nh101,

I can't bear it. Am so sad. Was about to come on and moan about being stuck up in Newcastle for work on my own, but frankly I'll just be quiet. Please look after yourself.

fff45 · 21/03/2007 20:39

hello everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself to the list but am a bit shy, as I am likely to be the old lady of the list!
I've just turned 45 and am expecting my first child on 1st sept. I had a missed miscarriage 2 years ago so can sympathise with nh.
From what I've been reading I'm not doing too badly - in week 17, nausea gone almost completely, just incredibly tired! Is this the same for younger mums-to-be?

HammerHeadShark · 21/03/2007 20:54

Hopeitwontbebig · 22/03/2007 09:37

Hopeitwontbebig · 22/03/2007 09:37

Welcome fff45!

spraklynewthing · 22/03/2007 10:12

fff45 - welcome!

If it's any consolation I am 29 and I have trouble keeping my eyes open around 90% of the time. Except at 2am when I am suddenly very, very awake!

By the way - are any of you guys feeling movement yet? I know this sounds daft but I think I am - more an internal nudge then the butterfly feeling - but not sure . Certainly doesn't feel like wind! I'm 17 weeks tomorrow...

So sorry to hear your news nh101 - my thoughts are most definitely with you. x

laksa · 22/03/2007 10:18

Hi guys,

Has anyone got falling snow this morning!?! I am feeling quite cheerful today, despite the fact that it's my birthday and I have reached the end of my carefree 20s and am now a grownup 30yr old I think being pregnant has definitely softened the blow...I will always treasure this year

Amongst other pressies my dh bought me this huge bolster pillow from the white company...it is almost as long as I am! Is very comfy and since he travels alot I will be able to put one of his shirts on it and cuddle up to it whilst he's away Only problem is that it takes up alot of room in the bed.

Mrsmar, sophus, I have backache too but I have a dodgy sciatica pain that I've always had if I either do too little exercise or too much...know which is the problem right now, need to get my body moving to work out the cranks...Mine seems to run in my family but my mum said that her backache went away in all of her pregnancies

loopylouisa, I'm sure your dh understands that its not your fault. Mine is most amused that I seem to get moved to cry over some really smaltzy things on tv sometimes. We are just hormone factories at the moment!

Welcome fff45, I think everyone gets tired sometimes although this is supposed to wear off in the 2nd trimester. If you are very tired I would just get the dh to do the housework/chores...its a good excuse

Edie, sorry you've had a return of the sickness. You have my sympathy Hopefully it is just tailing off to be gone completely very soon.

Has anyone seen the filthy dreams thread in pregnancy. I seem to be in the midst of the 2nd trimester horn. My dreams are better than any porn out there. Knew this pregnancy lark had to be good for something

xx

honey2theb · 22/03/2007 10:23

Hopeitwontbebig · 22/03/2007 10:31

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY LAKSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! X X X X X X X X X X

Hopeitwontbebig · 22/03/2007 10:38

Laksa, it's funny what you were saying about dreams. I read that dreams thread, but people on that thread have been having dreams about people other than their DH. I've had a dream every night about my DH, he just rolls his eyes in the morning when I tell him I'd had another one. Last night we were 'doing it' in a shop!!!!!!! PMSL!! So what else did you get for your birthday????

We've had snow here. We're looking after a friend's Boxer dog, and he almost had me over this morning, he spotted our cat bad boy.

EdieMcredie · 22/03/2007 10:59

Yes I have been having movement since week 14, im now 15 weeks. Some people say this is far too early but there is no mistaking it. It feels for me like a nerve twitching and is getting stronger all the time. I am quite skinny normally so maybe this is why I can feel it early?

laksa · 22/03/2007 10:59

thanks hopeitwontbebig...can I abbreviate to HWBB? DH got my favourite perfume, some lovely earrings. Whilst he was in milan he was very naughty and has brought back miniature booties in both blue and pink which say boy and girl in italian...he said the girls ones weren't too girlie and we can use them anyway if its a boy I did tell him off as know its too early to buy stuff!

On the dream front...dh made reference to the recent spate of them and also bought me a book for my birthday called 'sex and the psyche' Its really interesting and funny. It is a survey of thousands of peoples sexual fantasies and is written by a psychotherapist. I am very interested in this sort of thing since I am studying it at the moment

HWBB,I am also the same, am not dreaming about other ppl but just dh in weird scenarios. The other night we were doing it on a chest freezer in this cold room and it had this weird 'Bladerunner' plot/scenery incorporated. Very strange I have always quite liked that film though.

HammerHeadShark · 22/03/2007 12:24

Hi everyone

Happy Birthday Laksa - 30 sounds very young to me - glad got some nice goodies and keep enjoying your cheeky 'Bladerunner' dreams.

Have finally got my scan this afternoon - we are taking the DTs along too so that DH can come so that should be interesting - have a back full of snacks and toys to bribe them to behave in the hospital.

Am very nervously hoping that all is well and that there is only one this time
Will report back later.

fff45 · 22/03/2007 12:33

Cheers for the warm welcome!

laksa, I had a wierd dream a few weeks ago, you would doubtless find interesting. I dreamt I had twins, and when they were born one had to stay in the hospital because it wasn't well. I brought the other one home, but something happened and it died. Then the hospital rang up to say the other twin had died as well, but they had mummified it and they sent it to my house, all gilded and painted like an egyptian mummy! When I told my DP he said it was obviously related to an abortion I had when I was young (died in hospital), and the missed miscarriage a couple of years ago - the one that died at home. spooky, eh?

The up side to this is that I've just had results of the Integrated Test from the Wolfson Inst. in London re DS etc, and was screen negative! so have stopped worrying enough to join the list. I'm 17 weeks and feel the butterfly fluttering occasionally, especially when I sneeze!

LoopyLouLisa · 22/03/2007 13:08

Happy birthday Laska! How is the car-hunting going? I mentioned it to dp and he said to tell you that the car definitely has a split-personality disorder... he thinks that it is the best car he's ever had as it's the perfect family car, yet when he's alone it becomes a sporty car as he can use the 6th gear.

I am definitley having more naughty dreams but they always seem to be when dp is working away. However, when he is here i always seem to experience a powerful twinge low in my belly at the crucial moment.anyone else had that?

I am trying to keep my emotions in check but tuesday was a bad bad day. I went to a hospital antenatal appt and was previously told I was going to have a scan so i was psyched up for it. When I went in the room the doc told me they wouldn't be performing the scan today but in 6 wks time instead, and they wouldn't even check my msu/bp or listen to heartbeat. I got most upset at this and dp was embarassed at my tearful hissy fit. I went to my midwife and she agreed to do the check for me. at least someone understood that all i wanted was to check that lo was still ok and there was no way i could wait another 6 wks to find out.

Thank u all mners for listening to my rambling! xx
