It's a girl!! Just back from 20 week scan. All looking good. Baby was rather uncooperative so we had to try all the tricks to get her to move around for all the measurements and see if she was a she or he. Sonographer was lovely. Very exciting.

EssentialHummus · 21/04/2017 11:10

LouLou030783 · 21/04/2017 18:41

sherbertlemon17 · 21/04/2017 18:42

Good idea Suzie and congrats Travel

Due date: 19th September
B/G - not finding out.
Favourite things: Baby kicks, DD patting my tummy and saying "aawww. Bebe."
"Oh shit moment" - I don't think I've had one yet Confused We are still waiting on hearing for a move date, but I'm sure once we're in and baby has their own room to start sorting, it will hit me!

sherbertlemon17 · 21/04/2017 18:44

How old is your first LO Loulou?

badger82 · 21/04/2017 21:35

Due date - 7th Sep
Boy/girl - think it's a girl but find out Thurs
Fave things - excitement at adding to our family
Oh shit moment - thinking about the birth too hard, none of my clothes fitting, thought of lack of sleep!

MrsY87 · 22/04/2017 06:44

Due date - 8th sept
Boy/girl - keeping it a surprise, only 20 weeks til we find out now!
Fave things - being able to feel kicks and DD taking to my tummy to talk to the baby
Oh shit moment - I'm not sure I've had one yet either, but am sure it will come once we've had our 20 week scan and start actually buying things or start our hypnobirthing classes in a few weeks!

Frilly - try not to grieve your career, you can have a family and keep your career, it's tough and involves a lot of juggling but it is possible. I think I recall you saying you work in property, I do too and there are a few very senior women in our business with 2 or 3 kids at home. I've always been a career girl too and although I went back 4 days (3 from office one from home) after DD I've been promoted since I went back and have more responsibility, I work long hours on my 4 days and don't see DD much on those days but for me that's balanced out by having one day a week just her and I. You will work out a work/home life balance that works for you, everyone is different there really isn't a one size fits all. you'll be surprised how easily you slip back into work too when you go back it's almost as if you were never away within a couple of weeks!

LouLou030783 · 22/04/2017 07:56

sherbert he's 9 months I also have 2 older children at 14 and nearly 11

emem24442 · 22/04/2017 21:09

Due Date: 13th September
Boy/Girl: dont know yet but finding out on thursday (very excited)
Favourite thing: always wanted to be a mum and i feel i finally feeling out my goal. Feel that mine and my boyfriend is better, more romantic e.g holding hands and cuddling more
Oh shit moment: my sickness is worse then my first trimester. Having to move, we live currently in a 1 bedroom flat (feeling stressed)

Popcorn1979 · 23/04/2017 21:39

Anyone know if there is a big growth spurt or something around 20 weeks? I had finally felt much better over last 3/4 weeks but this week nausea, headaches and tiredness are back with a vengeance!! Really hoping this isn't back for the duration....

calimommy · 24/04/2017 01:18

popcorn I'm fairly tired but mostly nauseated from indigestion. It took me a while to recognise it, it was extreme fullness and bloating after eating. I'm now drinking bottles of gaviscon and munching tums and feeling better. I'm due to see my ob in a week or so and I might get a px for losec or nexium then.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 24/04/2017 07:49

MrsY87 thanks - that is helpful. I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just melodramatic!

I don't know popcorn I'm being sick but I never stopped. Def try taking heartburn stuff.

londonfeather · 24/04/2017 12:50

I just had my 20week scan this morning and all was well. Woohoo! Hope everyone else at this stage is getting on well. Decided to keep gender a surprise in the end.

Also went to my GP for flu jab and whooping cough vaccine and the nurse wouldn't give me the flu jab as it is now "out of season" - anyone else have this happen to them?

WhatwouldRuthdo · 24/04/2017 12:52

COngrats on the scan londonfeather. I didn't call the GP about my flu jab as the midwife said it would be out of season, and that was back in March. I don't think they keep stocks year round. Whooping cough is done though.

oliversmummy26 · 24/04/2017 12:54

Due date: 10th September
B/G - found out BOY at 16 weeks, though we were convinced it would be a girl, so will not be surprised if sonographer says girl at scan on Wednesday!
Favourite thing: feeling baby fluttering, a heartbeat at every scan so far (5 and counting!), maternity clothes and not having to hide my massive tummy!
"Oh shit moment": worrying about how we're going to afford to live when I'm on maternity leave, and worrying about how DS is going to take having a little brother after the initial excitement and interest wears off and he realises he doesn't have all of mummy's attention anymore!

20+1 today and my little banana is wriggling about, still no regular big kicks, but loads and lots of flutters so happy with that for now. Can't quite believe he's 26cm now, that seems huge!! I remember getting excited when he'd gone from 46mm to 69mm in a couple of weeks, so this is enormous! Grin

oliversmummy26 · 24/04/2017 12:55

London my MW did say at booking in that we're coming out of the flu season now, so unlikely to need it, and she also said about running out as they don't keep stocks all year. Once it's gone it's gone..
Not looking forward to whooping cough vaccine though Sad

Travelgeek · 24/04/2017 13:31

london, the nurse said I could have had the flu jab when I went for my whooping cough but that it was out of season now and the risks a lot lower. I didn't bother as I'm otherwise fit and well and it didn't seem to be a problem. She didn't push either way.

frilly, I too am thinking about my career and the change in focus. It's strange to have development opportunities, assignments or pieces of work that I would normally jump at where I now take a step back and remind myself I'll be off in mid- August for about a year. And wondering what I will come back to - I'm currently on assignment but will likely come back to my substantive post, and likely 4 days a week.

I'm getting a lot more wriggling and movement now. I think I'm getting better at identifying it. When I had my 20 week scan I found out I have an anterior placenta too.

Flowers to those still feeling sick/ with lots of indigestion.

LouLou030783 · 24/04/2017 13:40

London yeah they don't offer flu jab after the 1st march here

Fluffywallow · 24/04/2017 14:52

Just had 20 week scan - all looking good and they confirmed she's a girl! Such a relief to have that milestone complete.

Congrats to everyone else who's had theirs too. I expect we'll have a flurry of 20 week scans this week!

Lots of movement here too - saw it on the outside of my belly last night, was lovely.

20+3

EssentialHummus · 24/04/2017 15:02

Congrats fluffy!

oliversmummy26 · 24/04/2017 15:03

That's great news fluffy! And very exciting to see movements from the outside, that's what i'm waiting for now...and DH and DS too I think! Smile

SayItIsntSo1 · 24/04/2017 15:07

Hello, just placemarking as this thread seems to move so fast some days.

18wks today and finally braved wearing my 'baby on board' badge. My anxiety is rearing its ugly head ahead of a reassurance scan on Wednesday. Think I am definiteky feeling movements now but they're slight enough I miss them unless I'm quiet and still.

Lovely to see people are having their 20wk scans and sailing in to the second half of pregnancy!

Travelgeek · 24/04/2017 15:49

Congrats fluffy
