Due to recent sad news and at the suggestion of others, I have started this new thread. Let's hear everyone's news.......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Holly29 · 29/03/2007 09:38

Yes and sorry for saying it was Friday by the way. Think my brain was having a meltdown yesterday. keep us posted Laksa.

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/03/2007 09:42

Have to admit, I did have a little snigger to myself at that Holly ... pregnant brain

kinki · 29/03/2007 09:53

Holly, I went the whole of yesterday thinking it was friday. I had good news at the ANC yesterday, and afterwards I rang a few friends with the news. Three of them were out, so I left messages on their answerphones. After the 3rd message I realised I wished them all a good weekend. I felt so stupid. I nearly rang their answerphones again to apologise for the pregnancy brain but then thought that would make me look even more stoopid. I want my brain function back.

spraklynewthing · 29/03/2007 10:15

Fingers crossed for you laska - sure it will be fine. I too am getting tummy pulls and cramps. Like Eddie it's when I have a bump growth spurt.

I have quite an impressive bump already - all at the front and very tight! Everyone is shocked when I say I am only just over 4 months!

LoopyLouLisa · 29/03/2007 11:07

Kinki,

Do you mean that you actually got your brain function back since births of your other dc?! Mine is still mush and I think I spent the first few months of ds's life completely obsessed by how much time I had left until he was due for another feed. I think I was a robot

xx

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/03/2007 12:43

Tantrum purchase of doppler arrived today. It works!!! Said I wouldn't get one, but ordered one yesterday from ebay on impulse. It's v cool.

Also good news, my DH has agreed to paying for a private scan week before my 20 week one, he said no probs at all. I do love my DH

Re pregnant brain, it took me YEARS to get brain working properly again, or did I ever get it back

Am off out to get myself a fab salad with a bit of everything from great sandwich shop. Yum.

Hope everyone's well.

Let us know how you get on Laksa x x

laksa · 29/03/2007 12:59

Hi guys,

Thankyou so much for the support, it means a lot. I managed to get a scan at the PRU for 11.20am this morning and they can't find a reason for the spotting although said it could be a minor infection (they didn't go into detail) but the baby was dancing around waving at its silly mum for worrying so much, so I am very relieved. They said to just rest and take it easy so I am being lazy and looking up birth pools on the net [smile}

Glad to hear the cramps are normal, its just I don't have a bump yet and hadn't had cramping since the early stages.

Kinki you are funny, don't think you're the only forgetful one though, the other day I put the ketchup bottle in the freezer by mistake

Anyway sorry to be such a drama queen, I am normally much more laid back, honest.

xx

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/03/2007 13:11

That is SUCH good news, I'm so happy for you Laksa! x x x x x x

laksa · 29/03/2007 13:20

thanks HWBB, forgot to say when the doc phoned this morning to say I had an appointment he told me to get drinking as I would need a full bladder, well I didn't realise that all you needed was a pint...I drank about 3 down, and oh my god was I in pain I couldn't even sit down to wait for the appointment, just kept pacing around like a lunatic

xx

spraklynewthing · 29/03/2007 13:22

Excellent news, Laska - no drama queens here after all we are all in the same boat

spraklynewthing · 29/03/2007 13:23

Sorry Laksa, keep typing LASKA - D'oh!

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/03/2007 13:36

OOh, I had that on my dating scan, drank way too much, and SERIOUSLY thought I was going to wet myself!! Funny thing is when the lady started the scan she said my bladder was full and could I go and half empty it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now there's pelvic floor control!

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/03/2007 13:36

meant to say bladder was tooooo full!

laksa · 29/03/2007 13:42

thats ok, sprakly, I find I do that sometimes. Laksa is just a singaporean dish I quite like to eat when I go back to visit my mums family out there. May I ask why you are sprakly not sparkly?

xx

Pennypops · 29/03/2007 13:43

Hi all, just been catching up - work is manic. Laska, I'm so glad all is well for you

I get little pulls and twinges from time to time - I just assume its everything stretching. My bump has all of a sudden got quite big. I'm 17+1 (heard heartbeat at 16 week check up last week - a sound I could listen to forever).

I have been reading all your foodie postings - am gutted I haven't had any cravings yet!!

laksa · 29/03/2007 13:44

HWBB, I didn't want to empty mine as was scared that once I'd started I wouldn't want to stop...impressed with your pelvic floor muscles though

FilBrit · 29/03/2007 14:25

Hi Laksa just wanted to say that I'm so pleased all is ok for you X

Cathbell · 29/03/2007 15:47

Hi,

Hi Cathbell - welcome to the September thread...

Is anyone feeling movements yet? I think I'm just starting to feel them!

Holly29 · 29/03/2007 17:42

Hi Cathbell!

Laksa I am SO pleased for you. Great news. Keep imaging your wee one waving at you and you'll be fine.

Yes, I'm glad to hear that everyone else here has pg brain. It's getting worse for me. Honestly. And I do one of those jobs where having a pg brain just isn't allowed.... Never mind. More and more people know now and it's all fine.

Still only have a tiny bump this end, but I guess that's because it is my first one and I'm not due until the end of September. I'll be so jealous when you have given birth and I'll be still huge and no doubt fed up!

Lou, hate to tell you this, but I think you may have cut and pasted your old date instead of your new one! Only spotted it cos its the sort of thing I would do. Apologies if I got that wrong, (highly probable).

I have got a date for an elective section already, should I be changing my due date to match that d'you think? Anyone else been told already they'll need a section? Weird knowing the lo's birthday so soon.

By the way, I'm glad I'm not the only one with what dh terms 'baby brain'. Loopy, I reckon ds1 was about 3 when my cognitive function resembled that of pre-pregnancy status. It was a bit quicker with ds2, probably when he was 1. So length seems to diminish with subsequent pregnancies. HOWEVER, now for the bad news, ime, severity increases with subsequent pregnancies. I really have been losing the plot lately.
