Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

Help yourself to a Biscuit, here's to another month of chatting!

Thanks @TeaAndPjs , it is really strong and loud, there's no missing it so for now I feel a little reassured as it is obviously still there and still viable. Thank goodness for my Doppler!!!

DuRezidal · 19/04/2017 19:17

@butterybollocks I've just looked how expensive they are!!! I haven't had a booking in appointment yet, it's on Monday when I will be 11 weeks so don't even have the date for the first scan yet!

AGnu · 19/04/2017 19:18

How exciting to be able to hear the heartbeat Du! I totally get what you mean about the worry never ending, I could easily drive myself mad with scans if I could afford it! Blush

I had a dream last night that I'd started spotting but DH was being really calm & reassuring about it. I was really annoyed with DH for not panicking a bit! I've spent all day feeling a bit grumpy with him because of it. The dream worked out alright in the end though - Kush from EastEnders turned up & insisted on taking me to the hospital but by that time I couldn't remember if I'd actually been spotting or just dreamed it. That made it extra confusing to wake up to!

I only gagged once today, as opposed to 5 times yesterday. I think I'm going to take hula hoops to bed instead of bourbons - I'm not convinced the sugar first thing was helping. Now I just need to drink more than one cup a day... My skin is starting to feel dry from the dehydration!

How's everyone else getting on? It's been quiet here today!

I've got an early scan booked for tomorrow evening at 7pm. I'm a mixture of excited and anxious. My last scan I had in January confirmed my mmc, I'm terrified of history repeating itself.

Foggymist · 19/04/2017 19:41

Salt & vinegar hula hoops saved me for months on ds, pretty much fine most days this time and wouldn't eat them in a fit now!

Follow up scan tomorrow, a freebie because we could see so little at 7 week scan. Saw a heartbeat that time but won't really believe it til I see it again tomorrow, there's some chance of it actually happening in my head then.

DuRezidal a bit of small pink spotting isn't much to worry about especially as youve found the heartbeat since. When I had a bright red bleed at 10 weeks on ds I just took a bit of a Que Sera Sera approach, as there really was nothing I or anybody else could do to stop it if there was something wrong. I'm the same now though, I wont relax much until 26 weeks (viable age) and like before I always said I wouldn't relax or believe it until me and baby were home from hospital for a week.

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 19:42

Fingers crossed for you sock, I'm Friday lunchtime so we will have scans very close to one another. How many weeks will you be? Sorry if you've already said. X

Topsyloulou · 19/04/2017 20:47

I'm not sure the biscuits in the morning are working for me now either AGnu. I slowly ate a pack of mini cheddars on the way to work this morning & felt much better than after 2 biscuits. Also meant I didn't need to run & grab some breakfast as soon as I got to work & when I did go to get something it wasn't the normal battle trying not to retch smelling all the food. The cheddars are DS's favourite snack so I had to sneak them out the cupboard while he wasn't looking & will have to replenish asap.

Got my appointment with the consultant in the post today to discuss ELCS. I'll be 15 weeks, feels too early but i know I don't need to make a decision then, it's just to discuss the options. It's all starting to feel very real!

Good luck to those of you having scans.

TeaAndPjs · 19/04/2017 20:55

I have my booking in app Tomor and then my scan just after yo check it's defo a viable pregnancy and if it's twins

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 21:01

Good luck for tomorrow teaandpjs.

Topsy that has to be better than the half an Easter egg I gobbled this morning as soon as I woke up!

MrsGB2225 · 19/04/2017 21:12

Good luck tomorrow tea, I'll be thinking of you.

theotherendofthesockportal · 19/04/2017 21:13

@Hazandduck by my dates I will be 10 weeks tomorrow. By the midwifes I will be 9w2d. Good luck to you too, is yours an early scan?

I feel vile today, I feel seasick and my brain isn't functioning.

pomadas87 · 19/04/2017 21:16

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow morning too - have been worried the past couple days as I feel my symptoms have nearly all gone. Scan isn't for another 3 weeks which seems ages away. Anyone with dopplers - are these expensive and easy enough to use?

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 21:17

Yes mine is a private scan just for reassurance really. If it goes ok I will call my GP after and arrange booking in with the midwife. By LMP I should be 10+6 but I'm not holding my breath, I've no idea when I ovulated and I think we DTD around Valentine's Day (how tacky, ha) so we shall see what happens. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, although I will be devastated whatever as your hopes sky rocket as soon as you get a BFP don't they!

Tea have you had any other symptoms since your first scan? X

TeaAndPjs · 19/04/2017 21:27

Thanks ladies!

Yeah I've still been getting symptoms and tummy is expanding, tiredness and sore boobs is all I've been getting recently with the odd wave of nausea! Oh and mood swings!! I'm hoping all is well and it was just too early (like I said before I had it done)

Hazandduck · 19/04/2017 21:28

That is good news, and if you've had no pain or bleeding, fingers crossed it will all be ok at your next scan. The suspense is awful. Xx

Zampa · 19/04/2017 21:41

For those with Dopplers, how do you tell the difference between the baby's heartbeat and your own?

NikaKaKa · 19/04/2017 22:03

@Zampa I've not tried to find baby's heartbeat this time around but when I did when pregnant with my DD (4), her heartbeat was much faster than my loud slow thumping one....I also held my hand on my chest to see if the rhythm matched what I was hearing. Hope that helps

Zampa · 19/04/2017 22:11

Ta!

Have you seen that Serena Williams is expecting and won a Grand Slam whilst in early pregnancy? I can barely get through the day at the moment!

DuRezidal · 19/04/2017 22:59

@Zampa the baby's heartbeat is REALLY fast, about 140 bpm. It's very different to your own and once you find it you will see there is no way you can mistake the two.

thecrab · 20/04/2017 08:32

I had a private scan at 7 weeks and all was fine but I've booked another for next Friday when I'll be 11 weeks because I'm paranoid. Also it'll be our wedding anniversary the week after so I want to know either way beforehand so we can just try and concentrate on celebrating our anniversary.

I had a call from doc's yesterday asking that I repeat the urine sample as it came back 'abnormal'. What does that even mean?

Hazandduck · 20/04/2017 08:34

It may be you have a UTI or something like that? Hope your scan goes well crab. It's such an anxious time, bloody hate the first trimester!

I've started to feel a lots less sick the last couple of days. In fact my symptoms have pretty much gone, which is worrying! I thought I was getting a bump a couple of weeks ago, but if anything it's gone down! I should be 9+2. I'm going to try and get a scan for Monday to put my mind at rest. Don't think I'm going to tell anyone though, because my husband thinks I'm being paranoid. I hate all the anxiety of the first trimester Sad

AGnu · 20/04/2017 10:07

My symptoms are easing a bit too & my bump isn't so noticeable. I was the same last time too - big obvious bloat to begin with that went down at around 10w & a proper bump started growing at around 12w. It's a really scary time, isn't it?! You get passed about 7w & start to believe it might actually be happening but then things change again & make you panic! Not long until the end of the trimester now... But I'm another one who won't truly believe it until I've had the baby at home for a while!

Welcome Natalie!

My boobs are less sore each day and think they are actually reducing a little in size. The fog is lifting also which is nice, but the exhaustion and nausea and constipation is in full force!

I get pangs of paranoia also but am desperately trying to stay positive. Feels like an eternity until my next scan on 9 May. Will be 12+3 then, ish.

Welcome Natalie
