Everyone is offered the combined test which is a blood test combined with nuchal fold measurements and your age IIRC. And then if that comes out as high risk you're offered an amniocentesis or some places do the harmony test I think. I think it can only be done before 14 weeks.

londonfeather · 31/05/2017 19:34

26 weeks today and I am just so uncomfortable all the time and my back aches... is this only going to get worse? How am I going to do another 10 weeks commuting/ at work!!

WhatwouldRuthdo · 31/05/2017 20:25

I hear you! I'm 27 weeks and feeling very achy. Have a physio appointment set up for mid July but it seems an age away (I have SPD). Hit a commuting low today when a guy kicked off at me on the tube for asking him to move his bag so I could sit down. Apparently I did not ask nicely enough. I'm now counting down the number of tube journeys left!

calimommy · 31/05/2017 23:01

Ruth I hope you kicked him in the balls then acted annoyed when he wanted to sit down

WhatwouldRuthdo · 01/06/2017 03:22

Ha, next time... hope everyone else is feeling more full of second trimester vitality!

SayItIsntSo1 · 02/06/2017 08:09

Ruth the second trimester spring has definitely gone missing here. I feel huge already and someone said the mortifying words to me yesterday 'not long to go then'... no only 16-17 weeks!

I made the mistake of weighing myself this morning and appear to have put on 2/3lbs in the last 10 days taking me up to +18lbs already Blush I was hoping to keep the weight increase to under 2.5st but not sure that's going to happen now as I'm only 23+4wks. Please tell me I'm not the only one packing it on?! Must need to be a bit more careful on food and up exercise.

I hope everyone else is doing ok and looking forward to a nice weekend.

SpringtoSummer · 02/06/2017 08:47

I don't have scales but have definitely put too much weight on and am planning to join an aquagym class and watch what I eat now. But I am really enjoying this stage, apart from a bit of heartburn I feel well and find the little movements so reassuring.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 02/06/2017 09:05

I'm pretty huge, as people seem to delight in telling me. According to the midwife I'm measuring spot on though so I'll not worry too much. I refuse to weigh myself. I put on 3 stone with DS...

Lules · 02/06/2017 09:58

I think I've put on a lot of weight but haven't weighed myself in a while. Last time I put on 20 kg but I lost it all fairly easily so I'm not that bothered. And I'm still very sick so it's eating whatever I can rather than being healthy.

fluffywallow · 02/06/2017 15:14

I've put on 20lb (10kg) at 26 weeks which sounds a lot but at 1st 8lb is far less than at this stage with my DD. I've actually not put on any weight in about 2 weeks which concerns me slightly but I expect it's because my eating habits have settled down a bit.

With my DD I put on 4stone but I expect it'll be nearer 3 stone this time which I'm fine with. It all came off within 18 months (I then went and piled on a stone stupidly before conceiving, doh)

Frillyhorseyknickers · 03/06/2017 21:15

I'm sick of people telling me how big I am, today has been a bad day! Resisting the ice cream!

calimommy · 03/06/2017 22:15

I seem to look different to different people: half of them tell me I'm very tidy and the other half (lead by my mother) remark how the third baby gives you a massive bump... "your really huge" 🙄 so long as no one comments on the size of my bum, I'll tolerate it.

fluffywallow · 04/06/2017 08:43

Haha I agree Cali bump comments I can just about tolerate but start mentioning my (increasingly sizeable) arse I'll be unleashing the rage!

puttingourhoodupdown · 05/06/2017 18:14

Eek I've just seen there is already a Feb 2018 group....this makes me feel pretty far along!!!

fluffywallow · 05/06/2017 19:59

I noticed that putting - think that's 6 ante natal groups after ours, eeek. Simply cannot believe I'll be 27 weeks in a few days.

I'm going to blink and be 37 weeks I can see it happening!

QuestionARhino · 06/06/2017 09:28

Ah I'm a little late to the party but managed to find the antenatal club thread for my due month! Due 7/9/17 with my first babe Grin

StarWish1 · 06/06/2017 10:02

I'm 28 weeks today so I'm in the third trimester!!
I've definitely put weight on my face, arms and legs but I can't complain as I've developed a massive sweet tooth and I've been eating loads of cakes and sweets etc I wouldn't normally eat when not pregnant. I just keep telling myself I'll sort it out after the baby and join weight watchers or something similar if necessary (not immediately after baby I have to stress - none of that 'get into your pre-baby jeans in 6 weeks' pressure for me - but once we're out of the first couple of months I plan on rejoining my gym)

Lules · 06/06/2017 10:48

Yay star! And welcome question. Have to say I can't wait until September.

QuestionARhino · 06/06/2017 11:13

I'm getting very impatient and I haven't even finished shopping for all the essentials yet Blush

StarWish1 · 06/06/2017 11:31

What have you bought so far Question? I haven't got anything yet - going to try to hold off until July.
I'm so impatient - thrilled to be at 28 weeks but still so far to go!

DaisyChainsForever · 06/06/2017 11:35

Rhino I haven't even started shopping yet!

QuestionARhino · 06/06/2017 11:52

Ah you guys make me feel better Grin well we bought the pram a good while ago purely because I knew what I wanted (bugaboo donkey) and knew that we'd be buying 2nd hand so I started looking out early for one in good condition and when it popped up on gumtree I had a good feeling and took the plunge (glad I did - it looks nearly new!)

We also bought this rocker from mamas and papas when it was in the sale.

Other than that we've only picked up clothes and lots of nappy samples and such! None of the important stuff like cot and car seat haha though we do have an idea of what we want. OH is super keen on getting everything and I'm dragging my feet like we've got all the time in the world

QuestionARhino · 06/06/2017 11:52

Oops forgot the screenshot

DaisyChainsForever · 06/06/2017 12:02

I also keep telling myself I've got loads of time.. I really need to pull my finger out and start shopping!

oliversmummy26 · 06/06/2017 12:21

I've still got loads of clothes from DS and have a rocker and been getting little bits and pieces. But need to fork out for pushchair, car seat and co-sleeper...i've ordered by pushchair and paying off in dribs and drabs, still undecided on car seat (looking at britax dualfix or cybex sirona, in laws have said they'll get the car seat which is lovely of them) and going to hire a bednest (only £89 and reviews look good)..

26+2 and keep putting off all the big purchases as so worried I'm going to have no money once I finish work (7 weeks to go on Friday until my last day Grin
