5th thread!

Going by the pace of ‘Thread #4’, this could the last one as we might all have our babies by the time it runs out. Unless we all give detailed commentary during labour Grin.

Me too spindelina Sad I've actually had a week of ok sleep before last night so can't complain too much but took me ages to get to sleep last night then I woke up at 3! Angry

I still have a painful dry nose with blood which is driving me mad!

My pram arrived in store yesterday (we ordered it New Year's Eve!) they will Store it right up until baby arrives which I was keen to do but dh can't wait and wants to pick it up on sat so il be tidying out the cupboard under the stairs on Saturday morning now so we have somewhere to put it!

Hope everyone is well.
Exciting and scary all this talk of packing hospital bags. I have some bits for me and all (I think) for baby but not packed anything yet.

glitterglitters · 27/04/2017 10:56

I'd love more sleep 😭 worst bit is I can sleep but my toddler decided to wake up screaming mummy at about 3am. Then the baby started digging their feet in and stretching out in my tummy.

Not too bright this morning 😭

mcnics · 27/04/2017 12:58

Those lists are so helpful! I'll definitely be referring to them when I start thinking about packing some bags haha

House news - exchanging by the end of next week and hoping to be in by end of May!! Eeeek!!

Also, the washing of the second hand clothes has started... so cuuuute! 😍😍😍

July 2017 #5 - Third Trimester is Here!
ButterflyFree · 27/04/2017 14:42

@Lallypopstick 🙋🏼 you are not alone. I'm someone who very rarely cries - DH had only seen me well up (with happy tears) ONCE when he asked me to marry him - until I got pregnant!!

It's the silliest little things that set me off. The opening sequence of the new 'Boss Baby' movie (it's for kids 😂)... DH telling me he's going out for dinner with his friends... MIL making a throwaway comment that I'm not eating enough... The 'Anmum' Maternity milk advert (YouTube it if you've never seen it - it's from the Philippines. I SOBBED)

I don't know what's come over me!! I don't know how to control it! I used to be so emotionally reserved 😅😩 I never even used to get a hint of PMS. No mood swings. No doubt my thyroid hormones are exacerbating the pregnancy emotions even more.

Kitsandkids · 27/04/2017 16:14

I had a midwife appointment today and heard the heartbeat.

Got the dates of two antenatal classes at the hospital - at the end of May, so they should be interesting.

Lallypopstick · 27/04/2017 17:27

I'm so glad there's a few of us in the overly hormonal and emotional stage! I managed to not cry today at work so that's progress.

Butterfly I'm not sure I have the emotional strength to watch the advert you've said! I'd like to keep my "1 day without tears" record going!

Twixes · 27/04/2017 18:57

That's so weird Rhodes, I've had a bloody nose for months! Not nose bleeds per de, just lots of blood when I blow my nose. So strange!

Also completely knackered here. I'll definitely be in bed early tonight. Had such a bad day in work today, was super cranky and got quite annoyed with two people Blush

I think I'm just getting more anxious as I get to my growth scan tomorrow

Algebraic · 27/04/2017 22:57

Hello all, just found this thread so thought I'd join. Due July 19th Smile

LuciBee231015 · 28/04/2017 12:18

32 weeks today ladies!! How exciting!
8 weeks left to due date and 7 weeks left at work! 😳

Time to start getting my hospital bag together! Just need some toiletries, black knickers and something comfy to go home in and I think I'm pretty much there!

Might start washing baby bits this weekend too, so can have that all ready and then just pop it in my baby changing bag when I get it.

Got my second NCT Class tomorrow, looking fw to that as really enjoyed last weeks.

A trip to IKEA is on the cards this weekend too, need a black out blind for baby's room and also the room we'll be sleeping in. We are swapping to over our spare room as it has a bit more space for the Moses basket and my nursing chair.

Had the best sleep last night after pregnancy yoga, best sleep I've had all week despite the 2 trips to the bathroom!

Hope everyone is good 😊

Notyetthere · 28/04/2017 18:09

Welcome to the thread Algebraic!

Luci 32weeks. That is very exciting. Not long to go now.

I had my 31wk appointment today and I spoke to the midwife about the pushing pain down into the pubic bone when I walked or turned in bed. It has got worse over the last few days. Even just walking from my desk to the printer yesterday in the office was agony. Midwife is quite confident that it is PGP. If it gets worse then I will ask for a referral for physio but in the meantime, I will endeavour to remember to keep me legs together getting out car/bed/etc.

Fundal height was still close to the 95th percentile at 33cm but at least it was following a straight line from the 28 wk measurements. GTT results were a pass but very close to the highest maximum level so midwife is going to carefully monitor the 34wk fundal results as then I might need a growth scan. Worried I am going to have a big baby! Iron levels were also borderline so now I have to take supplements. I have felt very pregnant the last few days than ever before.

On the bright side, baby's heartbeat was nice to listen to again. She kicked the doppler which had us in giggles.

Dh ordered a pacapod to have as a changing backpack. I like the idea of being able to take out a pod and take that if you don't fancy taking the rest of the contents of the whole changing bag.

I also ordered a Phillips Avent Complete Starter set with steriliser, bottles and manual pump. It is current half price on Mothercare's website and I had a 20% off code to use. Whilst I plan to breast feed, I also plan to introduce the bottle quote early on once I have established a stable supply of breast milk. I would like to say at 2 months but I really don’t know so it is all guess work. I will pump but also I would like baby to be more dependent on the bottle than boob by the time I go back to work at 6 months old. Also gets DH more involved with feeding at an early stage.

Rhodes same here with the nose bleed. There is always dried up blood when I blow my nose first thing in the morning when I wake up and also normally when I blow it again in the evening during my shower. The good thing is it not painful so I just put it down to another minor pregnancy irritation.

We are going to order our pram next week. I don't think DH would also be patient enough to have it stored in the shop till later on. It is the one thing he has researched and picked so he is looking forward to messing about with it.

Twixes hope your growth scan went well.

Whilst my health trust don't run antenatal classes anymore, midwife has got me on to a postnatal care class at 34wk which talks about breastfeeding, bathing the baby, looking after the umbilical stump, and other things.

Mcnics Fingers crossed exchange goes through smoothly! At least when you move at the end of May it will hopefully give you just enough time to get settled in before baby's arrival. Lovely seeing the clothes on the line. I love seeing baby clothes on the washing line. There will be lots of that in the summer months when baby is here.

Twixes · 28/04/2017 20:55

Notyetthere it sounds like you'd a great appointment!

Had my appointment today and baby is still small, 11th centile for abdomen but it's higher than my last appointment (8th) so I'm pleased with that! In again in two weeks for another scan because she wants to keep an eye on things. I also discovered today that have a Succenturiate placenta, it's basically an extra lobe of placenta. Nothing to worry about as I'm having a c-section so there won't be any retained :)

On the pelvic pain, it's awful, I feel for you notyet - I had it bad with DS. Turning over at night was excruciating at the end. So far so good this pregnancy, a few twinges but nothing major :)

rhodes2015 · 28/04/2017 21:09

twixes hope everything went well at growth scan.

not argh that's crap about the pgp! I had a lot of pressure on my pubic bone around week 28 (it's actually eased off although not completely gone) but that was by far my most uncomfortable week so far!
Ha yes think my dh will be messing around with ours all morning, he wants to go and get it as soon as the shop opens.

Welcome @Algebraic and congratulations!

Happy 32 weeks luci enjoy NCT tomorrow!

I can't wait to finish work! The ladies in my office have suggested a meal on a Friday night a week or 2 before I leave, which is lovely but then I thought oh god what the hell will I wear! Grin

TinklingTheIvories · 28/04/2017 21:10

I've been prone to nosebleeds before pregnancy, but always have dried blood in the morning / at night. Also been having problems being dizzy/feeling faint. Saw the consultant Thursday who said it was something to do with low blood pressure, but when they checked me sitting/standing it did the opposite of what it's supposed to do! I guess pregnancy affects us all differently and my body just doesn't seem to know what to do! I've got a home blood pressure thing for my wrist, just need some new batteries and I'll be checking every time I feel dizzy to see if there's a pattern.

We've got a big party tomorrow night, but going to take it fairly easy in the day. Just finished planning what to buy tomorrow for it. As we've recently moved it'll be a nice house warming / birthday party / baby welcoming. It's fancy dress too, which I love!!

We've finally brought some non-bio too so this weekend we can wash all the baby things. We brought a second hand pram so all the covers of that will be washed too. Looking forward to finishing sorting the nursery out after finishing the painting last week. I uploaded the pic of 100 akre wood, but these are the other two walls I've finished. Smile

rhodes2015 · 28/04/2017 21:16

twixes it takes me that long to write a post I missed your growth scan update, glad they are keeping an eye on you and baby x
i have a growth scan on 25th may but not actually sure what has prompted that.

iwadeboxmonster · 28/04/2017 21:35

I managed to electrocute myself today, only mildly but had to go to hospital to be monitored. Everything seems to be ok thank the lord, just resting at home now being made a fuss of! They are going to give me an extra scan soon too

Twixes · 29/04/2017 06:27

How did you manage to do that iwade?! Hope you're ok now!

Twixes · 29/04/2017 06:30

Thanks rhodes, the nose bleed thing is very odd. Definitely didn't have it the last time, but then with DS I didn't have a permanent cough and cold. It had slightly abated for a week or so but it looks like I'm getting a new dose! And I think it's a baddie as I can feel it in my throat.

A friend had a perma-cold with both her pregnancies and it only went when she had the babies...

Kitsandkids · 29/04/2017 07:51

I got an appointment card through the post yesterday for a health visitor appointment at home in about 3 weeks' time. Has anyone else been sent one yet? I presume it's standard but the appointment time is for 2 hours! What do they need to talk about for 2 hours?!

glitterglitters · 29/04/2017 10:00

@Kitsandkids they won't take that long but they block it out for travel time but also if someone needs lots of time, has issues etc.

Spindelina · 29/04/2017 10:29

I've met my HV. Appointment took about 15 mins. I think the idea is to have at least met each other before the chaos of a newborn descends!

Spindelina · 29/04/2017 10:30

I also declined to see her at home - it was much more convenient for me to get from work to the children's centre where she is based.

Lallypopstick · 29/04/2017 10:33

Tinkling you're so talented - and making me feel guilty about my current plain nursery. Maybe we'll get round to papering this weekend. It's only a little room, and it needs doing before I get too big! Hope you enjoy your party.

Hope you're ok iwade and are taking it easy now.

Another one with the weird blood in my nose. And I seem to have a semi permanent cough too.

29 weeks today. I've decided I'll do the hospital bag after 30 weeks so I'll be looking at everyone's list to guide me.

I've booked a hypnobirthing class too. I've heard good things from people who have done hypnobirthing so I'm looking forward to it. And I have a pregnancy massage booked the same weekend.

Notyetthere · 29/04/2017 11:02

Lally definitely get on with the nursery before you are too big. I am at 31wks today and I have been staring at the pile of ironing for the last 2hrs willing myself to get a move on. Definitely less agile and mobile with aches in places. I'm glad DH and I started on the nursery just after 20wks. I helped put all the flat pack together. The last flat pack of ikea kallax 1x4 just before Easter was a struggle and took twice as long as it did just 5wks before.

Iwade that must have been scary. Glad all is ok.

Tinkling hope you have great party.

Twixes glad your scan showed some improvement. I forget that we have the same slight worry but at opposite ends of the growth spectrum. Hope your growth catches up at he next appointment.

ButterflyFree · 29/04/2017 13:42

I'm another one who's had a bloody nose every time I sneeze/blow, but no actual nosebleeds... also extra sensitive gums when brushing and flossing. I've been having these symptoms since the end of the first trimester; just put it down to the general increase in blood volume during pregnancy.

DH got a nasty ankle injury in his match last night so I've been playing nurse ever since he got home. He's been waiting on me hand and foot for the past 6 months so now it's my turn to take care of him!

I'm 27 weeks today, and we've just moved our flights to London forward by a week so we'll be travelling on 21st May when I will be 30 weeks. Can't wait to get to London and finally start nesting a bit! I've made wish lists on the Mothercare and John Lewis apps ready to go baby shopping when we arrive 😂

wildone81 · 30/04/2017 03:04

Anyone else awake? Jumpy legs, sore hips/pelvis, baby having a disco and a snoring husband...not a great combination really!!
