I am awake as I slept through since 7:00....

I slept all night as well! Yay!

Ok ladies... today is my due date 😳 !!

40 weeks today! Come on baby!!

Baby wildone may be making an early appearance....admitted last night with high BP 😳 had the steroid injection to boost his/her lungs and now just waiting for doctors rounds to find out what happens next....

The nesting hadn't kicked in, house is a riot...wondering if I can smile sweetly and give my mum a to do list!

All my twinges have died off now.

I'm fully expecting to go over and had a conversation with dh last night about induction. Just wanted to get your thoughts.

Straw poll guys.

Go to local hospital for induction which although closer and bigger, partners cannot stay overnight during induction or post natally?

Go to hospital elsewhere when dh can stay but isn't super close?

If it was our first I'd say the one he could stay hands down but at the same time e have our daughter. She will be with family and there's enough of them for her to be happy etc not overly inconvenient but it's still a five minute drive compared to a half an hour drive.

Oooh @wildone81 don't worry! Your house will be a bomb site when they arrive anyway. Just saving yourself some effort.

@mawita thats good to know. I did chrck the .gov website but its not always very clear. Hahha no, no hr. Its not that kind of company lol its a family run business. Theyve not even got anyone to cover my maternity leave this time...and the other girl i work with has just told them shes pregnant and would be finishing in december so thats going to leave them in a bit of a pickle. Theres only 2 of us do the job and ive already decided im not going back until at least april. Ah well. Not my problem. The woman who replaced me on my last mat leave still does my old job (because they didnt put me in my old job amd had me doing something else instead. Not strictly legal i know but i reduced my hours and the new role was kind of less stress so i didnt mind)

Anyone have any nice plans for the weekend? Looks like its going to be pretty rainy :( mil took ds last night and is going in the caravan with him somewhere til sunday so we have a free weekend (although dh has said fil is coming to out an outside tap and hose in for us. Bit annoying coz this is likely our last weekend with just the 2 of us but hey ho). Up late this morning becauae we had no toddler lol

I had a lovely baby girl last night! I will be back with more info. Got to try and feed her now.

@glitterglitters my twinges/cramps went off overnight although it meant I slept fairly well they were pretty regular before bed so was hoping I was on my way! Fingers crossed we get our signs back! 😂

@mynameisntLinda I'm going to a 90's themed fancy dress hen do tomorrow night - I think I may be mad but gonna do nothing all day tomorrow I'm the hope I can stay standing past 9pm!

@glitterglitters tough call on the hospital. Partners cant stay at our hosp anyway (although they let dh stay last time, had our own room and poor guy slept on a crash mat on the floor) so im going to cry if i have to go hospital.
Would it be better for dd to have dh at home so she has a bit of routine still?
Im kind of thinking this time that dh might as well go home if i end up in hospital because he can get proper rest and be more use to me when i come home.

wildon dont worry about nesting. Babies are sneaky buggers and mess up your house when youre not looking anyway. Save yourself some time lol hope Drs come round wuickly so you know where youre at

luci i think my sweep was at 40 weeks and i had him at just gone 41. Could have happened anyway but hope it gets things going for you.

Personally I'm for the slightly further so OH can stay but that's probably coz this is my first. possibly would feel different if already had a little one at home that I'd want to stay near for them as well.

Thanks guys. Dd will be looked after in our house as the dog is here too. Fil lives 200 metres from our house and knows her routine well. She's quite flexible as well and he's really brilliant with her (he's the only person who can get her to go to sleep as quickly as me)

Visitor hours for the local hospital are 9am-9pm for partners. Stupid thing is the night is probably where I'd want/need him the most. I don't do well in "communal" environments (I had never shared a bathroom until I moved in with flat mates at 22 👸🏼 lol princess!)

I'm probably better equipped than I was first time round to deal with being "left" with the baby on my own but I really think those first 24 hours should be spent as a family unit.

I'm also concerned about them starting me off at about 8pm and being left to labour by myself (as they obviously don't move you till established labour) as I really needed to be distracted by dh last time round. And it bloody hurt.

Gahhh I'm almost annoyed my first went as well as it did.

This all hypothetical and I wouldn't be induced till 40+12 (15th July) but I'm a planner and need to have all my different options and scenarios worked out or I get flappy. Lol.

Wow, so much has happened this morning! Can you believe we have babies arriving and others making their way out?!

@LuciBee231015 get yourself in a dark room and try and get the oxytocin flowing. Fingers crossed you'll feel some twinges.

@wildone81 definitely give your mum a list to get the house sorted. It'll make things much easier for you to start from tidy once you're home with baby.

@glitterglitters Given that your daughter will be looked after by father in law, I vote for the hospital where your partner can stay over, especially if you know you'd find it hard without him. It's nice that you have a choice to do that.

@mynameisntlinda I'll be at a wedding this weekend, hoping that I don't get any signs of movement from the baby. Taking my maternity notes just in case, I figure 37 weeks is a good time to start carrying them with me.

A big congratulations to @notyetthere on your little girl. Can't wait to hear about her. And a hug to @ButterflyFree with all the passport and insurance stress. Hope you and @Mawita can meet up soon.

@lallypopstick i keep mine in my bag all the time (but more because id forget them at my appointments if i didnt). Hope you enjoy the wedding! Were doing an escape room this evening so also hoping baby stays put...be an exciting twist if she didnt haha

@glitterglitters if they wanted to induce late on and you dont want it just tell them no. Youre in control. They cant force induction. And if its pessary you can often go home (depending on tyoe so worth asking, ill be asking at consult appointment on monday). I certainly wouldnt be left to labour on my own, last time baby was out within 4 hours of waters going and theres no way id have been able to hypnobirth my way through it on my own.
I get what you mean about being a family unit in the early stage. Weve got mil on standby for ds and my auntie will be on standby for the dog if needed. Its one less thing to worry about

I think the iron tablets are making me vom. Just lost everything ive eaten this morning. Ive already lost weight (about 5lbs in 5 weeks) mw not concerned but if im gonna start vomming so much again its just gonna get worse. Will mention it to consultant but not sure they can do much to help. Eurgh...i feel like i am so "done" being pregnant

My notes come with me if I'm going somewhere where I would go to a different hospital, and/or if DH wouldn't be able to get them to me in a five minute taxi ride. So for eg, I was working in the next town for a day last week, and they came with me.

myname, sorry you're feeling rough. If it's any consolation, I vomited all the way though early labour last time round... and again afterwards...but not in the active bit in the middle!
