Re Maternity wear, this is my third pregnancy but my first pregnancy in the states and there's a shop here called Motherhood Maternity which sells clothes that are actually comfortable! I have a pair of jeans which are comfortable and DONT FALL DOWN EVERY 5 MINUTES😮😮😮😮 I threw all of my Jojo Mama Bebe pants and jeans in the bin because that's where they belong, those implements of your torture, and I tweeted them to ask them 'which particular hell was it that they had forged their maternity jeans'? I've gotten several tops from MM as well which are lovely and not striped. Also the bras are amazing there and have underwires for my generous bosom. If you are travelling over at any point or know someone who is, get them to grab you a pair of the skinny jeans 👍

NutCase82 · 23/05/2017 07:38

Sorry for the change of subject but is anyone else experiencing a sharp sensation in their nipple(s)??! This is my first and it's driving me a bit mad that I randomly have to grab my boob at work!! Any advice welcome!

oliversmummy26 · 23/05/2017 10:01

Lemondrop sending good luck vibes for your scan on Friday, it's such a nerve wracking time, and ages for you to wait! I'm sure everything will be just fine..let us know how you get on..if it helps, I think we were all worried before ours Flowers

Nutcase no advice, but I get this every now and then too! Like someone is stabbing me in my nipple from the inside out!

londonfeather · 23/05/2017 11:25

Sending lots of well wishes to all of you who are based in Manchester. Such a great city and such a senseless act.

Lules · 24/05/2017 19:56

I've sorted out my ML. Not going until a couple of weeks before but with using my leave beforehand my last day at work will be 17 Aug. I can't wait really. I'm exam marking at the moment which is very dull and commuting is hot. Hope everyone else is ok

fluffywallow · 25/05/2017 19:32

Hope everyone is ok in the heat. I escaped to the coast today (ages away but worth the trip!) as it was much cooler there....found last night hard to sleep so hoping it's a bit better tonight.

24+6 - can't believe in a few short weeks I'll be in the 3rd trimester!!

SayItIsntSo1 · 25/05/2017 20:22

Fluffy I also struggled to sleep last night. It didn't help that dd woke between 10.30-11.30 as she was thirsty...

I struggle to sleep in the heat at the best of times. Being massively pregnant through the summer is going to be interesting!

rollingonwheels · 25/05/2017 22:35

Hello! Can I join in with his group? Is it for babies due in September? My due date is 8th September :-)
Not including my miscarriages this is my 3rd pregnancy. I have a 4 and 6 year old.

rollingonwheels · 25/05/2017 22:37

Picture taken at 24w.
I'm 25w tomorrow :-)

calimommy · 26/05/2017 04:25

Hey rolling welcome! We are due date buddies, although I'll make no apologies for hoping I go earlier 😂 if you want to join the Facebook group you can email me at [email protected]

fluffywallow · 26/05/2017 13:31

Hi rolling there are so many of us on this board due on 8th September!!! I'm one of them!

Great pic, hope you are doing ok.

I just had a very hot moody trip to mothercare to get things for my DD - I need some more weather appropriate clothes!!

fluffywallow · 26/05/2017 13:32

This is my 24 (but actually taken closer to 25) week bump Smile

Travelgeek · 26/05/2017 15:25

Hi rolling, I'm another 8 sept due date! I hope we are spread out geographically or theyre going to be very busy maternity wards/ birth centres!

25 weeks today and just finishing up with a last couple of hours work before a week off! Woo! Confirmed with work yesterday that my last day in will be 18 August. Seems really soon now.

rollingonwheels · 26/05/2017 18:07

Hi Fluffy, Cali and Travel!
Lots with same due dates! Do you have any children already or is it your first?
As long as everything goes ok I'll be having a c section a week early under general anaesthetic, because I have so many health problems & previous complications with my past c sections.
Do you find when your pregnant, if it's cold you're very very cold & if it's warm, you've very very hot sweaty and dripping? Kind of extreme ends of it.

MrsY87 · 26/05/2017 18:14

Another due date buddy here! There really are a few of us due on 8 sept!

It's great once you have your final day at work confirmed isn't it? I'm finishing on 3 August so 10 weeks left for me and am on holiday for 2 of those...they can't go quick enough!

My legs and ankles are really aching today, no swelling but just aching, have been to playgroup and park with DD today so I've probably just spent more time on my feet than normal given I sit at a desk during the week!

londonfeather · 26/05/2017 18:19

My last day at work is also 3 Aug so I'm on the same 10 week countdown MrsY87.. just had two days back in the office after a 2 week holiday so looking forward to three days off!
My bump is really starting to grow... thankfully my line on the tube has good aircon as 10 weeks more of the tube doesn't sound too fun.

Might even buy the pram next week. I'm just starting to look at clothes and just perplexed at how many newborn vs. 0-3 months to buy - everyone I talk to has conflicting advice!

Happy bank hols all!

Lules · 26/05/2017 19:28

Hi rolling! My bump seems to have loads bigger in the last week. I look massive already. I'm 22+6.

Have found the heat ok but have been working from home for the past 2 days. I remember being boiling in the summer with my 1st but I was more pregnant then.

Travelgeek · 26/05/2017 19:30

This is my first rolling so going for a birth centre just gas and air and in the pool type brith but we'll see what happens!

I always run warm, all the time. Pregancy is just taking it to the extreme. Far too hot and hoping tomorrow's predicted thunderstorm actually arrives and breaks it.

rollingonwheels · 27/05/2017 17:19

We had the storm here! Lightening from 2am - 5.30am! Most of it was without any thunder apart from some around 4am.
(I'm in Cardiff)

DontBeBlueBeARainbow · 28/05/2017 03:59

Ladies, who here had genetic abnormality tests?

Am I right in thinking it's an age/risk factor thing as to whether you're offered them, and you decide whether you want them? Are they free on the NHS?

I just got a lecture from a (Chinese) doctor about not having had them and she asked when I would be doing them, like doing them at 26 weeks would still be useful?!

calimommy · 28/05/2017 05:36

I had mine done at 9 weeks and got the results by 11 weeks. I'm in the states for this pregnancy. I never had them done with the other two babies but I was in Ireland for those. I suppose she was thinking about preventative treatment in utero or else immediate treatment at birth?

Lules · 28/05/2017 06:18

Do you mean testing for downs/Edwards/patau syndrome? If so weren't you offered them at your 12 week scan? Otherwise I don't know what she's referring to.

SayItIsntSo1 · 28/05/2017 07:30

Morning,

Don't I had a private harmony test at 10wks and then the NHS combined screening at 12wks and abnormality scan at 20wks. I wasn't aware there's anything else to be done/available.

I've a rough night. Woke at 3 and worried about baby as he's been quieter the last couple of days I have also been busier and not laid peacefully but at that time in the morning I could rationalise it. So I got out of bed, had some juice and laid until I felt movements. Must have been awake 2hrs fretting so I'm exhausted and up with dd as it's DH's turn for a lie in and I couldn't face his whinging if I suggested otherwise. Have felt movements again this morning so think it was just my anxiety having a moment.

On a different note, I've got some tenderness under one side of my bump, on my hip bone. It feels like a pulled muscle sensation. I definitely twanged it a few days ago and thought it was round ligament pain but it hasn't gone completely. Has anyone else had similar?

NutCase82 · 28/05/2017 09:28

Anyone else bleeding after DTD? Happens about a third of the time with differing severity, mostly like at end of a period blood (sorry for TMI!) but sometimes it's blood red at first, continuing to end of period like blood the following day. I've said to midwife/ doctors twice and both said it's because of every blood vessel being engorged (why stuffy noses are common too).

Say I had a pain like a stitch for a while but it's gone now, happened on and off for a few days. I think midwife said it was the ligaments stretching.

DontBeBlueBeARainbow · 28/05/2017 10:29

I only had a private scan at 12 weeks in the UK, then nothing till my 20 week scan/appointment in China.

Yes I mean the 12 week ish screening. But not everyone has such tests do they? Isn't it based on risk factors and measurements from the 12 week scan?

I know everyone has it in China as they tend to not keep the baby unless it's perfect, given until recently they only had one chance. Plus the fact that doctors are underpaid and get commission based on people getting extra tests etc. I guess that's why she's recommending them, but I just don't like way they make you feel like a criminal if you don't do such things.
