I'm part of the 'buying stuff too early' club too 😬 after the 2 mc's I stopped believing in jinxing it so I've been buying bits and bobs I like as I see them, even before the bfp. I've got a big tub of baby stuff 🙈 I just want to be able to use them!

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 14/04/2017 20:56

Can someone please tell me what all the abbreviations on this thread mean? I'm so confused! Thanks so much Blush

Chamonix1 · 14/04/2017 21:02

EDD- expected due date
Mmc- miss missed carriage
Mc- miss carriage

BFF- big fat positive

And many many more I'm sure !

tumbleouttabed · 14/04/2017 21:14

Dd - darling daughter
Ds - darling son
Dc - darling children
Dh - darling husband
Fmu - first morning urine

60percentbanana · 14/04/2017 21:16

Amazing - that's rubbish. It reminds me of previous pregnancies, with midwives who should know better saying things thoughtlessly. What if your toes are also curling at the thought of a fourth cs and she's scared you further?!

Zabe that's rubbish. Fingers and toes crossed for you x

Madeforthis* welcome x

Still no symptoms here other than the bigger boobs. I keep having a quick grope when no one is looking just to reassure myself Grin

WhiskyIrnBru · 14/04/2017 21:56

Hi everyone. Just found out yesterday!

WhiskyIrnBru · 14/04/2017 21:59

Forgot to say due 24th December. Typical I'd find out over a holiday weekend so won't be able to make an appointment till Tuesday. I am on medication for my thyroid so a bit nervous.

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 14/04/2017 22:05

Bfp?

looby1304 · 14/04/2017 22:08

Is anyone else struggling with feeling really hot at night? It's only started the last couple of nights but I'm really struggling!

On a different note, I've got through one night of birthday celebrations by saying I'm on antibiotics for a UTI (also explains the frequent need to wee!), just one more day to get through. I'm not sure if they believe me but if they don't then they're being far too polite to say anything which is fine with me!

Lixon · 14/04/2017 22:21

Thank you for the list tootsy! Hello battenberg, madeforthis and whiskyirnbru Smile

I have minor thyroid issues too and expect to be referred to a consultant based on my last booking in. I have upped my levothyroxine myself based on previous patterns but have a form to get bloods done - worth getting levels checked out as I think it's very common to need meds increased in the first 12 weeks.

BFP = big fat positive. Poas = pee on a stick

fishfingerSarnies · 14/04/2017 22:23

Ah found you guys.
I was going to post something about bras and boobs but we've moved on I see.

Only sign so far is agonising boobs. Hot water bottle on them is helping though.

We are away at my MIL at the moment and it's come out to everyone that I'm pregnant. My sil and mil knew we were trying so as soon as I wasn't drinking any gin it was obvious! I'm sure we'd tell them anyway if the worst was to happen I'm pretty close to my mil and my sil already new about last months early miscarriage. I like people knowing but hate the actual telling.

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 14/04/2017 22:48

Ohhh. I knew slot of those, just not the preg related ones 😂
I have only a couple of symptoms so far, I am so thirsty I could drink a river, and i feel a bit sick, also I have really bad wind!
Never mind, 35 weeks to go!

TipTop333 · 14/04/2017 23:57

Looby it is always one of my first symptoms but it dies down fairly quickly so hopefully you don't have the sweats for too long!

isitwinetimeyet16 · 15/04/2017 05:07

@FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg I have the wind too!! In fact that's pretty much my only symptom!! Grin

Mrsbluebell17 · 15/04/2017 06:06

Looby yes that was my first sign of being pregnant - crazy heat at night. It gets me every few nights now. And I wake up early!

Feedmy I've got the wind too. I've never had wind like it, at least it's all for a good cause Smile

I have the occasional nauseas feeling and my right boob keeps hurting but other than that, limited symptoms to those I've listed here. Some people remain symptomless though, a friend of a friend didn't know she was pg until like 4 months in as no symptoms!

I'm nervous about my trip away with colleagues in a few weeks, as I need to work out how to avoid alcohol then!

Angielka · 15/04/2017 06:26

Hello everyone! This thread moves so fast! Thanks for the stats - here are mine Smile

Age 36
Edd 2 Dec
Scan yesterday Grin next 25 April and 19 May
I have 2dds one is 4 and one is 6 and we haven't told them yet but they keep saying things like 'I'd like a little brother' and 'if we had a baby in he house I would help you change nappies' Hmm had a mc last September

I totally lost track of my boobs in previous pregnancies but am also part of the group starting to spill over

Also craving salty vinegary things and have thrown up most days this week.

Scan yesterday was lovely, although I know not everyone is going for one. After the mc, seeing a little heartbeat and the blob on the screen measuring what it should was such a relief.

Told my parents but that's about it for now... think I'll have to tell some colleagues soon as it's getting a bit obvious how rough I'm feeling.

Will shut up now Blush

Lixon · 15/04/2017 08:04

Angiekla, congratulations on the scan! Seeing a heartbeat is amazing. So sweet that your DC are excited without even
Knowing yet!!

Mrsbluebell can you pretend to drink? I did for my work Christmas party. Take a wine glass and pretend to sip/refuse top ups at dinner and for drinks either order yourself a gin or vodka with mixer (and just get the mixer and lime etcr) or take drinks from others and leave it toilet/on bar etc. I think bar people must get this all the time.. Just don't oversell your drink - amazingly I wasn't caught when 2 girls asked for the same as my cocktail and were surprised it didn't have rum in it Hmm I wish I had found at 4 months pregnant!!!Grin

I'm another one with wind, I think that prompted me taking the test actually - I'm hoping it doesn't stay for the whole thing...

I am (sadly) overjoyed to have that a 3+ on my last digI just now. I refuse to use more than 2 given the cost so Ive never had one before (last pregnancy was chromosomal abnormality that meant delayed development) so even though I shouldn't get too excited I am grinning like a loon while husband sleeps!

I haven't told anyone else yet but will probably tell 1 friend today and parents after scan if all goes well. We are living with them for a few months so will become harder to hide anyway. I will tell people if I miscarry again in any case but don't want to get hopes up too early (long awaited first grandchild)...

Mrsbluebell17 · 15/04/2017 08:24

Lixon I can try that and to be honest that's my usual trick when I don't want to drink too much when I wasn't pregnant, I used to have one or two g+t's and then switch just to tonic but the danger is that it's the sort of event where people go in rounds for the week..... so if they think I'm drinking g+t for example they might just keep getting that. I think I'll just have to say I'm off alcohol whilst I'm on some medication or something. It's going to be a long week!!! Smile

We've only told my parents, my brother, SIL and my best friend. SIL and best friend knew we were trying so we told them. My family have some stuff going on so we wanted them to know. Going to try and hide it from others until 12 week scan so can be a nice surprise then to announce it.

Marie90 · 15/04/2017 08:30

Welcome all the newbies! I've had a lot of catch-up reading to do as I've had a busy start to the long weekend so missed so much on MN!

We're spending this weekend with family so I've had to become inventive with the whole non drinking thing... To the point where I'm pouring shlur out of a wine bottle had to tip the wine down the sink, what a waste!

Drinking anything out of a wine glass also seems to fool people quickly. I'm going to have a job convincing my mum I'm drinking as she knew we were trying so will spot me straight away if i slip up!

I am looking forward to telling them but want to keep it quiet for just a little longer as we're only 5+5!

Carley27 · 15/04/2017 08:50

Thanks for the welcomes - this thread moves fast!

Zaber the bleeding sounds frustrating, hope it eases up soon 🌸 I'm feeling good but I don't think it's sunk in yet, lack of symptoms make it hard to believe anything is happening in there!

Tip if you're uncomfortable definitely get out the maternity clothes! I'm already looking forward to comfy clothes 😁

Congrats on the baby and upcoming wedding battenberg, busy year ahead!

Congrats made and whisky, my EDD is 23rd Dec, Xmas could be interesting for us!

Lixon that's not sad at all, congratulations on getting your 3+ 🙂 glad to hear you got off with the mocktail as that's what I will be attempting next weekend!

How did everyone's partner take the news? My DH thought I was on the wind up because the line wasn't as dark as the control line so it couldn't be a positive, refused to believe me until he googled it Grin he then said I must have been pretty sure I was pregnancy since I'd bought a test, so he's obviously never noticed my many previous tests in the bin!
He's been very excited since he realised it wasn't a joke :)

Zaberwocky · 15/04/2017 09:04

I had a genius idea I thought I'd share this morning Grin

I am eating breakfast on the landing next to the toilet door.

How's everyone feeling today?

Zaberwocky · 15/04/2017 09:06

Carley DH tried not to get too excited at first, there's been a few previous MC and I think he didn't want to get his hopes up.

He only really got excited after our last scan. The heartbeat seemed to turn him into a pile of mushy peas. Oh god. Please someone tell me you can still get mushy peas in a can!?

LapinR0se · 15/04/2017 09:15

I can't do up any of my jeans or trousers either. Bloating and the side effects of progesterone supplements. No clue what to wear to work on Tuesday!

Mrsbluebell17 · 15/04/2017 09:33

Zaber that's a great idea re breakfast - less running distance when required, and yes you can still get mushy peas in a can - wouldn't advise them for breakfast though Wink

Carley mine couldn't believe it as we've got used to seeing negatives. He's overjoyed though and almost as bad as me at wanting to start buying things but we know it's too soon.

In other news I just gave in and did my other cb digi which I was supposed to wait until Sunday to do, and I got the 3+ so panic over. So so happy Grin

TipTop333 · 15/04/2017 09:34

Eeeek after I got a bout of anxiety yesterday after what I felt were fading symptoms I have an early scan booked in for today! I'm nervous.
