Love that photo rise. Smile

1004Rise · 28/03/2017 17:06

@McBaby how dare s/he! Maybe s/he's getting the naughtiness our early and will be a really good baby when s/he arrives Hmm

@Brightsmoke I know, l made it once round the football park last night with them and had to go home, feel guilty that I'm now boring to them... although as long as I feed them they're generally happy DH appreciates it, he's making the most of it now the house jobs are done while he has this time off. Although he thinks he may have got sunburnt Shock in Scotland in March.... unheard of!Smile

@RasperryInAMelon you'll probably be running around that much you won't notice it just dropping off you Grin

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 17:17

Quick grumble before I catch up; midwife was running an hour behind, I was only her 3rd appointment! I couldn't see her as I had an appointment with the bank. Now I have to see her next week. Sad

Now I collapse on the sofa.

Rustler74 · 28/03/2017 17:34

1 pack of maternity mats
(3 for 2 deal)

Rabbity, swimming cossie turned up today, thank you so much!! Will try on later and report back :)

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 17:37

@RasperryInAMelon @1004Rise I'm worried about the weight loss too! I've put on 8kg, but literally in the last few weeks. I can really feel it as it's all at the front!

DH is playing poker tonight so I'll be spamming this thread. He's bought me Gurgle magazine and a bunch of clothes from New Look, so that will keep me happy!

After my bank appointment I met up with a work friend; she was my mentor as a student nurse and then we worked together on the same team. She's 10 weeks pregnant! I'm absolutely thrilled as I'll have a friend pregnant at the same time as me!!! Selfish I know. Im so pleased that Bub will have his first friend.

Waddled to Asda and managed to get some sleeveless baby grows and if anyone was interested; the baby dove in there is £1.90 compared to £3.10 in Boots. It smells like dove but not as strong. They have a huge gift set for £8 so I think I'll pick it up this week. Are skin allergies and sensitivities hereditary? I feel like I should know this as a nurse. I can wear and use most things, but have a few sensitivities to strong perfumes soaps.

Here's my bump!

Oops pressed send too soon...
But I'm so short of breath and my swimming in the pool didn't help my back as much as I thought. Apart from the air being chilly in the pool area which happens all the time, the water was just a bit nippy too! I reported it but I'm sure nothing will happen so I froze my membership (literally!) and will be looking at another gym soon! I heard from other NCT lady that there's an aqua antenatal session in a closer gym which I will find out more details about.
Now feet up and the slow cooker on!

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 17:42

@Rustler74 ooooh that mum kit looks boss!!!

Badgerbird · 28/03/2017 17:43

lullaby that dates thing looks interesting!

Wow rise!!! You really do live in a beautiful part of the world Smile Id love to go hiking there. Managed to fit in a bit of yoga and a walk in the woods before work today. Bliss.

Oh nurseb that's so annoying when that happens!!! It's happened to me before. How you feeling today?

raspberry babycentre is another parenting website forum type thing.

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 17:44

@Rustler74 I don't know what type of pool you go to, but if you time it with a children's class, the water will be warmer. We have a big pool and then a tiddly pool where kids go, and when it's aqua otters or whatever, the pool is lovely and warm.

We use to live in Lincoln a few years ago and our gym had a hydrotherapy pool. It was like the bath from Harry Potter! I dream of that now...

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 17:46

@Badgerbird I'm really mardy about it as the appointment before me was a first appointment so it's a lengthy one. The lady came out, spoke to her mum, went to do a wee sample, spoke to her mum again and went back in. I was nearly stood on my chair like this AngryAngry I'm just worried now that the midwife will tell me off but it can't be helped. I'm feeling a lot better but just tired of the heavy weight!

jennymac31 · 28/03/2017 17:51

Shiniberry - I did keep my maternity pads on hand for when my waters broke, as midwife didn't initially believe that they had gone (she thought I was being too quiet to be in any discomfort!). I took my pad off and showed midwife who confirmed that waters had gone and there was meconium in the waters so it was time to move things along. There's no harm in having the pads at the ready!

Am not liking all this talk of after pains being worse 2nd or 3rd time round. Was kinda hoping it might be less painful 2nd time round.

Think I'll popping to boots after work tomorrow to get more pads etc.

Still haven't made a decision about finishing work early but have got a meeting with manager to discuss things. Have been working from home last couple of days so kinda feel like s* is gonna hit the fan after my meeting. Wish me luck!

RasperryInAMelon · 28/03/2017 18:12

@1004Rise I hope so!

@Brightsmoke just reminded me... I need to order one! 👙

@Rustler74 I might have to have a nosey in boots now!

I can't wait to be able to go swimming next week while I'm off! I feel like a whale in my bath tub now 🐳

I've been having pain around the lower half of my tummy today - I wouldn't say it feels like a tightening, but what I've known as period pains - 31+6 could it be BH?

1004Rise · 28/03/2017 18:44

Back on the topic of box sets, just put Chicago Justice on while making dinner, spent the past 30 minutes thinking I recognised the defence attorney.... it's Josh from The West Wing.... he's completely grey!! Tell me it wasn't that long ago ConfusedShock

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 18:56

@1004Rise he's aged!!! But in a nice way Blush

savagehk · 28/03/2017 18:59

Pads wise i don't think i took any out with me pre labour but did put nappy sheets under the sheet on the bed in case waters went at night, didn't want to ruin the mattress. I think i did take a plastic bin bag with me in case waters went and i needed to sit on a car seat or bus seat. I'll probably carry a normal sanitary pad with me this time, plus the bin bag.

astormgivenflesh · 28/03/2017 19:08

Had a scan today and baby is looking great! Weighs 4lb with 8/9 weeks to go so that's good I think?!

Starting to think I'm pathetic as the kicking REALLY hurts and I've cried a few times because of it yet most ppl seem to love it when their baby kicks or moves - doesn't bode well for labour!!

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 19:09

@astormgivenflesh sometimes my kicks are really uncomfortable, mainly at nighttime. I get frustrated as I'm trying to sleep!

astormgivenflesh · 28/03/2017 19:20

@nursebickypegs thank god it's not just me! Midwife said because of position of baby and placenta I can prob just feel them a bit more but even so, I feel like a right muppet for saying they hurt so much BUT THEY DO!!

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 19:22

@astormgivenflesh my Bub is lying on the right side, and I think he's head down. He does a "sweeping" motion with his hand across my tummy button and it's uncomfortable! It feels like he's trying to push out. DH will gently poke back, and then Bub will join in. If I over think it, I get properly weirded out!!

Rabbitykins55 · 28/03/2017 19:24

@Brightsmoke oooh glad it arrived! I only posted it yesterday after driving round with it all weekend!

Rabbitykins55 · 28/03/2017 19:25

@RasperryInAMelon yes that's how mine feel. I thought it was just pain from everything stretching etc but then it all became apparent when I had to go in for monitoring a few weeks ago. I could feel them and see them registering on the monitor!

ClaireSunflower · 28/03/2017 19:25

I bought some maternity pads from mothercare and they look really thick. I also bought a pack of 10 mats for the bed. We bought a quite pricey mattress last year and I don't want to ruin it if the bleeding is that heavy!

RedBlu · 28/03/2017 20:05

So I ended up being taken to A&E via ambulance today Sad

I was on the bus this morning heading to work and came over really hot, literally sweating and clammy, felt sick, dizzy, lightheaded and my vision went. Next thing I know, I am slumped across the seat with the woman across from me looking concerned....

When bus got to next stop several people came to help me and tried to help me off the bus to get some air and I collapsed/passed out again and landed on the floor so the entire bus was told to leave and they all had to get the next one Blush and ambulance was called.

Got taken to A&E, had lots of blood tests including two attempts to draw blood from my sodding ARTERY which a) I never knew they did and b) hurt like fuck. Various ECG's and BP monitoring as well.

After about four hours on the A&E ward, got moved to a sodding delivery suite where I was hooked up to a trace and had an ultrasound to check on bump and all was fine.

Bloods and ECG came back normal so they have no idea what caused it. It's happened a few times but never actually resulted in full on passing out. Finally got home after being at hospital for near on seven hours....

On the plus side, have now seen inside the delivery suites...

Not sure what this means for my maternity leave, I know it's going to have to come forward as I wasn't planning on leaving til 38 weeks but the Doctors and midwifes are all saying I need to take it easy and rest. This was suppose to be my first day back at work after being signed off last week for SPD. Didn't go to plan

Tickyboovicki · 28/03/2017 20:08

All this talk of early babies sets my heart racing! The date we've hesitantly been given for our move is the first week in may, and my due dates the 2nd so it will be all go then!
Finishing work Friday though so hopefully I'll have all of April to pack up this house in a calm and relaxed manner Grin
