my scan was FAB! little one was jumping around and poking his tongue in and out and opening and closing his mouth! it was lovely!
we told my ds about the baby after the scan and his first question was " how did the baby get in your tummy?" and then he said " i didn't see daddy put the seed in, when did he do that? did he have to cut your tummy open?" i KNEW he would ask difficult questions as soon as we told him!!!

how were yours mumpy and fifi?

WinnieThePooh · 21/03/2007 17:08

Glad your scan went well Greedy.

Here's hoping for more good news from the others that had scans today.

I am getting really excited now about mine on Monday, I hope it goes as well as yours did today.

KezzaG · 21/03/2007 17:11

oh greedy that lovely, I have been watching this thread all afternoon. LOL at your ds, you are going to have to be quite inventive over the next few months.

ejt1764 · 21/03/2007 17:26

fab news greedy ... here's to the rest of your pg being happy an worry free.

I've been like a woman possessed today. Combination of circumstances - I'm dreading my scan tomorrow - I just can't imagine a happy outcome - every time I try to do that, I tell myself to stop getting my hopes up.

OP posts:
greedyforbabies · 21/03/2007 17:37

ejt - thats not good. try not to worry. what is the point in worrying hey? it wont change anything if you worry will it? the scan will be the same whatever. if only it was as easy as that hey? easy for me to say now i've had mine i know, but really just try and block it from your mind. as soon as you start thinking scan..............think spam instead, or potatoes, or cockroaches, or cockroaches eating a feast of spam and potatoes! ANYTHING! but dont think about the scan, it will only worry you!
good luck though!

KezzaG · 21/03/2007 17:39

ejt I feel the same as you. I am making all kinds of silly deals with myself...if I get this peice of work done today all will be ok, stuff like that. What time is your scan tomorow, so you have a long wait tomorrow?

greedyforbabies · 21/03/2007 17:44

sorry, just reread my last post. i realise how crap it sounded, sorry

ejt1764 · 21/03/2007 17:46

Scan is at 1.45pm tomorrow.

Also compounded by this - the insensitivity of this woman is incredible. Last year when I had the 1st mc, she tried to get me on the disciplinary route for being off ... she's not known for her tact and understanding, and seems to have no notion of timing (she knows my scan is tomorrow too)

And, to cap it all, had to go and fetch ds from childminder - her little girl had been sick, and she didn't want ds coming down with whatever bug she's got. Poor ds has had a very boring afternoon with his puking mother!

Never mind - in 24 hours, it'll all be over.

Good luck to you to Kezza.

greedy - not to worry - it made me smile (then heave!!)

Have a good celebration tonight!

KezzaG · 21/03/2007 17:51

greedy your post wasnt crap. It reminded me of Paul McKenna telling people to think of horrible food covered in hair and maggots when they wanted chocolate (sorry ejt, is that you I can hear heaving from here)

ejt, best of luck tomorrow. That work situation sounds horrible, some people have no idea how to be sensitive do they. Easier said than done but you just need to do what is best for you, and Im sure you have everyone elses support. Maybe she is just stressing about your cover and not handling it well, but that is her problem really.

J20BABY · 21/03/2007 19:41

Poor you ejt, don't let her bully you or let it get you down, the best of luck for tomorrow xxx

J20BABY · 21/03/2007 19:45

sorry greedy meant to say, glad everything was good

well i tried them sickness pressure bands this morning but when i got back from the school run i started washing up, and they where quite tight so took them off, and then proceeded to vomit in the sink!
better not do no more housework

ejt1764 · 21/03/2007 19:50

Thanks J20 - and I think the 'no housework' solution is a fine one!!

Kezza - let's just say: - I know it's meant to be envy, but that's the colour my face has been!

Morning everyone! We had a good scan yesterday and saw the baby waving its arms and legs and jumping around generally. SOOOO relieved... Pleased to hear your news Greedy - anyone heard from Fifi yet?? Let's all hope for a hat trick!!

Good luck Ejt for today. Hope you will also have positive news to report!!

Kittiwake · 22/03/2007 09:32

Morning everyone

Glad everthing went so well Greedy hope that it's good news for mumpbump and Fifi too.

Sounds like everyone else if feeling bad too. This week has definitely been the worst for MS for me. I phoned in sick today, had loads of appts and had to do lots of driving around. I'm a social worker and have to be cheery and helpful, really just couldn't face it feeling like this. How is everyone else coping with work and managing other little ones?

Kittiwake · 22/03/2007 09:33

Cross post well done Mumpbump!

J20BABY · 22/03/2007 09:43

Congrats mumpbump and the best of luck to you ejt.

kittiwake, i thought it should be easing of by now and we should be blooming but i've had quite bad ms this week and a crappy headache since sun that even co-codomol wont shift, still been at work, but i'm only part time anyway and just about managing to cope with dd, although tea has been the quickest thing i can do, like pizza made out of slices of bread

KezzaG · 22/03/2007 09:54

Well done Mumpbump, thats really good news. hope no news is good news from fifi.

Good luck today ejt.

I have to say the last 2 weeks have been fine for me in terms if sickness, but my boobs have been really sore and my section scar has started to ache a bit which worries me.

hope you all start to feel a bit better soon.

greedyforbabies · 22/03/2007 09:54

my MS has definately been at its worse this week too. i think it is supposed to peak around 12 wks when hormaone levels are at their highest and then start easing off! lets hope so anyway, i can't physically eat much more to keep it at bay!!!

anyone else in maternity clothes already? i have just got them down from the attic and will be wearing them in the next few days!

greedyforbabies · 22/03/2007 09:55

mumpbump - fab news! did you cry? i did!!!

KezzaG · 22/03/2007 09:56

Im wearing a maternity wrap dress now actually, it is so comfortable. Trouble is my boobs have got so big my cleavage is distracting my (female) colleague! She asked me to put a tissue down my front like a napkin yesterday so she could concentrate on her work She was joking of course, and knows I am pg.

Mumpbump · 22/03/2007 09:58

Greedy - I didn't cry 'cos my dad was there. Welled up a bit, but managed to control it. I think if dh had been there, I would have been in tears in the waiting room and the scan room, just like last time, but having someone slightly removed from it helped me to keep myself together.

Kezza - I've already gone up a cup size to 34E and don't remember doing that this early last time. Still, dh is happy!!
