Hi asur - welcome to the october thread - we are a chatty lot (lot of it's down to me )

I've always been pg when showing in the summer ... I don't like buying summer clothes anyway - not very good with summer colours (have odd colouring, pale-ish skin (which turns yellow when tanned), green eyes and brown hair ... I'm painting a very attractive picture of myself aren't I! Give me black tshirts and linen trousers and that just about sums up what I wear throughout the summer ...

Hello HelloMama - my due date is also 17 October. This is my first post (and first pregnancy) and I'm looking forward to chatting with you all if you don't mind. I'm living in Rome and already dreading the summer heat - I get hot enough already and my bump isn't even big yet! Morning sickness has returned with a vengeance which seems a bit peculiar as I'm 14 weeks today and thought it might have gone by now? At least I know something's still cooking in there I suppose...

buffythenappyslayer21 · 18/04/2007 16:21

maisy im on thyroxine, have been for about 9 and abit years now.gp told me id be infertile,am on baby number 3 since then!!silly man!!

what dose are you on?im currently on 125mcg day,but when was pg last time they put me up to 275mcg,and i ended up losing 3 stone whilst pg!good for me but not for the baby,so make sure they atke your blood at regular intervals, mine was checked at the beginning of pregnancy and again at 20wks,wasnt checked after that and ended up losing weight.

WinnieThePooh · 18/04/2007 17:40

Welcome to Tallis & Asur, don't forget to add your details to the stats thread

Greedy, I have actually stayed avout the same weight at the moment and have not got a bump as yet. I am 15 weeks 3 days now, hopefully the bump will show soon.

MrsFish · 18/04/2007 18:18

I have put on 9 pound so far and will be 17 weeks on sunday. Read something yesterday on one of the pregnancy sites though and it said at 18 weeks most women could expect to have put on between 10 and 15 pound so I am happy with what I have put on so far

gemmamc · 18/04/2007 18:34

I am not so sure because I wasn't weighing myself regularly before I got pregnant....but I think around 8-9 pounds...

I think it's a bit more than it should be at 13 weeks, but there you go. It was probably all those the ginger biscuits and bread I ate to get rid of ms that did it!!

Kittiwake · 18/04/2007 18:47

Hi all

I haven't put any on either but I was no Skinny minny to start with! Actually do feel a bit worried about it hope everything is okay in there, MS and tiredness has gone now too and I am feeling really good

HelloMama · 18/04/2007 18:56

hey Tallis - welcome to MN and thanks for being my due date buddy! I was pregnant over the summer last time, although DS was born at the end of July - on perhaps the hottest day of the year in 2004! My advice is wear lots of loose floaty clothing and birkenstock sandals all the way! I literally couldn't fit into any other shoes! That is my main pregnancy recommendation!

jersey · 18/04/2007 19:00

HI just to let you know had scan today, everything ok, bouncy baby. But, told I am 16 weeks and now due 4th october!!!!

MrsFish · 18/04/2007 19:11

Congrats

Pheebe · 18/04/2007 19:27

Congratulations jersey, great news.

Continuing the weight convo amazingly I haven't put anything at all on in the last 6 weeks (almost 13 weeks now). Very pleased as I already have a 'high' BMI despite losing loads of weight last summer after being really poorly with gallstones and having my gallbladder removed (10 day crash diet with no solid food at all, not to be recommended). Amazing really as Easter was a disaster and I ended up with tooo many irresistable chocolate goodies !

Going shopping for mat clothes this wkend hopefully with SIL (she's just 20 weeks)as my bump is emerging already!

J20BABY · 18/04/2007 19:50

brill jersey, your due the day after me.

don't know about weight i think i've put a few pounds on and definately got a bump!

feeling really tired the last couple of days, need to take more iron tablets apparantly, as if it isn't hard enough to go to the loo already!

also feel very hot and grumpy one min then freezing the next, still grumpy when cold though

welcome to the newbies

WinnieThePooh · 18/04/2007 20:01

Fab news Jersey.

Anyone else get sore nipples when chilly, or is is just me?

honeyapple · 18/04/2007 20:19

Evening!
I have a definite bump... and only 13 wks...yikes, but I'm putting it down to being No.3 and my womb and tummy muscles have just given up . Not sure about weight gain as don't have any scales in the house. I did weigh myself a week or so ago at MIL's house... but not sure what I was before being PG... estimate weight gain at about 7 lbs (is that 1/2 a stone??).

Told some more people about being PG- ie people not related to me/ or close friends. Infact my DD told one of the ladies at her playgroup! She was doing some sticking and cutting out pictures of baby toys from a magazine... lady asked her about it... and she said it was for her baby... the one in mummy's tummy!!

Congrats Jersey on your scan... do you agree with the 16 wk thing?

Hi to the new pregnant posters .

MrsFish · 18/04/2007 20:57

Winniethepooh - I've got sore nipps full stop

buffythenappyslayer21 · 19/04/2007 08:26

morning all!!bleeding cold here today, whats happened to the lovely warm weather???

havent weighed myself for about 4 weeks now,but upto then i hadnt put any weight on,dreading getting on the scales when see mw in a couple of weeks!i have a high bmi aswell pheebe and have to go for a glucose test at 28 weeks.consultant said its because shes seeing me at 29 weeks to find out if ive decided to have a cs or not (which i have).dont know why she wants a glucose test though tbh,she just said that because i have a high bmi im at risk of getting pregnancy diabetes,im not that sure how that affects the cs,but she said if i have it then i would have to have a cs anyway.anyone know why??i had loads of questions for her,but as usual i forgot to ask!!

had probs breathing during the night again, bloody blocked up nose!!so have decided im not doing anything today,as im knackered!!did 9 wash loads yesterday!my kids juts like changing constantly and bringing clean wahsing down again to be done!so im having a day off!!!

have a great dya everyone!!

greedyforbabies · 19/04/2007 10:28

ok, so nobody else has put on 4 stone already like me then!.................................not really...........it just feels like 4 stone! i think i have put on 5 or 6 lbs but i was already 7lbs over what i like to be cos of xmas! so basically i am a lardarse!

MrsFish · 19/04/2007 11:10

Same here

greedyforbabies · 19/04/2007 12:29

anyone else still getting headaches all the time? dont remember this from my last pgs.

sorry ..............i really am a moany old whingebag today!...........it's cos my morning sickness finally seems to be going! i have to have a new ailment to moan about!

MrsFish · 19/04/2007 12:34

I had about two weeks of constant headaches, but they seem to have eased up a bit now. Heartburn has kicked in in a major way since yesterday though

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/04/2007 13:28

thanks mrsfish! its reassuring to know i haven't got a brain tumour!

gemmamc · 19/04/2007 13:50

I've been getting headaches too...but now they are less frequent (i.e. a couple of times a week and not so bad vs almost every day and pretty bad).

I am now obsessing over the fact I've had a cough for several weeks....starting to check websites about symptoms of thrombosis... . Then again, I don't have the other symptoms they say I should watch out for....so...

I have in any case tried to get an appointment with GP but they are all booked up and I have to leave for a 1 week holiday to Italy tomorrow at 2....so I'll just have to hope it's a cold, which is most likely anyway. And hey, there are doctors in Italy too., if it gets any worse.

Anybody else having an ongoing cold or coughing, so I feel less concerned? I heard a friend's husband has had something similar, so maybe it's the aftermath of those awful colds we all had a few weeks ago?

Guess I'll just try to focus on my holiday then.

Pheebe · 19/04/2007 14:43

Hi All
Apologies in advance as I need to have a moan. Feeling really down and upset and tearful today as I've jsut discovered my mw has resigned, nobody told me, it took an hour to find our who the new mw was.

the reason i needed to talk to her was i thought the original mw had booked me a nfold scan, turned out she hadn't and they don't do em routinely anyway. fair enough, don't mind paying for it. was then told new mw had to book it so waited all morning for her to ring back as her mobile was off she only responded when I paged her. turns out i have to book it myself. which i;ve now done for next week.

i just feel really let down, ignored, unimportant, stupid for getting upset and scared of what the test might show...genrally c**p!

Taking DS swiming now to try and take my mind of it. Hope you guys are having better lcuk with your mw service
