5th thread!

Going by the pace of ‘Thread #4’, this could the last one as we might all have our babies by the time it runs out. Unless we all give detailed commentary during labour Grin.

Bluebird hope you holding up okay! Nat glad you got checked out and hope the antibiotics get working quickly!

I'm 31+ 4 today, definitely on the countdown to mat leave. Thinking of pulling it forward a bit and going off at 36 weeks, I'm already finding the days too long and getting very uncomfortable at work.

Twixes · 02/05/2017 10:11

Exciting bluebird! Keep us posted on how you're doing :)

Not much going on here. I'm so so so tired though! Toddler had us up in the middle of the night for a while which isn't what I need right now. He's normally such a good sleeper Confused

I've a good bit of work to do today but I'm tempted to sneak back to bed for a while now he's at crèche...

glitterglitters · 02/05/2017 10:19

@Twixes I know how you feel. I've got lots of work to do to get ahead for my maternity leave and toddler is happy to play by herself but I'm just "mehhhhhh" and sat on the sofa in my pyjamas. 🙈

bluebird1235 · 02/05/2017 10:20

Hi all, thanks for all the kind words. @nat2311 - I hope you're doing better today!

Babies arrived this morning. Twin 1 at 03:53 weighing 3lb1 and Twin 2 at 05:01. Both breech but came out naturally. Will give you a better update later as it's been an eventful 24 hours!! Both doing as well as can be expected. Need a little help with breathing but they're already stepping that down so fingers crossed they keep improving! Got various scans today to check for more serious problems so praying for a good outcome there too!

Would post a pic but DH is massively anti social media and would like to keep them off the internet so you'll have to take my word for it that they are both gorgeous! Though I haven't actually seen them in real life yet (except for a couple of glimpses in delivery) as I had to have a spinal block post delivery to get rid of some retained placenta and I'm not able to get up yet!!

I always thought I might be the first from our group to give birth but never imagined it'd be in May! I hope you're all well!

glitterglitters · 02/05/2017 10:24

Congratulations @bluebird1235 glad to hear they're doing well. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Sending lots of positive vibes and well wishes to the four of you. Xxxxxxx

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 02/05/2017 10:58

Congratulations bluebird! Hope you are all doing well.

crombanna · 02/05/2017 11:35

Hi all been lurking for ages like mawita as not much to report!

Bluebird huge congrats what a surprise. Two vaginal breeches - good going! Shame about no pics but I'd be the same. Let us know how the babies' scans go. Fingers crossed.

30+1 today. Feeling pretty normal still, no aches and pains, bump pretty small - but I know she's growing in there because I've had a few extra scans and the movements are getting bigger. Still..My patients often don't twig when I'm wearing my uniform!

Going away for 10 days or so and then going to start thinking properly about getting ready for this baby. I have a tiny bag for life with a few things people have given me and NOTHING ELSE. Emotionally I'm just not ready to buy stuff yet.

LuciBee231015 · 02/05/2017 11:47

@bluebird congrats not the babies ❤️ Keep us updated! Bet you can't wait to see them!

The way baby is moving today feels like I've got a toddler in there!

I have 32 working days until Mat leave!! I'm still planning on working up until I'm 39 weeks.

Notyetthere · 02/05/2017 11:55

Bluebird that is such good news. Glad babies are doing well. 1st babies on the July thread! 😍

Congratulations @bluebird1235 what wonderful news of your early little arrivals ❤️❤️ Hope your recovery goes well and you'll soon be mobile and able to see your little darlings

nat2311 · 02/05/2017 12:32

Congratulations @bluebird1235! Rest up while you can! Sending lots of love to you all! X

rhodes2015 · 02/05/2017 12:41

Oh my god amazing!! massive congratulations @bluebird so glad to hear you and babies are doing well!! X

Spindelina · 02/05/2017 12:50

Congratulations, bluebird! Very glad to hear you are all doing well.

Kitsandkids · 02/05/2017 14:54

Congratulations bluebird! All the best to you and the babies.

I had another growth scan today. Baby pretty much 'average' in terms of size and following the 50th centile. I'm really pleased as I've got a diabetic clinic tomorrow and they try and scare me that my baby might be huge whereas I can show that, at this time, there's no evidence that that will be the case.

Mawita · 02/05/2017 15:21

@bluebird huge congratulations and so pleased to hear you are all doing fine. No doubts they are gorgeous! Remind us how far along the pregnancy were u?

Sending Huge hugs and positive energy your way.

The first babies of the thread how fab!

Notyetthere · 02/05/2017 16:23

Mawita I think Bluebird told us a few posts back that she was about 29 weeks and babies had measured approximately 3lb during the last scan she had.

VickyTheStitch · 02/05/2017 18:05

Hello all. I'm new to Mumsnet and just signed up today.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant today with my first baby at age 40. Due Date is 4th July.

Go to my first antenatal class later this week. It's a series of 3 run by our local children's centre and I'm very nervous about it as I'm quite a squeamish person and I can just imagine I'm going to pass out when they start talking about delivery etc. Pathetic I know!

Should have had a midwife appointment this week, but she only comes to our GP surgery once a fortnight, so have my next appointment next week. I was on the large side at my last appointment and lots of people regularly comment on how big I look, so it will be interesting to see where I am on the size scale next week!

rhodes2015 · 02/05/2017 18:28

Welcome to the thread vicky I am also due 4th July! Do you know if you are having a little boy or girl or are you waiting for a surprise? X

nat2311 · 02/05/2017 18:37

Welcome Vicky!

Quick wee update - started having stomach cramps this morning spoke to mw, sent back to hosp and monitored again. They say infection is causing too much water retention so been sent home with a catheter which I have to keep in for a week to give it time to clear and keep emptying properly.

VickyTheStitch · 02/05/2017 18:40

@rhodes2015 We're having boy. Do you know what you're having?

Lallypopstick · 02/05/2017 21:38

Bluebird I bet you're floating right now - two gorgeous little ones. Hope everything is sorted that needs to be and you can get plenty of cuddles in soon.

Seahawk80 · 02/05/2017 21:55

Wow congrats @bluebird1235 - hope you and the babies are doing well! So exciting ❤️

@natienka I feel the same as you - to embarrassed to post a pic of the "nursery" it is currently just a massive dumping ground. We've sold our chests of drawers and bedside tables and need to get new ones that will give us extra storage but for this month we're living in chaos 😱

natienka · 03/05/2017 09:13

Yay Blurbird!!! Not one but two babies already in May :) I hope you had plenty of time with them already and wishing you all the very best, wholeheartedly BearFlowers

Twixes · 03/05/2017 10:39

Fabulous news Bluebird!! that's amazing, breech and natural birth! Very impressed :) First babies of the thread, awwwww!

Have you chosen names yet?

wildone81 · 03/05/2017 20:47

Huge congrats bluebird!

Looking for some thoughts please ladies...

Ended up at labour suit late last night for monitoring when I realised I hadn't felt nearly as much movement as usual. That's the second time its happened, and the staff were once again lovely-checked everything out and confirmed I've got a particularly thick anterior placenta that's basically absorbing all the kicks. Baby was almost jiving and I wasn't feeling a thing!

Slightly surprised though because they've now suggested I go in twice a week for monitoring... not complaining at all, and actually really impressed that they're taking such an interest but I'm wondering if this is standard practice or if they have noticed the references in my notes to anxiety/panic disorder and are being extra supportive as a result.

I did get agreement yesterday for an elective section, based on perinatal mental health team assessment of anxiety/panic disorder, and I've had to be a bit 'assertive, to get it all agreed, so wondering if it's all related?
