Jaysecond · 15/03/2007 22:51

magpie, hope DD is ok, and you dont all get the dreaded lurgy!

Off to get some sleep now spk later xx

Chocolatepenny · 16/03/2007 07:58

Mistiek, Goodluck,.. your not my birth buddy anymore but sure I won't be on my due date anyway.
Feeling all periody this morning my MW said its a sign of advancing labour. Hope so although I keep think I'm not ready for a baby yet.
Good Labour vibes to everybody today. Looks like another spring delight.
Piffle get that baby moving this weekend
morocco , I love the sound of your foot massaging MW .Mine keeps giving me the same pot back to pee in saying the NHS can't support a pot eaach time!

foxcub · 16/03/2007 09:34

oh here you all are!

madhide · 16/03/2007 09:41

Thanks Jay think I will give them a call this morning to check they have the form but I have opted for the monthly payment so based on your payments I probably wont get anything until 5th April.

Had a show this morning and having quite a lot of BH's and backpain again wonder if things are happening?!

Well parents aren't going to meet the new arrival before they go on hols they are off at 6pm today and away in India for 2 weeks!

Have a good day all - Thinking of you Mistiek

foxcub · 16/03/2007 09:53

Piffle - ooh that's exciting, you may well be the next to POP!!

Kitty - PMSL at you as the Vicar of Dibley!!

Mossy - I felt sick as I went into labour with DS1 and with DS2 (last week!) I spent much of the labour leaning over a sick bowl although didn't actually vomit in the end.

Mistiek - good luck for tomorrow - hope it all goes well and you are holding your baby by the afternoon!!!

Anyone got Boos e-mail adress or mobi number so I can send my birthbuddy a message?

If so, I'll put my mobile number up so you can text it. (Dolly?)

Did I say I had mastitis, just as I was getting smug about Monti's feeds settling into a routine...

Defo infected so I had to get antibiotics yesterday. My problem is that SBs always give me breast thrush, which is 1,000 worse than mastitis believe me (imgaine broken glass paasing through nipple when you feed). But my obliging GP has prescribed me antifungals unlicensed as yet in UK (bless her) recommended by the BF Network, so hopefully I'll avoid the thrush this time (has it 4 times with DS1 ).

Monti has been an angel though and is alseep in the other room - the same room where my npants are in the drawer, so sitting here with no pants as am too scared to go in, in case I waken him LOL!

foxcub · 16/03/2007 09:55

am typo queen tofday!!

eidsvold · 16/03/2007 10:06

foxy i had thrush a couple of times when breastfeeding dd2 - so can sympathise - why not try some daktarin gel - just put it on your breasts after each feed then no need to wipe it off... also stops monti getting thrush too.

foxcub · 16/03/2007 10:21

Eids - thanx - I just did a search on BF thrush and saw you on several old threads!

GP prescribed me the Flu...stuff (sp?) in tablets, plus daktarin cream for me and nystatin drops for Monti. I am trying to prevent the thrush occuring. I think I'll buy some gel over the counter and use that though, as you suggests, so I don't have to wash it off.

Pray for me I don't get breast thrush! [looks desperate and runs off to apply cream to nips...]

TheBlonde · 16/03/2007 10:25

Hi everyone

No labour signs here although I did dream that I had a show!

Fox - will be praying for you. Thrush is awful

eidsvold · 16/03/2007 10:26

yeh - my Gp prescribed the drops for dd2 but she was not sure if they were still available and she said basically that the daktarin oral gel was just as good.

I tell you - I had no idea what it was when I first got it..... but then saw the lumpy white tongue of dd2 so took her to the GP - to discover it was thrush - you are so right about the cut glass - my toes used to curl when dd2 latched on.

I found that the daktarin gel was also good at preventing it - when I felt tingle next and knew it would develop just got straight onto the gel.

1973magpie · 16/03/2007 10:35

Morning All, every day there seems to be less and less posters, and I keep getting excited about possible new arrivals .

Hope you are all keeping well, well as well as possible during the long wait (sorry, a few too many 'wells' there I think!!).

Jay - luckily (for us not DD1) it seems to have been something that she ate yesterday , she was only sick twice then went to sleep, and was ok enough to want to go to school today (she didn't want to miss the Red Nose Day fun )

Foxy - I hope the mastitis clears up soon and that you avoid getting thrush, I have heard that it is awful, but at least your GP seems fairly progressive thinking (I have read threads on here where GPs have denied the existence of breast thrush )

foxcub · 16/03/2007 10:36

Eids, I had it 4 times with DS1 (each time after ABs prescribed for mastitis) and the first time I had it for three weeks before I found out what it was (BF counsellor suggested I might have thrush). My God, the pain was terrible.

I started ABs yesterday and took 150mg of the the fluc...anti fungal stuff (also known as Canesten, over the counter), I felt a tingle in my nips today though, when the cold air hit them, so am an my guard and have just put some Daktarin cream on.

I have another problem now, which is that infected breast is hardly producing nay milk, so may start athread on this to ask for tips on how to "re-lactate" it. Right breast has increased its supply, so Monti is still happy and fed

foxcub · 16/03/2007 10:39

Magpie - well I hope your DD1 stays well today!

I went to a GP once with thrush and he hissed as me "there is NO SUCH THING", when I persisted he said "BF is supposed to hurt, my wife said it hurt!"

Imagine being married to that!!

Piffle · 16/03/2007 11:02

Morning all
Ahhh dd packed off to pre school today and mighty happy she was to get back to her friends.
I'm feeling nauseous and tiredy today and very crampy.

Am totally convinced I am nowhere near going into labour, these contractiosna re just tkaing the mickey. Was up to 2am leaning over the sink with a doozy that woke me up, then NOTHINg else. Ahh well at least I got some sleep.
So am ignoring them - not timing them or paying them any heed today.

Am off for a lie down though as feel poorly.

Sorry to hear about mastitis and thrush, I had mastitis with ds and got an abscess OW

Madhide sounds like you're close Yipppeee

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 16/03/2007 11:10

Foxy, I had breast thrush with ds1 and he had it in his mouth. I had mastitis with dd1 had ab's but no thrush. I think I've got some daktarin stuff knocking about somewhere!! They say that you are supposed to keep feeding from the infected side to encourage milk supply which makes sense. Does it feel like it's healing now? Gosh I had forgotton these possible post birth pleasures. Right back oif to bed with my stash of crappy mags. Cosmo will no doubt tell me how to improve my already fantasic sex life

LaidbackinEngland · 16/03/2007 11:15

Hope all those with sore boobs/nips etc get some improvement soon.... it does get better if I remember correctly !

Well I am now 5 days overdue... no real signs or twinges in sight. I am not sure when they start "offering" inductions in my area... but I will be keeping a low profile for a while...

Phoned up to get some pregnancy inducing acupuncture earlier and am waiting for a call back. Been having fairly regular sex - but that doesn't seem to be getting things going either. Oh well. Babe is obviously happy where he is

madhide · 16/03/2007 12:08

Think I am am in the zone contractions coming every few mins am off to have a bath

Good luck to you all if I dont post for a few days

xxx

Chocolatepenny · 16/03/2007 12:29

LaidbackinEngland · 16/03/2007 12:38

DollyPopsOut · 16/03/2007 12:53

Hello all

First of all, fantastic news from Booboo - she had Jonny at 3.21am this morning. He weighs 6lb 4 oz and looks lovely in his photo! I don't have any more details but hope she will be home safely soon and can fill us all in. Foxy, if you let me have your no I'll text you her no.

Not feeling very well today - very coldy and tired. DD didn't sleep well and it being an utter pain today. Well, she is probably being normal but I am reacting badly as I am tired and poorly. SHe is currently thumping around in her cot, so I am going to get my head down for a few minutes. I'll try to catch up properly with you all later. Hope you are having a good day XXXXX

Piffle · 16/03/2007 13:08

madhide, hope the bath gets things going as opposed to me where it stops things totally

Wonderful news about Booboo, am so pleased she finally has her little guy OUT!

Hope Sazzy is ok and that Mistiek has her little lass as well - Paige I think she is going for?

Another ermmmm "clearout" in effect here, horrid tummy cramps
Knowing my luck not a sign of imminent labour, but a tummy bug.

I'm going to be philosophical about things now and not presume anything...

Piffle · 16/03/2007 14:13

ok one more question
Where is Mossie today?
Huh?

LaidbackinEngland · 16/03/2007 14:26

Hooray Boo - Hope Jonny is as wonderful as you hoped. Look forward to hearing how things went !

I'm off into town to buy stuff for DS1's sleepover. Roll on him being tired and grumpy all weekend !

Yes, where is mossy ?

Jaysecond · 16/03/2007 14:37

ahhh congrats to BOO!!! great news, cant wait to hear all the details and see the little fellow!

Madhide, hope this is well and truely it for you, sending all the contractual vibes to you!
thinking oof sazzy and Misteik also

Dolly hope you are feeling better soon, its horrid when you feel pants

Fox sorry to hear about your troubles, hopefully it wont get to bad and you can 'treat' it before it worsens. (((hugs to you)))

Theblonde, at least your dreams are positive. Thats what you need, positive vibes!

Well i had the MW round earlier and she performed the 'deed' it was actually fine. Not half as bad as i thought it might have been. Not uncomfortable or sore or 'rummegy' MW said that my cervix was really soft and favourable and i was between 2-3 cms dilated already!! I explained the discharge i had been having and she is sure that i have been having a slow release show........ since shes gone i have been having cramping and pains in lower tummy and back, and BH that i think are too strong to be BH.... like every 10 -15 mins... i am not saying i am in labour but it certainly feels like i am on the way now!! MW reckons he shoudl be here this weekend at the latest, but has booked an induction for Wed. I told her i didnt want to be induced , not untill at least two weeks over my due date, so i have to spk with the consultant on Monday (if i am stil here) he can then say if i can wait till next Fridayy. sigh, lots of things to take in!

Am off for a nap, and then going to make some fod for DD and freeze it. Spk shortly
