Goodness me @RedBlu that sounds very scary! They don't have any idea what caused it? Definitely follow the midwives' advice and rest up.

Redblu that sounds scary! Amazing everyone was so helpful though, and always better to get checked out. Definitely take it easy now! Hope your all ok and resting up at home Flowers

1004Rise · 28/03/2017 20:31

@RedBlu that's all a bit scary, glad you and bump are ok. Hope you get some good rest tonight!

@Tickyboovicki have you looked at professional moving companies, not sure how far you're moving but they're cheaper than you think, you can even pick the service where they pack everything (and I mean everything) in less than a day for you so you basically make tea all day for them. We've moved several times and it's definitely more stress free than doing it yourself.

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 20:31

Shit @RedBlu!!! You have Aterial Blood Gases and they hurt like a mother...!!! You must rest please, this sounds so scary. Do they know what caused it?? Sad please reconsider your maternity leave, look after yourself!

Tickyboovicki · 28/03/2017 20:35

@1004Rise we're definitely going to use movers but going to the packing ourselves! Figure that way if we're in hospital at the same time, of just before/after at least I will know how everything is organised when I get home! Would drive me mad not knowing where everything was!

teainbed · 28/03/2017 20:39

Red that sounds terrifying! Arterial blood gases hurt like a bastard you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon. It doesn't sound like you'll be going back to work soon.

teainbed · 28/03/2017 20:40

My baby is trying to escape tonight. I honestly feel like he or she is trying to stand up in there. Confused

lucieloos · 28/03/2017 20:42

Wow red that all sounds very scary! Hope you are ok.

Sorry to just jump in I haven't had chance to read back and catch up. I'm just over 32 weeks now and have been having what I can only describe as mild menstrual cramps continuously all day and also lower back and hip pain. I think I overdid it a bit yesterday as have been painting and redecorating but have no idea if this is a normal thing or not. I've been feeling the baby move a lot but the cramps are worrying me a little. I'm sat here with a hot water bottle now. Could it just be ligaments or something else?

newbieho · 28/03/2017 20:42

@RedBlu this is truly scary. Take care of yourself and get PLENTY of rest Star plus nice cup of hot chocolate Brew

Badgerbird · 28/03/2017 20:52

Oh red what a scary crappy long day!! And on top of you worrying about work too. Surely there's not much they can say, you've passed out on a bloody bus for gods sake and been told to take it easy by professionals. Glad baby is ok and you are resting at home now Brew

lucy I asked mw yesterday about some mild cramping I've had very low down on tummy and she says it was normal stretching. Last couple of nights my back has ached horribly too. Yours sounds worse than mine though..... does it sound the same as raspberries? If in doubt give them a quick ring tomorrow.

Good luck at work tomorrow jenny.

lucieloos · 28/03/2017 20:58

Thanks badger, mine is really low down too right at the bottom of my bump and underneath but feels like around my back too. Sorry didn't realise this had already been brought up by raspberry. I've had a read back and yes it does sound very similar. Have you been able to get any further advice raspberry? Has yours eased up at all? Mine doesn't feel like tightening either just regular menstrual cramps.

EsmesBees · 28/03/2017 21:23

That sounds terrifying Red. Glad you are both ok. Are they going to do more tests to try and find what caused it?

Lucie it's more than likely braxton Hicks, but if you are at all worried then always worth phoning in for advice.

lucieloos · 28/03/2017 21:31

Thanks esme the cramping is constant though like menstrual cramps I thought braxton hicks was more on and off and no more than 4 times an hour with tightening? I don't have any of that.

RedBlu · 28/03/2017 21:45

Thanks all. I have been told to just come back if it happens again. All my results were normal so they don't know. Only thing a doctor mentioned on the delivery ward was that maybe it was due to me not drinking any water that morning. However I never drink water that early on, when I get to work I start on the water but obviously today I didn't make it that far. The doctor also said maybe I got overheated on the bus but I had been feeling really hot and off since Monday night and was really hot this morning before getting on the bus. So I don't think either of those suggestions was the cause.

The doctor who did the artery bloods tried TWICE but couldn't get the artery, he dare not ask to try a third time..... all I am left with is a very sore wrist which looks it is going to bruise up nicely.

I have my midwife appointment tomorrow and did plan to try to get to work afterwards but will see what she says. Obviously if I am still feeling dodgy, I will have to stay home as I don't want to risk a repeat of today.

If I have to, I will have to be signed off up to 36 weeks when my employer would put me on maternity leave but that is really last resort.

nursebickypegs · 28/03/2017 21:49

@RedBlu I'd definitely stay home and not rush back to work. It sounds like a scary experience and you don't want to repeat it. I wonder if it could be your blood sugars, did you eat in the morning? ABGs always leave a nasty bruise which look suspicious.

I've been trying (key word there) to put away ironing but I am lying down for the second time tonight. I am so lazy.

MrsJW15 · 28/03/2017 21:52

Wow red that does sound scary. Hope you are doing ok.

EsmesBees · 28/03/2017 22:08

Agree with nurse red you need to take it easy. Could you do some hours from home or drop down to part time until 36 weeks?

Lucie I've never had BH and didn't know I was in labour last time so not the best placed to give advice! But if you are all worried that you are feeling contractions then ring triarge for advice. Hope the pains have settled down by now though.

Rustler74 · 28/03/2017 22:27

Omg @RedBlu that sounds scary and the ABG painful! Poor you! Re work you're right, they can make you go on mat leave from 36 weeks if you're on sick leave.

I would probably try to sort something with occupational health, and the advising doctors are often very helpful in finding solutions with you and your manager. Worrying about work is really not a great thing as stress will affect your baby.

Wishing you all the best! How far are you now? Xxx FlowersFlowersFlowers

yellowismyfavourite · 28/03/2017 22:29

red that sounds really scary. Glad you are ok but hope you are resting!!
lucie I have had some like that... like period pains and in my hips and round to my back... sometimes the whole bump hurts... but they always stop eventually... definitely call if you are worried.
cinnamon midwife said my baby was 3/5 engaged last week and I think it's gone down more in the last couple of days. Have to use the bathroom all the time and I am sure my bump is lower and a slightly different shape. Plus baby wriggles and I can feel it... I might be wrong though... it's my first time and I might be imagining things that aren't there!

lucieloos · 28/03/2017 22:35

Yellow, yes that's exactly it. Still there at the moment. I'm hoping a good sleep and maybe it will have eased off in the morning.

Autumnsweater · 28/03/2017 23:01

red that's scary, glad everything checked out ok, look after yourself though.

Rise your beautiful dogs look like they had a marvellous time, am jealous! My SPD is too bad to walk mine much now, feel bad. And as the weather gets nicer it's so frustrating I want to be out on the hills.

lullaby23 · 29/03/2017 00:02

red sounds very scary, glad you were checked out and always heartwarming when strangers are helpful like that. Hope you can take it easy for a while.

ticky I find packing the worst bit, when we moved when DS was 3 months we put essentials to one side, got packers to pack everything (they did it the day before we moved) then unpacked ourselves so we knew where everything was at the other end. Whether it's before or after baby presumably you'll be sittting down instructing people anyway Smile

rise haha I know dates are not for everyone, I quite like them!

Brightsmoke · 29/03/2017 08:29

Rabbity, it fits perfectly, thank you so much :)

Red, that sounds horrible! Make sure you take the time you need, rest up, its not just you you have to look after these days!!

For all of us due 3rd May, today means 5 weeks until EDD, 7 weeks max until babies come, but only 2 weeks until we are classed as full term, and can have a more unsupervised birth!! yay!

Sipperskipper · 29/03/2017 08:42

red sounds very scary. Hope you are feeling better and getting plenty of rest.

MissMooMoo · 29/03/2017 09:53

What a chatty bunch! Have just spent 30 mins catching up.
Red that sounds very scary, please rest!

We had our last NCT clasa last night, they have flown by! Teacher took a photo of us all lined up in due date order, will be neat to see what order we end up in.

Starting to feel really tired and sore now. I seemed to have sailed through pregnancy without really feeling pregnant (apart from MS in the 1st trimester) and feel like I have been hit by a ton of bricks. Only 33 weeks and it sometimes hurts to walk now. Midwife said baby was head down at my 31 week appt but I have been getting a small lump (foot) poking out so far over on my left side I can't imagine how s/he could be head down! My bump is all lopsided and its quite painful. Have a scan on Friday to check my placenta so I guess they will tell us what position baby is in.

Last 2.5 weeks of work now,not that I am counting down Grin

I have some mothercare pads and some natracare ones. Im not sure how many I will need but planning to send DH out to get more if needed.

Those who have used cloth nappies before, how many times do I need to wash the brand new ones before I can put them on baby and expect them to absorb a decent amount? Planning to do all this after Easter when I have finished work, hoping it is sunny so I can hang them all outside.
