Rainbow 9 weeks left of work sounds amazing! I don't want to count how many I have left because it seems like it's too far away!
I'm due on the 27th of Sep and planning on working until the 19th or 20th because we get paid on the 19th and would like the full months salary, but I'm already so tired and know it will just get worse!! How long is everyone planning on working? And how long are you taking off?

Mulberry2627 · 19/05/2017 06:23

Star and Corrinax I have an anterior placenta as well and I think that cushioned the movements for a while. I felt her at 19 weeks as a very faint bubble popping and it still feels like that but a bit stronger. Now I know what she feels like it's almost like she's nudging me, it's really strange, not how I expected it to feel at all! I only really feel her when I'm still and mostly lying down! I agree though it's very reassuring to see them on the screen.

londonfeather · 19/05/2017 06:33

It is amazing how different it is for everyone. I'm currently on holiday and get so much movement when I'm lying on a subbed I can see my stomach nice. Think bambino is squished in there! My placenta is low (have to be resecanned at 34 weeks) so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I'm also quite small worth a short torso so I do wonder if it's cause I'm really squishing bambino. Hope you all get your movements soon!

fluffywallow · 19/05/2017 07:17

Mulberry I plan to work until 2 weeks before baby arrives (37 weeks), I'm likely to have a cs in the first week of sept (at 39 weeks) so that makes it easier to plan. With my first I went off 2 weeks before her due date and she was 2 weeks late so had a month off before she arrived!

Corrinax · 19/05/2017 07:24

@mulberry this is what worries me you have an anterior placenta and still feel something at 19 weeks and although i dont know if i have one or not as i havent had a scan yet since 12 weeks but i dont feel anything im 19+2 now and dreding my scan on sunday 😣

Travelgeek · 19/05/2017 07:27

I'm the same london, I can watch baby move my belly. It is some how wierder than just feeling it. I am short though, 5ft 3, have a huge bump(!) and an anterior but not low-lying placenta so I just think everyone is different. From 19-21/22 weeks it was just fizzles and pops. It's just the last couple of weeks that its really strong regular unmistakeable movement. Its my first.

Mulberry, my plan is to finish at 37 weeks, with a week's annual leave then 2 weeks mat leave before my due date. But who knows when she'll arrive! Need to do some sums this weekend, but will likely be having not far off a year off, but not quite, probably 11 months really.

24 weeks today!

Lules · 19/05/2017 08:21

I have an anterior placenta and I'm 21+6. I can feel some movement but not all the time.

I'm not sure when I'm going on ML yet. I'm struggling with work so earlier that last time. I haven't used much holiday as we can only really use it in the summer so I'll have that to use too.

Feeling quite grotty overall. I was meant to go to a conference abroad yesterday but I'm not up to it so haven't. My dizziness is pretty awful. I had forgotten quite how much I hate pregnancy! Will all be worth it in the end though.

oliversmummy26 · 19/05/2017 09:55

Mulberry I'm finishing work at 34 weeks, but only that early because it coincides with DS's school holidays and means I won't have to pay all day childcare 5 days a week which would be silly when we have so many expenses coming up and need to save as much as I can before mat leave as I only get SMP. Hoping to have ELCS at 39 weeks too, so 5 weeks off before baby comes and that will coincide with DS going back to school first week of September Smile

With my first though I finished at 39 weeks and DS was 2 weeks late, so had 3 weeks of peace and relaxation Smile

I think I'm going to have 11-12 months mat leave, which would put me at going back to work end July/middle August, right at the beginnign of the school holidays again. Fortunately our holiday entitlement runs Jan to Dec, so hoping to use up lots of holidays and start back working early September when kids are back at school...it's all worked out pretty nicely really, won't be paying any school holiday childcare for over a year Smile

Lules it's been 5 years since I was last pregnant and I think I definitely had rose tinted glasses on, I didn't remember it disagreeing with me quite this much until I was in the middle of it. Now I remember not liking pregnancy at all! headaches, spd, heartburn, exhaustion here too! I suspect I might be anaemic again, so might ask MW to check my iron levels at 25 week appointment in 2 weeks...

fluffywallow · 19/05/2017 11:21

Sorry forgot to say mulberry I'll be taking a year - but the last of that is likely to be all my accrued holiday as I go on mat leave at the beginning of our holiday year.

Also 24 weeks today travel! I think there's quite a few of us who are. I like this milestone of viability....makes me rest a bit easier knowing if baby was born they'd have a decent chance on the outside.

MrsY87 · 19/05/2017 13:33

24 weeks today too! Definitely feels like a huge milestone in the sense that baby is now considered viable if it decided to arrive, hoping I don't meet it for a long while yet though!

londonfeather · 19/05/2017 15:10

Great to hear everyone's updates. 24weeks 2 days for me today. One of the midwives I saw said early sept was the busiest time to have a baby, which surprised me as a few people I've spoken to said they would stop ttc (if active) specially to avoid the risk of the child being the youngest in the school year.

SayItIsntSo1 · 19/05/2017 16:36

Checking in. I've been trying to post and catch up since yesterday!

21+4 today and feeling movements in and off through the day now. There are definitely still some quiet days though and others where I've seen my bump move!

Lules I was trying to post yesterday to ask if anyone else feels dizzy some days. I couldn't shake it yesterday and didn't know if if is tiredness related?

I'm not due to finish work until nearly 38wks but wondering if I am going to be able to hold out that long. I feel far more exhausted and whale-like than I did with dd. Daren't get on the scales, I'd put on 10lbs by 18 weeks but it feels like a lot more all of a sudden...

calimommy · 19/05/2017 18:00

london it's the xmas spirit...😜

Mulberry2627 · 19/05/2017 20:08

Lovely to hear everyone's updates!

I'm a teacher so a September baby is pretty perfect for me. I'm counting down to the summer holidays so I will have the 6 weeks off and then go back for 3 weeks until I go off on mat leave. I'm hoping to go back ages the May half term next year so I get paid over the summer. It's so annoying that even though no one will be at work I will get Mat pay and they get normal pay! At least I will have the holidays to get me through going back to work.

Getting paint tomorrow for the nursery and ordered the furniture today. I am itching to get sorting and put in drawers nice and nearly. I can't stop sorting out her little piles of stuff....sometimes every day Confused please say I'm not the only one who loves to organise?!

Lules · 20/05/2017 06:48

saysitisnt I'm not sure. I think some dizziness is normal but I keep fainting too. Waiting to get blood test results back.

Just had a nosebleed. Has to be the most random pregnancy side effect.

londonfeather · 20/05/2017 06:59

How is everyone finding maternity wear? On the whole isn't it just so uninspiring... I've got to the point where I can't keep up the facade and most of my normal person clothes don't fit me so it's having to be maternity wear. I did an ASOS delivery and sent every single item back, they all looked awful. Did a serephine order and sent every item bar 1 back, did a big order from topshop and the items were much nicer and bought a few Isabella Oliver items in the sale and EBay. I tried a few items on in new look the other day and everything was too big. Looked in H&M and couldn't see anything even worth trying on!

Lules · 20/05/2017 07:07

I have maternity jeans (normal and black ones I can wear to work) from topshop. I still fit into some of my loose tops. Then most of my other stuff is from from jojo maman Bebe. Although as I also buy toddler clothes from there sometimes I have to be careful I haven't dressed us too similarly!

Most clothes are quite uninspiring though

SpringSpringSpring · 20/05/2017 16:33

I've been struggling with clothes too. I got 2 pairs of maternity jeans and 2 chinos and have been living in those with loose tops. But its so dull...

I find it difficult to buy clothes partly because the little available seems to be in black or blue (not colours I like on me) and partly because I don't know what suits me now I look so different

StarWish1 · 21/05/2017 17:54

I'm also finding maternity clothes tough. Completely get what you mean Spring about not knowing what suits you anymore and it's also difficult because of this changing weather. I got a loose pair of boyfriend jeans but don't want to get black skinnies (which I normally live in during Autumn / winter) because it'll get hot soon. I've done a couple of ASOS and H&M orders and then sent nearly everything back apart from a couple of tshirts (which isn't useful if I don't have anything to put on my bottom half!) Currently waiting on a gap order to see what they're maternity stuff is like - some things were on sale last week.
Anyone else a big hormonal mess? Spent most of this weekend feeling uck and fed up with the whole world and worrying too much about little things like choosing a pram when we've still got ages to go. Thankfully my lovely DH gave me a nice hug and patiently reassured me about everything whilst I had a massive crying session this afternoon.

puttingourhoodupdown · 21/05/2017 22:43

Eugh I agree about maternity wear....I've just placed a big asos order knowing full well I'll be sending 90% back. I'm a fan of h&m over the bump jeans and will need some new ones soon I think but it is all very uninspiring!

LouLou030783 · 22/05/2017 07:33

Maternity wear is a nightmare it's like min ur pregnant ur meant to dress like a total frump I lived in leggings last pregnancy and will probably be the same this time although I have bought a pair of maternity jeans, we also have a wedding in August so that will be fun trying to find something

Travelgeek · 22/05/2017 07:55

Hmm, I didn't think I was doing too badly on the maternity wear front. I'm definitely operating with a 'capsule wardrobe' - finally! And has demonstrated how little clothes I actually need. To be fair I was never much into 'fashion', though I know what I like and don't.

I've got H&M jeans and tshirts - white, black, grey and navy plus a navy & white stripe and a grey & white stripe. I bought regular leggings from sainsburys in navy and black just a much larger size, same with tights. Jojo maman babe for a swimming costume, dungaree skirt (wanted one before I found out I was pregnant!), a dress that will work for nursing too and a lovely cotton skirt. Also got a basic h&m black pencil skirt for work and a maxi dress and jersey maxi skirt I already have fit well. Plus usual cardigans. Its pretty boring but all comfortable and I still feel like 'me'.

Actually, that's not that little amount of stuff after all!!

I'm going to start struggling with fitting my pyjamas soon, and I use a spare big cheap pac-a-mac of DH's if i need a waterproof out dog walking. That just about still zips over bump, but not for much longer!

Loathe to spend even more on stuff I won't need soon enough so going to try to avoid getting much else.

I know I'll need nursing bras and probably tops, and cheap button down nighties and big pants for my hospital bag!

SayItIsntSo1 · 22/05/2017 08:39

Morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

We had a lovely one, managed to do quite a bit but nothing of any great consequence. I have woken with horrible stomach cramps though and stomach has been grumbly since yesterday... I've had to turn around to come home. I can't sit through work meetings with the pains although they are infrequent. I'm getting fed up of feeling rough this pregnancy, thinking about making a doctors appointment to see if there's anything they can give me. Sad

Sorry for the moan. I struggle to take time for myself and I just feel so flaky not knowing if I can keep up to work from one day to the next.

oliversmummy26 · 22/05/2017 11:27

I have to say I rather like maternity wear. I'm not wearing much different to what I usually do, over bump jeans with tops - most of my wardrobe is from h&m some plain and stripy tops, but I also have a couple of jojo wrap tops which I love.

What I really like is the freedom to wear tight tops and not have to worry about holding my tummy in! I hate wearing floaty tops though, as I do feel they make me look frumpy, so much prefer the fitted stuff.

I have a couple of maxi dresses which work fine with a bump. I'm my sisters bridesmaid in August though, and she's chosen a seraphine dress for me, which is empire line, but knee length, I would have much preferred a maxi so I could wear flats, but will see how long I get through the day in wedges, at exactly 8 months pregnant!!

Lemondrop99 · 22/05/2017 14:18

Argh getting nervous about my 20 weeks scan. It's due this Friday, although I'll actually 21+6 by then! Feeling better now I can feel baby movement, but so nervous about the anomalies. I'll be a lot happier about this whole pregnancy once that is over (assuming everything goes ok!!)
