Happy Birthday @MrsJW15 enjoy the peace

@teainbed good news on BabyTea's blood sugars, fingers crossed for your own bed tonight!Grin

@Rockyroad17 well done on your lengths, I stopped going swimming because the pool was too cold (I couldn't swim fast enough) to stay warm hopefully when I'm on my maternity leave I'll be able to go to a different pool Smile

@jennymac31 Hope you can hide from some of the party

Teaspoon74 · 15/04/2017 15:45

Happy birthday @MrsJW15!! Have a cracking day Smile

ShiniBerry · 15/04/2017 15:50

Tea what a cutie! Hope you both get to go home soon!

Happy Birthday MrsJW Cake

I'm getting a pre-baby haircut and treatment and then DH and I are headed into town for a date night too- probably the last one for a while!

Teaspoon74 · 15/04/2017 16:14

Shini great minds etc!** I just had my last pre-baby haircut and colour done - planned to time with induction or natural #firstworldproblems Smile. Enjoy date night!

ClaireSunflower · 15/04/2017 17:01

Haha I've just been for a hair cut and highlights too shini and Teaspoon! Great minds must think alike. It's probably the last chance I'll get before the baby is born so god knows when I'll next look half decent!

Not feeling great today. I'm in Manchester visiting my mum and had a terrible nights sleep last night being in a different bed and woke up about 20 times with hip pain. Got up for my hair appointment the went to John Lewis with my mum. Just had a nap back at her house now but still so uncomfortable!

Badgerbird · 15/04/2017 17:17

northern that's nuts to think you'll have your baby with you this time next week!! Eeeeek! How exciting Grin

Hope party goes well jenny. I too have a stubborn DH who insists on doing everything himself Confused

Funnily enough I don't mind the bump touching but I can only think of one person who's done it unasked, our neighbour (older male) and I thought it was quite sweet. Totally get why others don't like it though!

Happy Birthday mrsjw!! Cake

It's so fab that neither of us are working this bank hol so spending lots of time together Smile Went swimming then brunch yesterday. Today housework, baking & stripping out our old camper van/bus so OH can rebuild it better. SIL & partner over for dinner tonight. DIY on baby room tomoz and maybe a trip to a country pub. So far there's been lots of music and laughter :)

Enjoy the weekend everyone! X

PeachIcedT · 15/04/2017 17:46

Hope you're having a great birthday @MrsJW15! And I'll join the haircut club today, didn't get anything exciting, just a greatly needed trim but know that'll be the last one I will have childfree!

Then I spent the afternoon making and icing a cake to take round to family dinner this evening plus chocolate cornflake nests (I'm calling it practice for making them with a child...).

@teainbed so pleased to hear the sugars have stabilised, now hoping you can all go home today.

RasperryInAMelon · 15/04/2017 19:03

Note to self... don't leave it 24 hours to check in...

@ShiniBerry 💐 the MW you saw sounds horrible! Hopefully you won't be seeing her again any time soon

@Barnes79 such a neat little bump ☺️

@Sipperskipper hope all went well with the tests today?

@yellowismyfavourite good luck with everything today!

@teainbed 😍💙💙💙 That's amazing news! Congratulations!! He's super gorgeous!

@1004Rise I hope the shuffling doesn't last for the rest of this pregnancy, I'm in bits 😩 I too am getting the sharp cervical pains now

@peasandquiet I hope all goes well at the Wedding today

Happy Birthday @MrsJW15 🎉🎂🎁🎈

@Rockyroad17 I'm with you, I actually don't mind people touching my bump

DH and I have had a mad day. NCT breastfeeding session this morning which was really interesting, then went to visit a friend and her 10 day old baby girl which was so lovely but has seriously put the fear of god in me too. I can't believe that someone so tiny is going to rely on me so much 🙈

mrspage1985 · 15/04/2017 20:13

What a beauty boy @teainbed 💙💙very jealous as well - I'm bored of pregnancy now and just want my little boy here!!

In pampering talk I had pedicure today and got next nails and brows appt booked in. Desperately trying to find somewhere where they do preggo massages on the bed with the whole in the bed so I can lie on my front - but so far no luck in finding one.

Wish I hadn't left trying to find a hypnobirthing class so late - can't seem to find one other than on a date I already had something booked. What's people's thoughts on it - worth it or not? Have got a book but was struggling to get into it - tempted to try again once on maternity leave and just make do with that (and save myself the money of course seeing as I am developing a beauty treatment habit that could escalate once on maternity!!)
What's people's thoughts on the value of them? X

WishIWasSleeping · 15/04/2017 20:29

Happy Birthday MrsJW, hope you've had a fabulous day! WineCake

He's a cutie Tea. BearSmile x
I want mine now! Grin

I decided it would be a good idea to buy some boob and pant pads for my hospital bag, so took DD for a walk... she walked a fair way, I walked further and I'm shattered!
Im praying she wants a full nights sleep tonight! Only 30-60 mins until bedtime! Forgot any type of cream or spray for me though! And actual pants. Have a few pairs left from last time though!
And got the neutral baby clothes out today, so just need to wash those.

And I've discovered that I took my notes out of the folder they were in so DD could play with the folder.... and I have no idea where my notes are!! Confused will have to look for those tomorrow!

FoxMulder · 15/04/2017 20:31

The hypnobirthing course I went on was worth it for getting my DH on board because he's shit at reading. And for drilling it into us the need to practice. But other than that the KG hypnobirthing book pretty much covers it. I'd recommend it to anyone actually because it explains all about the conditions needed for a smooth labour.

beanturnipandspud · 15/04/2017 20:32

Thank you shiniberry, I will feel much better when we get an actual date. Spud currently has a corner of our lounge and I want to get his nursery set up 💙

Happy birthday mrsjw 🎂

mrspage I have had zero classes on anything at all. We were really skint when pregnant with bean, then had a wedding to pay for when pregnant with Turnip. So I can't comment on how good they are. We decided that we've already done it twice so we haven't gone to any this time either. Anyway, from my experience of not having any. I have laboured both times quite well, not needed much medical intervention. And felt in control both times. I plan on a home water birth with gas and air for the last stages for spud.

I found staying calm and taking each tightening as it came a decent strategy for both my others. It lasts for around a minute then goes for a couple of minutes. It's not a constant pain which meant I could cope with it.

We've been to IKEA today .... wow! That was stressful, bean and turnip both misbehaved and DH acted as though I was torturing him. So will go back on my own once I am on maternity leave. 👍🏼

Now having a prison break marathon and takeout 😊

beanturnipandspud · 15/04/2017 20:54

Also school admissions are causing me serious anxiety 😳👊🏼 Lancashire release tonight/tomorrow, Calderdale release on Tuesday! I need to know where my Turnip will be going 😪🙈

Autumnsweater · 15/04/2017 21:49

I don't mind my bump being touched, in fact sometimes it's me making people feel it when he's moving Grin.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their birth stories, good to hear the positive induction stories. We had our second NHS antenatal class this week - topic was complications and the midwife was very anti-intervention/induction. Just kept going on about the cascade of intervention. She did say that sometimes they were necessary but didn't say when that would be or then say anything that would make people feel calmer about having one Hmm. I want a water birth but I was hoping to get more balanced information about the other options just in case we end up having a medical need for one of those. Feel like I've had better info here! She was good at talking about patient choice though which made DH feel empowered about being an advocate for me so we got that from it.

KLane · 15/04/2017 22:51

@mrspage1985 We also did the KG hypnobirthing course and I agree with @FoxMulder in that my DH probably needed it more than me to get on board. That being said, we both got so much out of it and I'm very glad we did it. The KG book is very good and a straightforward read (I've read a few from different authors but I think it's the best). You can pay for the audio tracks on the website that you would normally go through on the course. They're well worth the purchase it in my opinion- they're uploaded on our phones for nightly practice and we'll be playing them during labour.

1004Rise · 15/04/2017 23:16

I hasten to add she's only 6 months pregnant, but she also has a toddler.... I feel a bit inadequate now Blush www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39607912

MrsJW15 · 15/04/2017 23:53

Thanks for the birthday messages everyone! Had a lovely and relaxing day out with DH although I found being in the car really uncomfortable. Then got back to my parents and it was all a bit chaotic and overwhelming and I cried. Again. Hormones!

But we had a nice dinner this evening so all ok. Now putting off going to bed and lying awake all night - catching up on all your messages instead.

MrsJW15 · 15/04/2017 23:59

Teainbed hope you made it home!

Claire I've been sleeping at my parents on and off all weekend but I've been really uncomfortable. Nothing like your own bed. Currently sleeping on top of a duvet to pad out under my hips and ribs.

Klane interesting on the hypnobirthing. We did a short Judith Flood course and it was good but I slightly feel like there must be more to it... we have a relaxation track that we've listened to a couple of times in bed - it has helped me sleep to be fair. We've been practicing the massage but I think we need to do more breathing practice. I felt it was more reinforcing my NCT and yoga than adding loads of new stuff.

Autumn that sounds frustrating. Better to be prepared for ehst they may do!

jennymac31 · 16/04/2017 00:23

Beanturnipandspud - I know what you mean about school admissions anxiety! It was all that most of my friends were talking about at my dd's birthday party. Trying my very best not to second-guess what school we may have been allocated.

Nurse15 · 16/04/2017 04:41

Tea massive congrats he is just gorgeous!!

Eventful day here - have been off on maternity for 9 days and had spent them getting baby bags ready. Glad I did as today (35 +3) I started having regular contractions in my back. Attended MAU where they confirmed them, checked my cervix which was soft and 1-2cm and did a fibronectin (?sp) which came back positive so I was admitted. However my hospital I was booked into didn't have any neonatal beds and the only neonatal bed in the country was unfortunately at the far side of the country so I've been transferred out to there. Contractions have been consistent despite attempts to stop them and so after I get my 2nd steroid injection tomorrow they may take me for a section. Worried she will be here early and she's only measuring 5lb but we will have to see what happens. Will keep updating as I go along. Smile

Teaspoon74 · 16/04/2017 06:23

Hope you're ok @Nurse15. Thinking of you!
How far is far? Xx

newbieho · 16/04/2017 06:30

Good luck @Nurse15, don't worry, both of you will be taken care of!. What an Easter present!

Nurse15 · 16/04/2017 06:33

Thanks you two! It's about 80 miles or 1.5 hours drive - probably not far in England but we're a bit dim in NI when it comes to travelling Grin

RasperryInAMelon · 16/04/2017 06:50

Good luck with everything @Nurse15 💐

mrspage1985 · 16/04/2017 06:55
