Hello everyone..hope you're all ok.

J20 i had terrible itching prioblems and my legs swelled up when pg with DS at around 12 weeks...i ended up in hospital as they didnt know what it was. Turned out to be something called PUPP which basically means you are allergic to being pregnant!! They think it may be caused by the babys cells reacting with your skin. you can google it under PUP or PUPP

I had it v. badly and it is unusual to get it so early as it normally occurs later in pg. I was prescribed piriton (the old type not the 1-a-day type) + steroid creams to help ease the itching...see your doc though. The piriton helped the itching which was driving me nuts.

Apparently some research shows that if you do get it then tis a 2-1 chance you are having a boy.

Hope everyoneelse ok...Hello MrsMc good luck with TTC.

I have a nuchal fold scan on 31 st March so just keeping everything crossed til then.

i would say the floating poo is almost guaranteed to happen kittiwake, if you have a waterbirth. i had gastroenteritis for 2 days before giving birth last time (not much fun!) actually i think that is what kick started my labour. but my point is i hadn't eaten ANYTHING for 2 days and i had been vomiting and pooing for england and i STILL managed to get timy floating bits of poo in the birthing pool with me! i dread to think what it would have been like if i had eaten normally beforehand!!!!!!!

TMI? i wonder?

Afternoon,
I remember when I was pG with dS and we were shown around the birthing centre and the birthing pool... and the midwife said, "don't forget to bring a sieve with you!" I was quite shocked .

I'm afraid that pooing in labour is something you just have to not think too much about! Not nice, but pretty common! And you probably won't even notice .

I'm hopefully going for a home birth if all is ok... I really hate hospitals, and when the midwife tells you after giving birth and you want a wash..."have a shower, i wouldnt have a bath if i were you... not clean enough", well, not nice. When my DP and DS came to get me and DD, DS was playing on the floor with his new train (pressie from DD), and a nurse told him to get up as the floor wasnt clean enough...

Afternoon all,

at the conversation on here today!

greedy - you have such an eloquent way with words!

J20 - yuck!

kitti - at least, with a waterbirth you know who the poo belongs to ....

(sorry, made myself sick there - change the subject now I think!)

MrsMc - lovely to see you popping in - hoping to hear good news from you soon ...

lissie - lovely to see you too - hope you're recovery is going well ....

MrsFish - it's a truly horrible way to find out you've had a mc - I'd had a mc in the previous pg, but it was early (6 weeks) - I naively thought by the time I got to my dating scan last time that I was home and dry ... I grieve for that naivety. Let's hope it's good news for all of us this time around.

Mumpbump - is there any pattern at all to ds's sleeping problems? I ask as my ds was a nightmare between about 18 months and 3 yrs old ... I was up with him up to 5 times a night for up to 2 hours a time - it's absolutely soul destroying ... it got to the stage that I broke a bone in my foot getting out of bed to him one night, as I wasn't awake enough ... and he broke one of my ribs when protesting about going to bed one night ... now? he's lovely and it's all sorted, but during the nightmare time, we were stuck in a spiral, and didn't know what to do.

Mumpbump · 20/03/2007 14:58

ejt - I haven't really been paying much attention, but will start checking the time to see if there is a pattern. I think it might be nightmares as he doesn't seem to be awake, but just seems to need some physical reassurance to settle him. Will report back!

Mumpbump · 20/03/2007 17:31

hi ladies,

Just wanted to hijack to wish you all the best of luck, I'm an Oct 2006 mum. LO is now nearly 6 months, it's a rough ride at first but they're so lovely, it's such an exciting time you have ahead of you. For 1st timers, some words of reassurance, I am really, and I mean really, a big wuss and hate pain, even the dentist, and I managed ok with the birth despite 3 days of labour and non-working epidural.. I can barely even remember it and keen to TTC number 2!

So best of luck and enjoy your pregs!

I have to say that after weeks of complaining that ive got no pg symptoms, i now have lots...

  • feel sick 24/7 and its worse in the evening. Its kind of like travel sickness.
  • i am so tired. In bed by 8.30pm
  • my boobs have grown even bigger and the blue veins make them look like a street map.
  • ive got a discusting taste in my mouth that i just can not get rid of no matter how many times a day i brush my teeth.
  • restlss sleeping and very weird dreams (many naughty dreams too )
  • and the last one. Having to pee every 30 mins.

Its my own fault for wishing that i had some symptoms but now ive got too many. Although they are reassuring for me.

fifitheflowertotslayer · 20/03/2007 18:19

hi missnatalie!!

im the smae,i complained about my non existant symptoms, then got tehm all at once!!!

also knackered all teh time, feeling sick constantly, and peeing for britain!

the sickness i found, eases off if i eat,its hard eating when you feel sick, but get a biscuit or something.

also got ginormous knockers with a street map on top!!!

oh the joys of pregnancy!!!

greedyforbabies · 20/03/2007 18:34

so 3 of us having scans tomorrow then, good luck girlies...........why aren't i nervous? i really feel like i should be cos i have had a strange start to this pg with lots of bleeding and spotting, but for some strange reason i am very calm about it.

i am sure it will hit me tomorrow and i will become a nervous, jittery wreck at about 1.45pm!!!

Pebblemum · 20/03/2007 19:36
