Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

Help yourself to a Biscuit, here's to another month of chatting!

We'll tell our DC after the scan. I've got a friend who's due any day now & she really suffered with sickness at the start so I'm going to broach the subject with the DC along the lines of "do you remember why we were making dinners when [friend] had a sore tummy? Y'know how I've had a sore tummy recently...." Pretty sure they'll be excited about the idea, they'll probably be somewhat less pleased about the reality - especially DS2 who's a real mama's boy!

Still trying to figure out how to tell my parents. With DS1 DM pretty much just said "oh, ok". DS2 got "oh... I thought we were waiting a bit longer..." & they overheard DH & me discussing the possibility of a #3 & told him not to let me talk him into anything. Hmm I chat to my mum via messenger quite a lot so I might just tell her I've got a nice photo of one of her grandchildren to show her, send her the scan pic & hope she can gather her thoughts enough before calling me to pretend to be excited! Or I might just wimp out & get one of the DC to tell her...!

DH will call his parents & just tell them. They'll probably offer to buy us a bigger car. It's not often I find PILs easier than DPs but our DC are likely to be PILs only grandchildren so they do tend to make more of a fuss!

I think I'm going to take a picture of DD in a big sister top and email that around.

Thanks for the gagging tips Haz.

Morning,
I'm having blood taken this morning for the harmony test and a scan on the 3rd to check the nuchal fold. We'll also find out whether it's a boy or girl from the blood work.
Planning on telling DS after the scan. He'll be with me all weekend as his father is away so I'm going to make the most of the time before anyone else puts ideas into his little head. He's 10 and I'm not sure how he's going to take the news. He's already told me he has one sister (from his father's previous marriage) and doesn't want anymore! Confused
We'll get DS to tell both sets of parents that weekend too. Via FaceTime for my parents and probably over dinner for DPs.

Hi everyone,

Trying to merge the 2 November groups now that we are all further along. Please come and join us. There is also a FB group already set up for November babies

AGnu · 17/04/2017 13:26

We've discussed merging the groups before but I think most of us are happy with a smaller group, thanks Rufus. Smile

Hi Rufus. I think a few of us have already said we prefer the smaller group and a fair number of us want to steer clear of facebook.

There are a few people in both groups, I think.

Zampa · 17/04/2017 13:28

Jinx Agnu!

Foggymist · 17/04/2017 13:41

I feel hungover today, it's horrible. Stomach churning, head banging, ugh.

MrsGB2225 · 17/04/2017 15:10

Thanks Rufus, I find it easier to keep track with the one group for now though.

MrsGB2225 · 17/04/2017 15:11

Sorry you are having a tough day foggy. Morning sickness is supposed to peak at 9 weeks and then get better (fingers crossed!)

Hopeful25 · 17/04/2017 15:25

Thanks rufus I prefer the smaller group and being on MN

Oh lord 9 weeks today and I don't think I've felt worse - really hope this is the peak. I feel nausea but idea of eating anything makes me want to be sick - and my tummy is churning/ rumbling. So far I've managed to eat some tortilla wrap and sip water through day. :( roll on three more weeks!!

butterybollocks · 17/04/2017 15:31

@durezidal...you can't hide anything in jods!
I'm a worrier too - still nervous wiping after every wee.

I'm 9 weeks today. Booking in appt tomorrow. I felt pretty rubbish until 14 weeks last time so not expecting to lose all these early pregnancy symptoms just yet... Although it would be nice!

Hopeful25 · 17/04/2017 15:31

Can I add a stupid question - I see people mentioning how far they will actually be at the 12 week. I don't have an appointment yet?

Is it different for different areas? I'm in Liverpool, my doctors surgery told me to call Liverpool women's hospital , they gave me booking in app with midwife ( tomorrow ) and that's all.

Should I have received another letter or app?

Also I had a dream me and my mum were pregnant Shock

Zampa · 17/04/2017 15:46

Hopeful I think that, where I am, your booking in appointment triggers the next letter regarding the scan date. I assume that the information you give them at booking in determines, to an extent, the treatment that you'll have.

Springersprung · 17/04/2017 15:46

Hi everyone, just joining the new thread. Hopeful I have my booking in appt on Wednesday and I'm assuming my scan date won't be organised until then. Having been very symptom free (and paranoid about it) it would seem nausea is just kicking off for me. Not been sick yet, but had to use some deep breathing at points over the last 2 days. Hope it doesn't get much worse for a bit at least - got to get through all day Saturday as a bridesmaid!

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 17/04/2017 15:52

Hi @Hopeful25.
I've had my booking appointment (Tuesday last week) and off the back of that midwife has referred me for my 12 week scan. I should get a letter this week or next with the details for that.
I'm in Cheshire.

@butterybollocks, you're not the only nervous wiper. I'm still carrying round tampons as though having them on me will ward off any chance that I might see blood.

@Hopeful25, I can sympathise, I was like that all weekend Sad now I'm not too bad as long as I eat something every three hours, but all I'm managing is absolute rubbish. So far today I had a packet of wotsits for breakfast, a kids frozen microwave pizza for lunch and a mid afternoon hot chocolate while out shopping. God knows what dinner will be. Potentially some jelly.
So much for my grand ideas of being one of those organic earth mother type pregnant women who flits about on 12 portions of veg a day with a lovely vibrant glow.

I think I'm going to email my boss today and let her know. I'm only 8+3 but I feel reassured enough after the early scan I had.

Hopeful25 · 17/04/2017 15:53

Thanks Zamba and springer I was worried I have missed doing something to arrange it! Xx

Hopeful25 · 17/04/2017 15:55

Thanks cuppatea and good to read I'm not the only one! Just trying to take it as a sign everything is happening as it should for my little sprout ( yep I have a name already!) xx

Hopeful25 · 17/04/2017 15:56

Wosits sound good

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 17/04/2017 16:02

Wotsits and mini cheddars are probably the main thing my baby is made from!

TeaAndPjs · 17/04/2017 16:08

I'm still waiting for the nausea to properly hit me, except for 2 days of it being constant I've have barely any, just the odd wee bout now and again but doesn't last long

Hopeful25 · 17/04/2017 16:17

Cuppatea another yes for cheddars from me :)

Teaandpjs there are a % of women who don't get morning sickness or not too badly- I had hoped I would be one of them until I spoke to my mum and sister. Apparently it can follow that if your mum had it badly you will. ( my mum had it bad)

I've also read morning sickness gets a bit better with each child you have. This is my first - anyone expecting 2nd,3rd,4th who can vouch for this? ( I did read it on goggle Confused)

NoCatsHere · 17/04/2017 16:25

Ha hopeful I don't want to put a spanner in the works but this my 3rd (not counting mc just before this pregnancy) and I was completely symptom free for both my previous 2 pregnancies and this one I've been so tired, asleep in the sofa at about 8pm and evening nausea where only salt and vinegar crisps helps!!

butterybollocks · 17/04/2017 16:57

Hopeful... 2nd baby for me, was nauseous from 4 to 13 weeks last time. This time I've had minimal nausea but overall I'd say I feel slightly worse... Completely exhausted, major food aversions, shivering, and I just feel really uncomfortable in my own skin at times (hard to describe it!). I was much more able to carry on with life as normal last time but maybe that's also because I wasn't dealing with a demanding 4 year old!

TeaAndPjs · 17/04/2017 17:09

This is my 6th pregnancy but will ne my 3rd child and all the others have been equally bad except for this 1 so hopefully my body is just giving me a break this time :)
