Massive congratulations tea, that's wonderful news! Great weight too. It's so exciting to hear that the babies are starting to arrive!

ClaireSunflower · 14/04/2017 22:26

Congratulations @teainbed that's amazing! And a great weight for an early one. Hope you don't have to spend long in hospital and can get home and enjoy your new little boy, so exciting!

1004Rise · 14/04/2017 22:27

This baby has definitely moved Blush I'm getting properly stabbed in the cervix and it really hurts, (I'm going to be no good in labour Blush) I only hope it's a head down there and not feet Hmm The top of my bump has gone much softer but is really hard just above my bone. My pathetic walk has turned into an even more inefficient shuffle. Is it really like this for the next 5 weeks?!

lullaby23 · 15/04/2017 02:53

tea congratulations on your boy! 👶🏻💙💙💙 Lovely to hear you are both doing well and he's such a decent weight.

yellow how exciting /nervewracking to have an induction date in the diary! Enjoy this week.

Agree we should try to keep this thread going until all the babies are here, but maybe birth stories on the post natal thread incase anyone wants to avoid them when still pregnant.

Teaspoon74 · 15/04/2017 03:41

Huge huge congratulations @teainbed!

Can't wait for the pics!

McBaby · 15/04/2017 03:55

Congratulations tea.

@Yellow I was induced at 38 weeks in my last pregnancy. Took 36 hours from pessary to birth (but I was only in labour for the last 45 minutes of that)! For the first 35 hours I was just getting to 2cm!

Just take lots to read and watch on the iPad plus snacks as there can be a lot of waiting around for doctors and things to happen.

ShiniBerry · 15/04/2017 04:51

Yay congratulations Teainbed Flowers

Has anyone else been awake since stupid o'clock Envy

Savage and Bean thanks I'll make sure to ask about equipment/bluetooth monitors at my next appointment.

I too was planning on working up to 40 weeks. However the scaremongering from the MW freaked me out and so I had to make the decision to start ML early, especially if it means i can control GD better.

Bean good luck with the move! Hope it all works out with getting the HB you want!

Sipper i do think MWs should not beat around the bush or sugar coat, but she went too far, i think i just stared at her as she was saying all that! Sorry to hear about your liver function, hopefully it turns out to be nothing too scary, but try not to panic Flowers. I believe we can still use hypnobirthing techniques during labour no matter what type of birth we end up having, so maybe that will give us a bit more control over the situation.

Yellow hope all goes well! The upside is getting to meet baby sooner!

I'm finding these induction stories very helpful. No idea if I'll need one yet, but it's good to know that they can be straightforward and even positive!

Am posting a 37 week bump update on the bump thread-another one who looks like she swallowed a beach ball!

1004Rise · 15/04/2017 04:58

Knew yesterday's long sleep was a fluke!

No idea why I am so wide awake at this time in the morning!

Maybe we should all be trying to do a bit of @mightymouse76 VAT return to help us sleep!

Teaspoon74 · 15/04/2017 05:06

Shini yup! Sick of this now!!

ShiniBerry · 15/04/2017 05:12

Waves back to 1004Rise and Teaspoon 74

At least when we're all soon struggling to stay awake feeding through all hours of the night we can keep each other company through this thread!

1004Rise · 15/04/2017 05:17

@ShiniBerry very true!

I wouldn't mind if there was actually a reason! I went downstairs to visit the dogs so at least they got a biscuit out of it Hmm

vanilla8 · 15/04/2017 05:24

Morning all,

Insomnia back here too, fed up lying on my left side but can't lie on right side due to pain under my right boob.

Rhinitis seems to be back too Sad

Teaspoon74 · 15/04/2017 05:45

@shiniberry love that you see a bright side ;)

Morning* @1004Rise & @vanilla8* 👋🏻

1004Rise · 15/04/2017 05:55

@vanilla8 random suggestion but have you tried cuddling a teddy bear (or a small pillow) to allow you to lie on your right. I started using one really early on because it protected my boobs. Still use it now Blush

yellowismyfavourite · 15/04/2017 06:32

Morning rise vanilla and teaspoon been awake on and off with back ache and finally decided to get up!

The induction stories have been so helpful thanks everyone who posted one. And the positive side is we have a date when we will definitely meet our baby so feeling much better this morning

teainbed · 15/04/2017 07:37

@yellowismyfavourite I have now been induced four times! Yesterday's was my best birth though. Smile I had two sweeps which started off some contractions, but no pessary as they didn't want to overstimulate me. Then membranes ruptured which also didn't start off labour or dilate much but was still contractions on and off. So they recommended a syntocin drip and an epidural. I probably wouldn't have picked either of these options before but the placenta issue hadn't gone away so he still has to get out! The epidural was fab, is had one with DS years ago and thought it was quite crap. But with this one I could feel contractions and move around but wasn't sore at all, it was bliss! Once I'd got to 10cm I pushed for about 20 minutes and then I was out! It felt very peaceful and controlled, and whilst there was no pool or comfortable birthing unit or anything it felt really lovely to get him out safely and mostly on my own. I've got a slight graze but no tears.

Induction isn't fun and nobody would want it particularly but it can be a good experience and it's how you get to meet your baby.

We've had a few issues with him overnight and slightly low blood sugars but I'm just trying to feed him loads and hopefully they'll settle and we'll get home today.

And after psyching myself up for the ward I'm in a huge single room with a massive bathroom. No idea how that happened but it's very pleasant. Smile

Sorry to hear about the ongoing insomniacs. Pregnancy sleep is awful. I'm convinced it's better once the baby is out even thought you're up feeding. At least you can roll over and get comfortable.

newbieho · 15/04/2017 07:45

Beautiful baby @teainbed ❤️

EnterWittyUsernameHere · 15/04/2017 08:03

teainbed Congratulations on the safe arrival of your son, he is beautiful!

I'm really excited now that women around my due date are giving birth - come on baby!

1004Rise · 15/04/2017 08:15

@teainbed he's gorgeous! Hooray for the private room too!

I'm currently convinced everything is better once you've had the baby, mainly because I think newborn cuddles must be worth it all Grin

vanilla8 · 15/04/2017 08:15

Thanks @1004Rise I will try a pillow tomorrow night.

@teainbed he looks so adorable, glad you got your own room and bathroom for afterwards, and that the induction was OK.
I assumed epidural made you completely numb so good to hear you still had some control

EsmesBees · 15/04/2017 08:16

He is lovely tea. Sounds like you did really well and great to only have a small graze. Are your older kids excited about their new brother?

PeachIcedT · 15/04/2017 08:33

Thanks for sharing the birthing story @teainbed and the photo is just gorgeous. Hope all goes smoothly today and you can both be discharged, but great to hear about your room and bathroom.

I'm looking forward so much to sleeping on my front again, I know the whole breastfeeding thing may make that tricky but even just for a few minutes will be such a novelty. On the plus side, my neck is in better condition as front sleeping tends to twist it usually.

Northernexile · 15/04/2017 08:38

Gorgeous photo tea, hope you get out today - even with your own room there's nothing like your own bed again afterwards!
vanilla and 1004Rise I am also currently sleeping with one of DD1s cuddly toys to allow me to sleep on my right side- I kind of wedge it under my boobs and bump and I find it much more comfy.
I am currently luxuriating in bed on my own as DH always gets up with the DDs on a Saturday, it's bliss! This will be my last one for a while now though as DC3 will be here this time next week!
