it'd knock me out and i wouldnt wake up for night feeds.

rosy-glad to hear you had a good birth experience.i agree with you about the g=a,its great stuff.my dp fell asleep after i had the baby,as though he'd done all the hard work!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 17/03/2007 13:34

Something feels a bit different with me today. I have back ache, quite alot of bh's, feel heavy down below. I am also burping like buggery and it's driving me INSANE. Heartburn is awful. The shit stuuf they've given me on precription is absolutely USLESS so I'm gooing to have to go out and BUY some very heavy duty gaviscon which is very annoying indees. Moan. moan.
Hope you've made some progress Jay

Hope evryone is having a decent day.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 17/03/2007 13:35

ohh, typo queen today!!!

divastrop · 17/03/2007 16:07

kitty, maybe your baby is going to fall out today

i want everyone to have their babies so we can all be on the same thread all the time again.somehow, watching about 15 threads seemed easy before i had the baby

Mossie · 17/03/2007 16:07

Jay good luck probably is better to be in the comfort of your own home in these earlier stages...

Foxy I didn't see Comic Relief I was watching the cricket most of the afternoon / early evening and then I was all tellied out, what was DT up to?

Flannelettepj's hope you get Jessica home soon bet you can't wait!

Diva that's right I remember! Still, I doubt he will make an appearance today I haven't had any sign of anything at all up 'til now. More likely to be on my birthday (4 April)!!

Kitty can they not prescribe you some more effective indigestion stuff, so you can get it free? Seems so annoying to have to pay for it! I hope you're feeling a bit better soon!

Dh is very tired ( Not sure what has made him so tired it's not like he's pg! ) and has crashed on the couch to get a sleep in in time for our takeaway!! So I may take the opportunity to have a little nap myself!

DollyPopsOut · 17/03/2007 17:54

Sorry for your poorliness Kitty. Have you had any of your others early? could this be a sign? I felt a bit queasy this pm but I think that was to do with the amount I had eaten to be honest! Can@t seem to stop at the moment.

Foxy, sorry for your sore boobs. Hope you get better soon. I'll text you booboo's no in a minute.

Hello Jay, hope you are having some action.

Any more movement for you, Piffle?

Mossy, I thkn 4th April is an excellent day to be born. DD thinks so too. I was a bit worried that both my girls would end up with the same birthday but that won't happen as the CS is monday. (the day after tomorrow - where did that time go?)

Hope everyone else is well today. I have unpacked some boxes of CDs, but still not done a hospital bag for me or the baby. Do you think I am in denial? Went to Brixton this am to get DD her dolly from the baby and was having some very strange feelings in my groin as I walked round woolies. I really should sort things out this end, shouldn't I, as it would be a bit pants to have nothing done and have to make an emergecy dash without so much as clean pants......

Back later. Take care everyone and rest well.

Jaysecond · 17/03/2007 18:34

BOOHOO, am still here, still having about mins between contractions, but for the past hr they have been getting more intense and i am feeling more pain and pressure. How long should this bit last for? I am guessing i am still in the first stage but have been like this since 3 this morning, id have thought things woukld have moved along by now, should i be speaking to the hospital or just carry on here till they (contractions) become more frequent? I am getting a bit fraustrated at the mo!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 17/03/2007 18:37

Dolly, good that you can actually walk anywhere .
I shuffle very very slowly now. My hips are all coming out of position and the spd is a bit dodgy but not too bad, if I'm careful. I still have the same niggles as earlier. I'm sure he won't arrive early, none of the others have. However, I am pleased that I am finally starting to have niggles .
Are you really going for your section this Monday Dolly?

Mossy what are you having for dinner?
We've all just had some yummy fish and chips. Now dp is trying (again) to teach ds1 how to sweep the kitchen floor. Ds1 is a bit crap at this and dp is getting angry with him.

Dp seems to have come out of his strange moody now which is a relief.

muppethasakitten · 17/03/2007 18:44

How many minutes apart are the contractions Jay?

Just be aware that you can suddenly do the last 5 cm a hell of a lot quicker than the first... still you did say you were only 5 mins from hospital so hopefully you shouldn't get caught out.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 17/03/2007 18:45

Jay do the contractions make you stop and concentrate or can you carry on through them? If the latter I would stay at home until they start getting strong enough to make you stop and do 'breathing' .

Try not to get too frustrated sweetie, they ARE doing something. When I was in labour with dd1 (child no 3) I had contractions from about 1 am one morning, and all through the next day. They got slowly stronger and were reeasonabley frequent. Then at midnight they stopped completely and I was gutted. An hour later it all went mental and she was born shortly after. I guess I'm trying to say that labour doesn't have to follow a set pattern. It's far better that you stay at home where you will be more relaxed and comfortable and can have distractions that you won't have at the hospital. It won't be long now

DollyPopsOut · 17/03/2007 18:56

Hang on in there Jay, you'll have your baby before you know it. thinking of you XXXX

Kitty, I am really having my section on monday - got to be there at 8am in my TEDs ready for the off. I am scared about it if I think about it, so I am thinking about other things. Hence no bag. Perhaps I should go and do that now.

Or I could just go onto the sofa and read the paper.

See you later

Jaysecond · 17/03/2007 19:13

the contractions are every 8 ish minutes and have started to last roughly a minute. The last four/five have taken my breath away and i do have to concentrate on breathing through them. I am going to have something to eat then a bath and then see how i am doing!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 17/03/2007 19:39

Sounds like a good idea Jay, keep us posted.

I'm going to have more wine tonght. I had some last night and slept really well, no hot flushes or heartburn. I suppose the preg police would shoot me for that. What relaxes me, relaxes baby right?

Jaysecond · 17/03/2007 20:34

indeed kitty!!

contractions now about 76-7 mins lasting over a min.....might have to think about visiting the hospital again!

TheBlonde · 17/03/2007 20:54

Jay - Good luck

Kitty - enjoy your wine

I am off to bed shortly, had an early night last night and felt much better for it
Got some reflexology booked for tomorrow in the hope of encouraging this baby to get moving

Piffle · 17/03/2007 21:09

jay good luck sounds like it is building up nice and slowly for you, bet it all kicks off suddenly after your bath
Hope tonight goes well for you and there is a baby ASAP!

kitty, aaah rumblings

Well sod all news from me, have overdosed on rugby, baked two lovely slices today, most of which I've also eaten

DS 13 is really ill with sinusitus poor sos, so I've been tending him as well. Not like him he is quite a robust lad, all 5ft 3 and 7 stone of him

DP started nesting today
got the old car seats out of the garage, stripped them down and handwashed all the bits... Not sure what to think.

Having lots of contractions when I stand or walk. Not so many when I sit and virtually nil when I lay down.

another night down tonight though, one day closer to whenever it is...

Have had half a lager tonight so feel vaguely adult. Am off to watch rubbish Sat night tv and vote for Eurovision entries

eidsvold · 17/03/2007 21:12

Jay - might be news soon.

Dolly - all the best for tomorrow.

I have managed to get my bags packed - sorted everything out yesterday.

We are hoping to take the dds swimming and then out to breakfast today - a last outing before no3 and those things are not so easy in the first instance.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 17/03/2007 22:10

I am practising trying to 'welcome' the contractions instead of feeling the 'oh sh*t' that I usually feel. However, I'm sure this is easier to do after a couple of glasses of wine and not being in any pain
Did anyone watch the Eurovision songs? Weird!!

Hope things are going well for you Jay

muppethasakitten · 17/03/2007 22:22

Really worried about Diva ladies... she just posted on the post natal thread that her dp has left...
don't know if she means he's buggered off completely but she's appeared down since having Elsie... does anyone know how to contact her?

Noodlekitty · 17/03/2007 22:55

Hello ladies,

I was on the March thread months ago, my work stopped internet access though, so I got out of the way of posting...probably silly to start at this late stage in the game again! Noticed I was still on the list of babies due though, so thought I'd give it a go and see if anyone would mind if I joined in again!

Huge congrats to everyone who has had their babies...you lucky people!

Well, I was due on the 12th, but am still hanging around playing the waiting game. Would be climbing the walls if the SPD wasn't so bad! My hospital only leaves you 10 days before inducing, so hopefully one way or another I'll have a baby by next weekend...no signs of anything happening yet though...not so much as a twinge!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 18/03/2007 06:57

Oh no Muppet i've got her mobile number. I'll phone today

Welcome back noddlekitty . We've had a few come back and join during the past couple of weeks or so. We all need the support now don't we??

rosylonginglily · 18/03/2007 07:02

Big tall scottish Noodlekitty! I'm delighted you came back on, was wondering how you were doing!

Jay you have probably popped by now, I look forward to hearing all about it.

I haven't made it to the postnatal thread yet....
